I’m a first generation Nigerian woman in America, and this place feels just like my parent’s house or like one of the African parties I grew up attending. The food is also very good. I tend to compare it with Accra Restaurant in Harlem. If I had to choose between the two; I would choose African Pride because it feels like a safe haven for Africans and First Gens.
The best place on NYC that serves Nigerian food,customer service is also really great. The women who work here are always so helpful. I’d you’re looking for a place with good efo riro, or efo elegusi, this is the spot for you !Their okro is also really good , the Jollof rice has a real Smokey taste. I mean, first and foremost I can’t stop emphasizing how much revitalizing the food is after couple of drinks. The Staff is so friendly and accommodating, Specially mama Rabe, she’ll have you feeling like you’ve just discovered a brand new mom that knows exactly what your stomach need lol.
