“Finally got to try this new restaurant in my neighborhood, I had heard it recently changed from Vegetarian/Vegan to 100% Vegan so I was extra excited about supporting a local vegan restaurant. We ordered takeaway to bring over to a friends gathering and the host did an outstanding job on guiding me to the items that would travel the best. We ordered the Black Truffle Fried Rice, Dry Mushroom Fried String Beans, Black Pepper Sausage, Deep-Fried Mushrooms w/ Salt & Pepper, Dried Chili Beyond Chicken and a Stir-Fried Spicy & Sour Shredded Potato... It was ALL delicious, we loved everything we ordered. If I had to pick favorites I'd have to say the Truffle Fried Rice, Dry Mushroom Fried String Beans, Deep-Fried Mushrooms and the Dried Chili Beyond Chicken was a big hit too but you couldn't go wrong ordering any of the above! The vegan Orange Juice egg on the sausage dish was so unique! We didn't take any photos because it wouldn't have done the food justice. Inside the restaurant looks beautiful, it's sure to be an elevated and serene dining experience, I look forward to eating in soon!“
“Really nice place to hang after work. Love the atmosphere and the bathroom tip box and the feet only sink. Also love the blueberry crepe thing - I've never had such a dessert in my life. Got whatever wine the server recommended and it worked out well. The music was really good - chill but fun.“
“Curry and Handi has delicious, truly fresh, and flavorful food. I think it is the best Indian food I have had since visiting India 2 years ago. As a vegetarian I appreciate the offerings and highly recommend the broccoli tandori. The service is excellent as well.“
“We were in town for a day en-route to the Caribbean on the QM2 and discovered this place, and are so pleased we did.Fantastic, friendly and welcoming staff - great atmosphere and quirky. Was a highlight of our holiday to stop by, but most importantly the food. The burgers were to die for, honestly the best I’ve ever tasted! We will definitely make another visit when next in NY, even if we’re not on a cruise. Fantastic choice of beers too.Big well done to all team from some very happy customers from the UK.“
“This place looks like a classic take out Chinese restaurant. The only difference is that this place is all vegan. In addition, the options aren't your classic Chinese food takeout options though they do have some of those too. There is definitely more variety here in terms of offering burgers and various noodle dishes. My biggest gripe with this place is that they serve all food in take out containers which is fine for take out but would like plates for dining in.“
“Went there with my husband and was greeted by a nice man who buzzed us in. He welcomed us with a smile and warmth, which was nice on a cold day. We went downstairs, not knowing what to expect, but was greeted by another nice man who explained things nicely and made us feel welcome. Their smiles seemed very genuine. The space is open for being in a basement and a peaceful atmosphere for being in the heart of Brooklyn. Something unique and special about the food, that in the end really made us feel quite nice. When we were leaving the man in the front , I think his name was merari ( I remember because he said it rhymed with Ferrari) , after sharing him how we felt after eating, told us is that every meal is prepared with love "our secret ingredient". What a wonderful experience with really nice people. Thank you Govindas !Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian made with love“
“Super delicious vegan sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. These sandwiches really nail it! Bread is delicious, faux meats are very yummy. Also make sure that you go for the fries! ? This is not fast food, so order ahead if you need to make a quick pickup.“
“Blown away by this God sent place ? well worth the stop. I am so appreciative of your brand and the beautiful souls that represent it ❤️ ✨️ I took my sister for a healthy snack she smiled the whole time in satisfaction ❤️ we will definitely be back. Thank you. I will highly recommend them to all who pass by.“
“The food is awesome, howeverSometimes I feel like they're afraid of black ppl.,and can be stingy with the sauce the sweet chili to be exact, also I ordered something from the lunch special around 3:45 PM right before it ends, and I got there little after four and they told me my order was never placed,so before you order, make sure you pay“
“The food was delicious and generous. We came in on a Tuesday afternoon, so it was very mellow and low-key. Our server Stephanie was very friendly and attentive. The music was very catchy and the overall atmosphere was very nice. Will definitely visit again“
“Had the Island Storm and Green Vibes minus the honey, smoothies…they were just right and refreshing on a hot sunny Summer afternoon. Also had the jerk plantain, ackee, and callaloo Patties. They were flaky, light, not overly filled, not greasy, satisfying and tasty. Nice for quick bites on the run or chilling at home. I dined in. Just really cool vibes on a hot day.“
“Stopped in for a hummus plate with falafel. Comes with pita and bunch of veggies. Generous on the hummus but only three small pieces of falafel. Plenty of veggies and pita. One gender neutral restrooms. Seemed like it was remote work friendly.“
