“Unique decor with tin tiles and an old school, classic feel. you can tell that they are foodies by the way they compose dishes and the cocktails are excellent. It is generally busy. I can usually find a seat for two, but I would call ahead especially for more than two people. This is a great place. One of my favorites.“

“My daughter's baby shower was recently held here and I highly recommend The Ripe Tomato! I first spoke to Milan and he went out of his way to make sure was it a great day from the start of planning to enough room and tables, right up to the end. We had a delicious brunch, our waitress was friendly and we had great service. I was very pleased with everything!“

“So wonderful. We’re still talking about it a day later. This restaurant had us at tamarind with eggplant and chickpeas. Also cheers for the chili chickpea Bahjia. Other items kept our smiles going. Pleasant service. It is the only place we would go if we were in the area again. Can you hear our applause to the chef and cooks?!“

“I came here on a Thursday night and it was relatively busy so I would recommend a reservation. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. The ambiance is very nice; rustic yet not dingy. They provided complementary bread and butter which came in the form of rolls. For my main, I ended up getting the maple chicken salad. The maple balsamic vinaigrette was really delicious with the apples and the grilled chicken, but the highlight of the meal was definitely the pumpkin nut muffin. It was soft and spiced very nicely; I was surprised by how well it complimented the salad. The person I went with got the fish and chips. He said it was pretty good but "inauthentic to the U.K." (this is a good thing; it means the fish was seasoned well). Overall, I would certainly recommend the Olde Bryan Inn for a comforting vibe and good food.“

“Have been here a few times. Somehow, we always get right in. We usually sit at the bar, and everyone who works here is hard working and very pleasant. The choices for breakfast are baffling. There are just so many to choose from and not your average breakfast menu. Oh, you'll find that too, but they also have specials, and the food is so good you won't know what to pick first. My suggestion is to go try everything. What the heck! I order something new every time. This time, I had smoked salmon, eggs over easy with asparagus, topped with hollandaise sauce and capers with a poppy lemon muffin and homefries. Just delish. The coffee is good too. Sometimes we go places the breakfast is good and the coffee is terrible. And some the breakfast is subpar and the coffee is spot on. So it's nice to have both!!!“

“Amazing service, atmosphere, food, wine and dining experience! Such a gem of a spot inside. Both times we have been there we had the pleasure of live music as well. The interior aesthetic is lovely and romantic - a perfect date night spot. I have gluten and tree nut allergies and they are very accommodating too! I highly recommend a stop here and can't wait to go back!“
“I came here once over the summer and really vibed with the owner. He's friendly and carries a conversation gracefully. (Spoke with Ty this time. Also a good guy.) The first time we vibed I'd ordered chocolate, but I remember he said the sweet blue-nilla flavor was his favorite so I figured I'd try it and savor it. How can you beat it? It's made with organic blueberries and local honey, clearly made from scratch. There's no catch; it tastes crisp, fresh. So does the cheesy Mac. Had to have that. Brings me back. Yanno those childhood days. Anyways. Kaleidoscope Cafe. It's a homemade ice cream place. Go and grab a scoop, perhaps a plate. p.s. This is the last time and place I'm eating out before embarking on a 13 day complete water fast, after which I won't be won't be eating out again, unless I happen to be on vacation or traveling with a family member or some other rare occasion. The fast starts on Ekadashi on March 20th, 2024 and will carry on all the way through Palm Sunday on the 24th, Holi on the 25th, Good Friday on the 29th, Easter on the 31st, and Easter Monday on April 1st. I plan on breaking the fast on April 1st; that is, unless God guides me to keep fasting. And no, it's not what you're thinking; this is not an April Fool's joke. Not to make this about me, but I've been building up my fasting tolerance for years now. I've fasted for 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days on separate occasions, on nothing but pure, distilled water. I've fasted 3 days more times than I can count. And I've been consistently fasting 24-36 hours per week for years now. I feel all this fasting has culminated into me embarking on this (at least) 13 day fast. It all started when I read The Miracle of Fasting by Paul C. Bragg. Since then, I've enjoyed reading many other credible fasting works, one of which is The Science and Fine Arts of Fasting by Dr. Herbert M. Shelton, a man who has fasted more people than any other doctor in recorded history. Again, this is not about me, although it may seem like a personal testimony. To put it succinctly: I'm not sure who will read this, if anyone will believe it, or if anyone cares; that's not why I put this on here. I certainly won't be telling any friends and family, so this is really between us. Inasmuch as my profile on here is anonymous, I feel comfortable sharing this with whoever does read it. Other than this info that I share with you now, this fast is in secret. Who knows, someone may benefit from it. It may inspire someone. That is more along the lines of my intent. At any rate, this will likely be my last post on here. As you can see from what I've already posted, I've had my fun in the world. For the good of all concerned, I'll share one thing I've observed, one thing that I've learned from fasting: Although pleasure is beautiful, as all of existence has an intrinsic aesthetic beauty to it, it is ultimately enslaving. I've discovered a lasting joy with regular fasting. It's now obvious that pleasure is one level of pleasantness and joy is another. Although pleasure is beautiful, it is binding. Joy is wonderful; above all it is liberating. I've found that fasting is invigorating--a safe, practical, and evolutionary opportunity for everybody, whatever their race, religion, or nationality. Whatever "their" personal history. It's an effective way to build up our Vitality.“

