“Me and my daughter, enjoyed this restaurant so much during our Mommy and Me weekend! The atmosphere was laid back and quite relaxing. The service was superb and the food was so good, we had to order food to bring home. I would give this establishment 6 stars if I could. We were both very pleased and we will be dining here again very soon. If you have not been here, you should definitely give them a visit. Peace and Love, Chele from the Block.“

“This restaurant was on my list for a while and was happy to finally stumble upon it. Our waiter Johnathan was great, witty, and knowledgeable. We had the draft beer, esquites, tacos de Barbacoa, duck mole, and the pastry/hot chocolate dessert. Food was balanced and delicious. If I had to be critical for this restaurant to reach its peak success- I would say the mole did not come out as hot as it could have (was just slightly warm) and the tacos de barbacoa could have used more balancing and freshness to it. Would definitely recommend and come back“

“I literally LOVE this Authentic Mexican Restaurant! I have been coming here since I was about 5/6 Years old thanks to my father putting me on lol. Best prices and best coctel de camaron y Pancita!!!! Tacos are also good! Really recommend this small Gem! If YOU want oily over seasoned greasy stomach ache tacos this place aint for you! These tacos are not overly seasoned or greasy they are great tacos just like that.“

To add, service was fast and you always feel like your being served by a relative and not a stranger.

“I made my boyfriend take me to try the food with me and all I can say is we were not disappointed at all! We had a burrito and sopes along with two smoothies (mango and banana with chocolate). The meat was cooked well and had great flavor I suggest the carne enchilada some places don’t give it the unique flavor that reminds me of my tia’s cooking. The smoothies were great too. The mango tasted natural and my banana with chocolate reminded me of my childhood. I would for sure recommend to anyone in the area looking for yummy authentic mexican food. However the sopes did get a little soggy maybe because we ordered to go, other than that everything was delicious and we will be going back.“

“It had been years since I had been here . I saw it had changed , the decor was very nice, modern and beautiful artwork. It is small but a great place. I went during happy hour and $2 taco Tuesdays. A great experience, I highly recommend the strawberry mojito. Definitely will go back!“

“Grandma style cooking! Delicious, affordable, generous portions. Family owned and quaint. The burritos are the size of your head and the al pastor is amazing. The birria tacos are delicious so juicy to dip. Love the salsa verde on everything! Try the mole tamales on the weekends you won’t be disappointed- always fresh and steamy. If you’re looking for high quality home cooking this is the place to go. Happy to have you in our community- making City Island a better place. 10/10 would recommend to everybody.“

“I happened upon this little Gem because I wanted Mexican food and the place I googled was like a Bodega with a sink. Totally dismayed, I happened to look up and there this place was right before my eyes. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures, but I had the grilled chicken with yellow rice and refried beans and two chicken tacos. The food was well seasoned and everything, everything was DELISH. “I've been to Taqueria Lupita several times. I would definitely go more often if I lived in the neighborhood!! Such a gem! The prices are great value for your money. People are nice and the service is fast. My favorite dish is the handmade quesadilla, but I also love the tacos and the nachos. The carnitas are bomb too ??“

“I’ve been to this place several times. First, the food: it’s amazing and affordable. I get the chicken enchiladas with mole every time. Among the best I’ve eaten. As for the service, the kindest people you’ll ever meet. You feel like a guest in their home. It’s a very humble, small spot you might miss as you walk by it. But you walk in, eat your meal in peace and quiet, take a break. Just a great old fashioned place.

One more thing about the people who run it: I went in one time on heavy meds for a heart condition and forgot my debit card there. Looked for it for a couple days, then realized I’d probably left it here. I walked in and they had it waiting for me, gave it to me with a smile. Give these gentlemen your business.“