“Oh boy…where do I begin. My partner and I are just passing through town in need of a bite and this place delivered everything and more. He eats meat+cheese+etc. I’ve eaten vegan since 2019 and have been let down a LOT. Not so with this place! Both of us received heaping portions sampling a bunch of their offerings. I ate seitan, chana masala, collard greens, some veggies, and what seemed to maybe be a creamed kale? He got okra, rice, greens, and a serving of their real/non-vegan Fish. He commented that this is the best breakfast he’s had in a while and I couldn’t agree more.In and out the door in under 10 minutes, each with the aforementioned dishes plus a drink each, all $35. Are you kidding? I’d WALK here from my home in Chicago to eat it again. 35 dollars that’s crazy cheap for how good it was. There’s a place in New Orleans that is also vegan that serves a similar style that has been my white whale for years. I can’t remember the name. But luckily I have Ital Fusion in my phone forever now - even BETTER!“
“This is a 5 star vegetarian find. The restaurant is entered through an enclosure that looks like a big phone booth. To access it, you go into the enclosure & down a steep flight of stairs. Hold onto the handrail. It was about 7pm & smelled of incense when we entered. We were quickly greeted with menus, then a pot of hot tea, chopsticks & and small bowl of roasted peanuts were brought to the table. The hostess answered any questions we had. We decided on stewed eggplant clay pot and Korean Veg sliced fish with bean curd clay pot. It was not clay pot like I enjoyed in Hunan with rice in bottom of pot. We had to ask for white rice. We had to ask if entire menu was vegetarian because it referred to meat dishes but we were assured that it was 100% vegetables. $30.50 total for our 2 dinner meals, plus tip. The only other table was done shortly after we arrived but a table of 8 came in before we left & we could see an amazing multi course meal being served. The following day, I walked past it again & realized it was in basement of Buddhist Temple! No wonder we saw Buddhist Nun coming in & out of restaurant. If you are looking for 100% vegetarian meal, try it. It was clean with a simple decor. They have a nice deal for lunch with entree, soup, rice for $8.50 from 11am-3:30pm.“
“We got a falafel plate and pita. The falafels stayed soft yet crunchy on the outside, and were filled with amazing flavors and spices. Genuinely, it was the best falafel I’ve had, and I think it will be hard to top.The salad, pita and hummus were very authentic and great on their own. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. ?“
“Wow! I always leave a good review if their customer service is great. I came around lunch time on a Wednesday and the girl helping me was so sweet. My baby fell asleep in the car and she helped me order my food and deliver it to my car. The food was also nutritious and clean. Would come again!“
“Been coming here for YEARS. Never disappoints. Consistently amazing food!! Literally everything on this menu hits the spot. One of my absolute favorite places. So happy that as a vegetarian I can anything here !!Vegetarian options: One of the best places to get vegetarian Asian food!!! Enjoyed by vegetarians, vegans, and non vegetarians alike.“
“Wonderful! I had a falafel on pita and a honey comb dessert to go with. Very much delicious! I think they could’ve been more polite. The man was rushing me to pay - I had a child with me while I was scrambling looking for my wallet. Otherwise, great! I would def come back ?❤️(Also, VERY affordable. The falafel sandwich was $8 and honey comb pastry was $3 can’t beat that)“
“Bang bang broccoli is the literal best thing they serve. Watch out for there menu changes for example usually the sushi menu is always changing. Great vegan options and mediocre gf options. Depending on when your going service can change. Would suggest you go during happy hour and get some niece deals or order the sushi box to dine in. You can’t really go wrong 4 stars also watch out some stuff is really small“
“My partner, 5 month old daughter, and I wandered in for an early dinner and were treated with open arms and delicious food. Chef Michael and his son were incredibly warm, gracious and fun to interact with. Chef Michael entertained our daughter while we devoured our meals. The salmon is a must and we loved the Thai-Fi stew. Ital Kitchen will without a doubt turn into a regular hangout for us.“
“If you want an authentic Italian pizza, this is the place to go! The pizza is the best I've had for years! The pizzas are to die for and the staff are so nice and friendly! They not only have authentic Italian pizza they also have authentic Italian hospitality! Great place to experience the best of Italy in Brooklyn! NYC Birthday Clowns“
“The food is delicious and the owner is so kind! I found this restaurant while exploring the area and I’m so glad I went in. I’ve had the fresh juices and veggie platter. Both were amazing and very fresh. If you’re looking for healthy and delicious options, this is it.“
