5 Best Dive Bars in Buffalo

Rohall's Corner Bar • $$
540 Amherst St, Buffalo

“I fear leaving this review because I don't want the place ruined I loved it so much. Step back in time without all the pretension to a classic hometown bar. The owner Greg was bartending and filled us in on the history of the place having closed in the 80s until he opened up in the 2000s. There's no having to pretend to be old timey, the vinyl on the bar, the stools, and the walls covered in Utica Club and Schlitz is authentic to the place. We went for the Tom & Jerry's and I have to say they are one of the best in town, unlike a lot of places though they aren't pushing out big batches of the batter so you want to get there early to make sure you don't miss out! They serve them until new years. We weren't there long before the friendly patrons offered to get us a shot, everyone was so inviting and made us feel so welcome. Greg too. We plan to make it a regular stop even outside Tom and Jerry season!“

“Fun place , met a guy named Hammer there ... he seems to be the mascot of the bar. Hammer turned out to be a funny guy who really like to talk about pro wrestling , and he even got in a friendly but heated debate with a patron about Hulk Hogan vs John Cena ...Would have stayed longer but there was NO food available .“

“We loved the Audubon North the food was amazing and priced well. Warning ahead of time though the place is just a bar that serves food. So although the food and service were great the atmosphere is a little less family friendly. Also please note they bake their own bread and rolls.“

The Buffalo Bar & Grill Bar • $$
307 Louisiana St, Buffalo

“Somewhat nondescript outside but inside is a Buffalo history lesson and a great attached outdoor deck. No draft beer but the bottled beer is super cold. John, the owner/bartender/cook, is looking for everybody to have a great time. Try the wings. They are first-rate. Check out the Buffalo Bartender Hall of Fame plaque in the backroom. I have never failed to have a great time here.“