“I cannot believe I had to travel all the way to Saratoga Springs to find my favorite pizza in the US (versus my childhood Chicago stuffed pizza that some say is not really pizza). 9 Miles East is a great combination of pizza place and small store that sells products from their namesake farm. But this pizza was a work of art and took me 48 hours to eat. The addition of hot honey drizzled over the cheese was genius and made a great product even better. In the words of Dave Portnoy: "The undercarriage, to die for!"“

“My wife and I recently decided to try Scallions Restaurant in Saratoga Springs for lunch.A few years ago this restaurant was on our list to try, but when we stopped in for dinner, we stood and waited for several minutes, and no one greeted us when we arrived and were at the podium at the entrance, so we just left and went elsewhere, and hadn’t been back. This time was very, very different, and we regret not going back to give them another try sooner, as the experience was simply “excellent” in every regard. We went for lunch, and it wasn’t too busy. We were greeted immediately upon our arrival by a friendly manager, who asked us where we would prefer to be seated. We chose a small table by the window, and were presented with menus and a list of beverages, while she promptly brought us glasses of water. The menu had several choices that looked appealing, and as we looked it over, we each ordered a glass of wine, which was generously poured and delicious. We noticed that French Onion Soup was the “Soup of the Day”. This is one of our favorites, but we are highly critical, and usually disappointed. This was NOT the case today. More on that in a couple of minutes. . .As the main course, my curly headed companion ordered one of the specials: Salmon on mixed greens that came with chick peas, onions, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and goat cheese, with a house dressing. I opted for Ryan’s Roast Beef, which is one of their paninis served with smoked mozzeralla, roasted red peppers, arugala and horseradish cream on grilled farm bread. The soup arrived and our first impression was positive. It had melted cheese (swiss and gruyere, I believe) baked and dripping off of the sides of the bowl, and under that delectable cover was a deliciously hot steaming mixture of soup broth, tender cooked onions, and croutons that were seasoned to perfection. We agreed at that point that whatever else might happen, this meal was already in the “success”column. It took some effort (which is a good thing with this soup) to get every last piece of cheese off of the bowl when we finished the soup, but it was worth it.Then came the entrees, and our experience continued along its pleasant mid day path:My wife truly enjoyed her Salmon salad, and was contemplating asking for the recipe for the house dressing, which was clearly the invention of the chef.I loved the Roast Beef sandwich, which complemented the lingering taste in my mouth of the French Onion Soup.Being retirees, we took our time with our entrees and wine, and were the only customers remaining in the restaurant when the dessert choices were mentioned. We typically skip dessert, or only peruse the menu to count the calories we would avoid by not ordering, but this time, we opted to split an order of Toll House Cookie Pie. We were again delighted with the taste and portion size of this treat. It was warm, appropriately gooey, and topped with fresh dollop of whipped cream.Throughout our dining experience, our server checked back with us a few times, engaged in pleasantries, and was a delightfully friendly. We’d give Scallions 5 stars out of 5, and would recommend it for lunch. We will be back for more lunches, and for dinner to try that menu out as well.“

