“Friede's is a classic little diner that feels and looks like you're in a railroad diner car from the 40's complete with entertainment. You'll want to sit at the bar to enjoy the show put on by chef Bill. He's a funny guy and an outstanding short order cook. I got the fish, which was an amazing cut, but it was so bland I couldn't finish it. One employee can get a bit snappy. The rest are about the nicest people on this earth. The turnovers are delicious. Donuts are crudely made but worth it, just wish they were made all day instead of just breakfast to add a dessert to a dinner meal. Don't go unless you're willing to drop MONEY! We were also told the beans are similar to Grandma Brown Baked Beans, biggest lie. Overly major syrup flavor. “I love Jrecks. I mean I really really love it. Some might say I have an obsession. I've even got to the trouble of having their rolls shipped to me out of state when that was slightly more reasonable than flying home for lunch. But this particular visit on this particular day at this particular location there was something amiss with the rolls. They weren't soft pillows of cold cut goodness we all know and love. Maybe a bad batch? None the less you won't lose me over it. But do please make sure those rolls are on point next time! ❤️“

“Small local dinner, mainly older people working and eating here. Food is fresh, always made in house. Prices are very reasonable, 5 dollar burgers, 10 dollar entrees. Service is reasonable, everything is hot. Small and packed on the weekends. Under staffed sometimes so it can be slow service. 66 dollars for 5 meals and 4 drinks. Country fried steak breakfast.“

“Every time I come here, the food and service are top-notch. Out of all the diners ive been to in the US (which is A LOT), and this is easily one of the best. I usually come here on Sundays after church during a very busy time, and my girlfriend complains (every time) that we're going to have to wait. That is never the case. They seat you quickly and will take seating preference in mind when seating. As long as I live in Watertown,NY, this will be my breakfast spot.“

“In town to visit family and had dinner here tonight. It's St. Patty's day weekend and my wife had corned beef and cabbage and I went with the Reuben. Both were fantastic! Service was great despite them being packed when we arrived. Will definitely eat here again. So many other delicious things on the menu to try.“

“Service was a bit slow, but they were fairly busy which took as a good sign. Among our group, we had the Brunch Burger, fried Haddock, and a couple of bowls of French Onion soup. The food was excellent, and the 1920s atmosphere in the dining room would be difficult to replicate anywhere else.“

“We stopped in for dinner on Friday. Very pleasant and experience. It’s kind of like eating in your Grandma’s library, with a bar in the back. Very comfortable atmosphere.The food was outstanding. We ordered the prime rib. I’ve had prime rib all over Jefferson County. Ken knows how to cook Prime. The absolute best. The mashed potatoes and Prime rib gravy, killer! Enjoyed the whole evening very much.“

“The food here is really good. Ended up meeting family here after a family service. They dealt with an influx of about 30 people all at once very well. Servers were friendly and accommadating. We had a sampling of appetizes and they were all good. Great beer selection and a couple of ciders to pick from. We ended up going back the following day, just the two of us, and they had a great guitar player as well. Would definitely come back next time we are in town.“

The food was pretty good, my burger was cooked correctly and they followed all of my mother's dietary needs with no issues. The TVs are definitely too loud, and the game room is definitely rigged. “As others have said, this is a place with a beautiful spot for a view. We visited in high season so we went early for dinner and were able to get a great table with a gorgeous vista. The food was decent but not what I would call "special" or gourmet but combined with the excellent service and view, we enjoyed our experience. We asked for a few minor modifications to our meals and they were happy to oblige. We would definitely go back.“

“Orderd the steak from the 2 for $25 menu. I ordered med rare, it came out very well done. Told the waitress and she had my meal redone. The second steak came out just a tiny pink in the middle but still far from med rare. I gave up on the second time around because my dining partner was finished eating. An apology but no offer of waiver of cost. Other establishments would make sure everything was right. Not happy with anything. Texas Roadhouse would fix your meal plus not charge you. Guess I'll be going to TR.“
