“What s special place, comforting like the smiles of Alessandro and his own daughter working on the floor, i took a friend for a birthday and what a brilliant idea that was. The food was on point , I started with fritto misto wich come really crispy hot n misto, it had zucchine and brussel sprouts with a variety of shrinp calamari and cod, also the aioli was tangy n acid My dinner date had the pici cacio e pepe e went silent when his plate arrived, while i had another appetizer fave and Burrata simply balanced and innovative. We hade few Sbagliato and few Negroni, perfection. Magically a Tiramisu w candle appeared at the table and my friend thought he was The mayor of Red Hook. This is what a local small spot does in all its mighty!“

“For appetizers we got the Rice balls with grated cheese and black pepper (creamy on the inside, fantastic) Meatballs in tomato sauce, Ricotta Cristini with truffle honey, hazelnut, and rosemary, and mozzarella en carrozza with tonnato. For the mains, we got the eggplant parm, chicken parm, and chicken milanese with arugula. Other than the eggplant parm being slightly too salty, everything was delicious. “Superb experience at a truly authentic American-Italian restaurant. Waiter was dressed impeccably and the service was perfect. And of course: the food was classic and simple, all tasting very good. The vegetarian hot antipasti, chicken parm and red wine were to die for!

One small thing: the vodka rigatoni was a biiiit overcooked (not al dente) and bland for our taste.

“Since it was our first time there, we decided to share a wide spread of dishes so we could get a real feel for the menu. We started with the insalata verde, then moved through a burger, the pizza padellino, trofie al pesto, and a frittata di pasta, finishing things off with a rich panettone al cioccolato for dessert. Everything was excellent across the board, with just a slightly heavier hand on the salt in a dish or two, but nothing that took away from how tasty the food was overall.

The atmosphere really tied it all together, cozy and low-key when we arrived, then lively and buzzing as the room filled in, without ever feeling too crowded or rushed. The staff kept things warm and welcoming the entire time. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back and work your way through the rest of the menu, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.“

The delicious pizza we ordered as an appetizer came out quickly and the reasonably priced bottles of wine were equally tasty. Both the lasagna and the homemade pappardelle with braised short ribs ragu were super flavorful and really outstanding dishes. For a $30 pasta entree, however, I expect to leave full - their portions were quite small compared to many other Italian restaurants we’ve visited.“

“We walked in late without a reservation and the hostess was so nice she managed to squeeze us in at the bar for “an hour” and was super clear about what we’d have time to order etc.

Then she somehow worked some magic and was able to give us extra time so we could order dessert too. I was super impressed with how she balanced honoring her other reservations while still squeezing us in and letting us have a really sweet/cute date nights excellent experience and would def be back.

Also food was STUNNING. The giant bow tie pasta was amazing and the strawberries and cream dessert will def be remembered.“

“Caesar salad is excellent. Not too much dressing, the croutons were perfectly crunchy without breaking teeth, and the freshly grated cheese was out of this world.

Mozzarella sticks: wonderfully melty and crispy but missing some sort of seasoning / salt.

Meatballs: perfectly cooked - firm but not hard. Soft but not sloppy. Really good.

Chicken parm: truly a massive portion, making it a weirdly good value. The included ziti side was great, though quite small relative to the massive parm.

As for the overall vibe I think they nailed it. Buzzy but not too loud. Kept the old feel without being too much kitsch. Service was speedy but friendly.“

“This is one of my go-tos when I have visitors from out of town! I always get the polpo and recently tried the cappalletti which was lovely. The atmosphere is really nice sitting outside on a summer night especially. Our server the past couple times, can’t remember their name but had bright orange hair, was so warm and welcoming and had great suggestions (including really knowing the drinks menu and giving us some good recs!)“
