We ordered for pick up and food was ready when we arrived. The spring rolls were not great. The skin on the spring rolls were super thick and they felt incredibly oily. Almost no crunch at all. The lemongrass chicken over rice was pretty good, a very big portion size. Overall, I think I would skip the spring rolls next time and stick to the tried and true chicken rice.
After a long walk on 8th ave (the mid-autumn parade) on a rainy day, we decided to get some pho. It's been a very long time since we came to Gia Lam (was one of our favorite restaurant back in the day). We ordered some pho and a large order of spring rolls. Perfectly hot and crisp spring rolls, drizzled with Sriracha + Hoisin sauce and wrapped in romain lettuce and then dunked in fish sauce dipping sauce- just yum. Very good food and wait time. Pho, roasted chicken and spring rolls are classics, very tasty. Workers are nice and prices don’t change a lot. Plus guava candy at the register. You can get chicken on rice for 8-9 or just chicken for 6.