“A friend took me here today. She said they have the best cider donuts. Where I live, the cider donuts are available only in the fall, so I was surprised that they are at Fo'Castle year round. I purchased a cute garden pig for my neighbor and two cider donuts. I just had one of the donuts. Holy cow. I don't even know how to describe. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Delicious. Totally recommend!“

“We were in the area visiting a college. One of the staff at the college recommended Thorn and Roots. We decided to try it because it was close to our location and we were hungry! We each ordered a full salad- chicken Caesar and Buffalo chicken. We also ordered the mixed berry smoothie. The salads did not disappoint. In fact, if you are only mildly hungry get the half. There was so much awesome stuff in each bite. Enough chicken, grape tomatoes, shredded Parmesan, and bacon for each bit! The tahini Caesar dressing was delicious! My dining partner said the Buffalo chicken salad was equally jam packed with chicken and fixings. We ordered take out and it was ready super fast! The entire place appears clean, well lit, with a fresh modern feel to it. The staff are great! They have a to go shelf where they place your order so you can walk in and grab it and go. All this despite someone in the establishment needing an ambulance- which pulled up as we arrived. The staff continued to provide great customer service despite this going on in their establishment.“

“Omg! So good! Charlotte and Arnole are the best! I went with their recommendations-do the same-you won't be disappointed. Charlotte's descriptions were right on. Service was fantastic-very friendly and attentive. They will make you feel well taken care of! Food: wedge salad, pasta special (bread to soak up the sauce), and zeppoles. You know your meal is delicious when the zeppoles are your least favorite. Try it-you won't be disappointed!“

“Very nice atmosphere inside. Got a roll, samosa bites, and a rose lassi, all for very reasonable prices. The food came very quickly. The samosa bites were especially good. I was a little nervous about the rose lassi because it is very easy for rose to be overpowering, but it was perfect! I’m really happy to have a fast casual Indian option nearby.“

“We started going to Hamlet and Ghost as a celebration of a birthday - and have since turned into regulars. We make sure to schedule our whole month around our trip to Hamlet and Ghost. Here's why.1. The menu is constantly changing. Alex and Alex do all they can to make sure they're using local and seasonal ingredients. This brings a freshness to each dish. And, even if some of the ingredients are the same, the end dish is slightly different each month, which leaves us interested.2. The Chef's Counter is an experience unlike most restaurants. Sit and converse with the kitchen staff. Marvel at the dance they do each night - and the attention to detail that only the best kitchens have. It's like basking in your best friends kitchen - while they do the only thing they love - cook.3. The flavors. In our experience, there are few Capital Region restaurants taking the risks Hamlet and Ghost takes. From non-alcoholic cocktails that mirror their alcohol brethren to creating croquets from duck confit, there simply isn't anyone pushing the envelope as much as they are. Oh, and they still have a burger, should you want that.In the end, Hamlet and Ghost is our favorite spot. It's ever evolving menu and flavors make it the kind of place you can't go once to get the full marvel of what they offer.Vegetarian options: There is always something for vegetarians to eat. Just look at the menu and you'll find both entrees and small plates that fit what you're looking for.“

“Last time I was in SS was 6 years ago. And the last place I ate at was Wasabi. Went with a group of co-workers and we were impressed with the sushi, for a land-locked town. Fast forward to 2024 and Im back, and it was equally as good. I went during lunch time, and it is $19.80 for the lunch AYCE. I walked in at about 2:15 and was greeted with "The kitchen is closing at 2:30". That's kind of s**tty for advertising until 3pm. Anyway, I ended up getting 4 rolls, which was more than enough. I went with the tuna roll, spicy salmon, spicy crab and Fancy Dragon Roll. This was more than enough. Although they sort of decided to change their hours for 04/26/24, I would still go back and recommend it.“

