“I really loved this winery. We decided to get food at this winery compared to the other ones in the area. The food definitely was worth it. I ended up getting the Fresh Seasonal Vegetable Quesadilla which was very good. The vegetables tasted fresh. I highly recommend their slaw (it has chipotle in it). The slaw was probably the best thing about the dish. The wine flight also came out pretty quick and all the wines were delicious.“

Althea's has a carefully selected variety of local wines and beers that give you a chance to taste test in one location. The liquor selection encompasses every taste and the food menu has something for everyone. Will definitely be visiting here on a regular basis.“

“Didn't know what to expect from the outside large building. Many places are seasonal, this is one of them. However, he just happened to be open. What a wonderful find!! Great veggie omelets and veggie wraps. The salad greens and fruit that was on the plates were a wonderful surprise. For the quality of food I found their prices low. Great gourmet coffees and espressos. I'd go every week if I lived in Montour. My friend and I plan to stop a lot in the summer while traveling to Watkins Glen. I'm going to try everything on the menu and hopefully get a chance to sit at their short bar AND sit outside in the summer!!! I plan on taking everyone I know there!“

“Visited this restaurant on a whim based on reviews last night after hiking Watkins Glen State Park. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!!!! My husband had the duck and I had the trout. We split the mussels and green salad. The wine the beer everything was fantastic and the staff is very attentive. Definitely going back again!!!!“

“If you’ve seen the movie “The Menu” this is the Seneca Lake equivalent however without the tragic ending. Watch the movie then go to this place because the food is phenomenal, maybe you’ll see the connection. In all seriousness great place to eat, recommend reservations in advance, if you love German cuisine this is a must while in the Lake Seneca region. Indoor and outdoor seating, it’s just a fantastic place and would tell anyone to go and give it a rip for the experience and food.“

Was recommended by a lovely lady down the road and I wish I could remember her name to thank her as this place was beyond perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer! such a cute cozy place to relax! “On our recent visit to the area, my wife & I stopped in Red Newt Cellars. It came highly recommended by friends we met on our trip. Glad they did.The person who did our wine tasting did a great job. Very friendly. Explained the wines well (forgot her name).We found their wines had such a great taste. Full bodied. Many to choose from too. Sooo good! Must have been. I know I bought every wine from my tasting. I usually never do that. We bought a case and probably 3 bottles beside that.Just like other wineries in the area, tastings were very reasonable. It was very clean, and staff was very friendly. View of Lake Seneca outside was great.We would definitely make this a stop when we go back. I know we will be purchasing many bottles again!“