“Amazing food, so healthy, really considerate staff. Wow! The options are full of superfoods, hot plate and smoothies. When you walk into Italfari it smells like health. And health means wealth. The food and drinks are pricey but well worth it!“
“I mean, first and foremost I can’t stop emphasizing how much revitalizing the food is after couple of drinks. The Staff is so friendly and accommodating, Specially mama Rabe, she’ll have you feeling like you’ve just discovered a brand new mom that knows exactly what your stomach need lol. I definitely recommend to check it out.“
“This place is so good! Such a solid neighborhood staple. As a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised at how good all the plant-based dishes are (trying to cut back on how much meat I eat). The portions are generous too, and it's a nice change from some of the greasier Chinese food I eat. The lady who works at the front counter is super sweet - always nice chatting with her. The food always comes out hot and fast! Smoothies are great too.“
“I came over here for Lunch and the place is really amazing with lots of cool designs. Very welcoming. I had the Polish Mushroom Potato Tacos with Salad and Iced Matcha Latte. The food is so good and the Server is very Nice. I would highly recommend for a quick Lunch and Dinner.“
“She always remembers my face when I come (which isn't often) and those pepper and salt oyster king mushrooms are so good I dream about them. I really like their food and have been going there for years infrequently (because I'm so far away). I really love Buddhist food.Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian/veganKid-friendliness: Owner has two children herself and they're always present when I go. Definitely child friendly.“
“Food is great! Tom kha could use more vegetables. There weren't mushrooms or tomatoes in mine. Only onions. But it tasted good. Veggie rolls were fine. A bit overdone, but for the price were okay. Overall liked the food. Had it via delivery, so it might be 5 stars in person.“
“I love Tikal Café I always go for coffee and brunch, and now they are opening dinner with different options. I had the vegetarian pork sausage Ragu it was the best pasta that I had in the area for a really good price, I'm not vegetarian, but I'm impressed with the veggie ragu, I'm coming back for sure ? ? ?.“
“I come here multiple times a week, it's always amazing service & fresh food. I often have Sherman, Lucy & yaritza serving me! They always have a smile & mix the salad dressing in perfectly. Most salads in the neighborhood are over priced, undersized & often have to much dressing but here at just salad you really get what you're paying for with amazing service 10 out of 10 times. As a business owner in the neighborhood I know the importance of consistency & customer service & this place has it all!“
“Honestly this place is amazing!! If you’re around Bay ridge at least try this place once! The employees are really kind and super attentive to the customers. The atmosphere is also really good. I will say the pricing may be a little on the higher side but it’s definitely worth the food they serve. The food is exquisite, taste and presentation wise, also the drinks are amazing. 100% recommend :)“
“My favorite little vegan restaurant in Crown Heights. I’m a regular there and every dish I’ve tasted has been a winner. My favorites are the Raw Thai Salad, BBQ Seitan Skewers, and Black Pepper Seitan. The staff is sweet and attentive, and they remember what I like. This place is a gem.“
“Lovely vegetarian restaurant!Went here to get some healthy dinner on my birthday. All I can say is the food was SO delicious.Could use some improvement in terms of the looks of the space though. I'd give it 4.5 stars but that's not an option.Work on the upgrading the space. I'll be checking back and I'll upgrade the review if they improve on that.“
“This place is a blessing!!! This is the place I eat out at the most. I almost always google: “healthy food restaurant” whenever I want to eat out (as if I don’t already know what’s up) and 99% of the time end up here with 100% satisfaction. So delicious, healthy, gluten free, and vegetarian friendly, but they also have sustainable salmon which is so yum! Also everyone that works here is the absolute sweetest — I feel the love they put into cooking and serving. It feels good in my heart to support them ♥️Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly, gluten free,“
“My girlfriend and I got Just Salad for the first time tonight and it was fantastic! We got two vegan quinoa bowls and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. So tasty! Also - the staff was so warm and welcoming tonight (March 2nd)! They deserve recognition for how great they were! We can’t wait to come back!“
“After having enjoyed Bersi's eye-poppingly large platters that feed 3-4 people for $20-60 in total, not even Ras's lunch special ($18 bowls) seemed like a good deal. I did prefer the collard greens at Ras over Bersi's though. (Too bad I didn't try the injera at Ras for a comparison.) All that said, I did enjoy the Bole Bowl: the crunchy soy crumbles were a fun textural element, and the avocado injected creaminess into the mix. FYI, they have a couple of beverages with honey: honey wine and hard kombucha. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-08“