“to the people commenting on the lack of ambiance...? i think it is fine. for me the music is "ambient" enough, along with the lovely wall mural, and photos showing what the food is....not to mention the collection of both holly AND "bolly"wood stars and starlets, adorning a back side wall. the dining area is always SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, and the bathroom shines. they keep the prices very reasonable, which is a HUUGE plus for me. the food is always great, fresh, and tasty, not to mention a lot healthier than the traditional american diet. staff is attentive. i never felt they "watch to see how many dishes you take", as someone suggested. they are likely making sure people get FRESH plates with every visit to the steam tables., since this is actually a restaurant/buffet health law...i have never ever, once felt like they wanted to "rush" me out. they are always very welcoming and accommodating.. AWESOME SPOT. thank you, clifton park "shalimar".“

“Our favorite stop for drinks, small plates and aps! We ordered a butter lettuce, goat cheese and fig salad to start. Fresh and delicious. Shared shishito peppers, bacon wrapped dates and Brussels. All exceeded expectations. Our server ( and I'm sorry we don't remember your name server 419) was amazing! He was fun, professional and timed the shared food perfectly. Our drinks were a white sangria and blood orange margarita and they were excellent.“

“I typically love Indian food but felt that the vegan chana masala I ordered earlier this week fell short of expectations. The dish lacked the usual depth of flavor that I am accustomed to at most Indian establishments. The saving grace was the additional side of onion chutney which I added to the dish to give it a little extra flavor. Papadum was good (along with the chutney and tamarind sauce).“

“Great bartender, friendly bar and home-brewed beer (even though I'm not really a beer drinker) - great atmosphere.......Buuuut the Wagyu-BLEND beef burger was not very good...... I was looking especially for a juicy burger and the Employee out at Roosevelt Spa & Springs recommended Druthers, so I checked it out, but I was disappointed because it was a thin 2-patty burger, NOT juicy at all, not fresh, (maybe frozen?)......... I even ordered 'the works' with an egg on it, fried onions - it was the wrong choice........ Should have went with the Macaroni & Cheese! That looked good from another customer at the bar......... But the huge warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup was excellent! Mmmmmmm good.........Parking: Got lucky out front on street......“

“The ice cream here is very good. I like that they have kiddy cones and the flavor variety and novelty of flavors is really great. However, like everyone else said, they are severely understaffed so you will have to wait a long time to get to the window if there is a line. Even worse, the ordering system is to queue behind each serving window, so if you step into the wrong line prepare to be severely bitter as you watch people in the other line who came 10 minutes after you get served 15 minutes before you. Why not set up a ticket system like at the deli? That would be much more fair. I'd only recommend stopping by when there's no line. They have parking, but you might not get a spot during peak times. Covered outdoor seating is available.“

“When I have a Mexican food craving, Mexican Connection is my go-to. My husband and I sat at the bar and were just in time for happy hour. With our first round of margs (house margaritas only $5 each), we enjoyed the chips and salsa. They offer two salsas: hot and mild. I could eat the hot salsa by the bucket-full. Tacos were on happy hour special for $3 each. They offer hard or soft with a variety of fillers: veggie, chorizo, chicken, pork, or beef. I ordered two soft chicken tacos, while my husband ordered three hard chicken tacos and damn they were good! The bartenders were top notch - very nice, attentive, and prompt. From conversation at the bar, it seems they get a lot of regulars. One couple comes all the way from Pittsfield Massachusetts each week to have dinner! Our bill was dirt cheap - $45 dollars for dinner and two rounds of drinks. On Mondays they have an all-night happy hour. We will be back for that!“

“Nice quiet place... Food was unexpectedly very good... And I say this cuz I personally find Thai places locally too sweet... But this place all the app, and entrees were delicious. The service was fast as well.. Only thing I didn't like was the bubble tea... It's pre-made and taste syrupy.. So that was a toss... But everything else was on Point! I would Def go again.“
