“Very pricey but understandable with inflation and all so it is what it is and it’s still good food. We each got a seafood boil and the sauce was good this time (it’s a hit or miss). It’d be great if they offered a platter option. I’m used to Monster Crab (I usually go to the one in Holtsville), where we would get so much more for what we paid.“

“This is my favorite steakhouse on Long Island. From the valet service to the bussers everyone is friendly and extremely welcoming. For the prices you cannot beat it for the quality of the food they serve. We absolutely love the thick cut bacon and always order an appetizer special. Tonight we had the pierogi which were delicious. I highly reccomend the ribeye as this is one of the most tender steaks I’ve had served to me. Better than most restaurants who claim a 45 or 60 day dry aged. The service here is fantastic you will not see an empty drink on your table and they do not leave any crumbs on your table. Desserts are always amazing. Tartufo is one of my favorites here and the cheesecake is delicious. DONT FORGET TO GET THE MAC AND CHEESE. That is one of my favorites on the menu. I could eat a bowl myself.“

“I can not believe that this restaurant has been here on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village for over 20 years and I never ate there!!! This is my new Favorite place to eat. The food was exceptional and good size portions. The pita bread they put out on the table was so delicious I could have made that my meal. The service was extremely attentive and so personable. We have frequented this joint over the years, both sit down and take-out (getting babysitters can be tough sometimes) and the owner obviously knows how to run a respectable and vibrant establishment. We like to either sit at the bar or the hi-tops behind it.As soon as we walk in, our eyes immediately move to the chalkboard with all the oyster selections. Last night featured around 7 oyster varieties from Long Island to PEIs, Pebble Beach, Massachusetts etc. We always like to ask our server (Rebecca was the absolute best), which ones stand out and she stated the Pink Moons. We proceeded to order two dozen total, sprinkling in all the varieties. It is heaven on earth here and when they deliver your trays, the convo immediately goes to whether it’s Mignonette or tartar and how much of a lemon squeeze. The absolute best. I told her if ‘Catch’ ever holds an Oyster eating competition , I want to enter…..and win!Our drinks were done to perfection. Filthy martini done perfect (stuffed olives amazing) for wife and Margs for me. We made sure to compliment the bartender.We shared the Soft Shell Crab sandwich for our entree. The taste brings us back to our Italian heritage growing up as kids. They even sprinkled bacon bits to go along w the regulars. Did not affect the taste one bit. Over the years we’ve had their soups, apps, fish dishes etc and I’m telling you, we eat all types of seafood and this place does it right.We highly recommend popping in here. “Last night we had a delectable dinner at Basil. The chilien sea bass jumped from the sea in my plate. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was cooked to perfection. The cuisine is light and tasty. My husband had the beef skewers which he enjoyed and he is very difficult to please. Desert got a high mark with the baklava and the chocolate bread pudding which you should not miss. “This place is small and mighty! Took my Mom in for a seafood lunch after finding Island Fish online nearby my work. The food was absolutely delicious. Mom ordered the lobster bisque which tasted just right, and a steamed lobster. which was delicious. I got a fisherman's platter which was spot on. I think the best part was Donna and Johnny took such good care of us as customers. So kind and fun to talk to. They treated us like family. Johnny was making soups at the time, and gave us some taste tests, and his soups are FANTASTIC. We tasted his she crab soup, the Lobster bisque and the shrimp corn chowder. All were perfectly seasoned and tasty. Order the soup.The whole shop is full of ready made seafood take home treats like crab cakes and seafood salads, and they have frozen crab legs and scallops too. “Good pizza please you can go pick your slice of pizza. They bake it in front of you. It was not bad. They don’t have jalapeños. I am from Texas so I was looking for that, but yeah, I did put like raw on the end and some kind of pepper on there, they have good stuff just go try it and you will like it. I gave him four out of five because I think I’ve had better pizzas or maybe I don’t know but just 4 out of 5 is good enough.“

“I'm a truck driver, me and my wife, we were delivering nearby. This place came highly recommended for my last stop on Long Island. Ended up being far far better than I expected. Tough to find good Italian authentic food these days. From the minute I walked in the door so accommodating, The food was to die for, definitely not finishing an entree. We were driving on the 27A and looking for places for dinner and we came across this place with very good ratings. Food is very good and well made. The Miso soup was not overly salted as some other Japanese places I've been. The décor is very typical of Japanese as it has these semi private booths which I have never seen before in any Japanese restaurants. Really liked this place and service was attentive. “Seating area has shade, but not much elsewhere. Food is somewhat pricey given the fact that it's on the beach. Outdoor bar. You can only drink in the designated areas because of New York State laws. Trio deserves 10 ⭐'s for both.This restaurant handles two types of food service, restaurant seating and catering for small to large parties. I've now experienced both. My most recent was a repast after a funeral. When everyone is emotional, the last thing the family needs is problems with the food service. Well, in our case, more people showed up than were originally expected. The staff at Trio didn't miss a beat. They set up additional tables in a flash and quickly had the tables set. We had buffet style dining and the selection was outstanding, with something for everyone. From soup to nuts, everything was delicious. They had fish, beef, vegetarian selections and even offered coffee and dessert. (by the way, if I had known how good the desserts would've been, I might have eaten a little less dinner.)The service is impeccable, everything is clean and fresh, the linens and tablecloths were spotless.I'd like to add that Trio is on the grounds of the Holbrook Country Club. You can grab lunch and drinks after you play, just show up and they accommodate parties of all sizes. You won't be disappointed!“

“I have no idea why it has taken me so long to try this place but I went in for my sister's birthday a few weeks ago. We ordered the wood ear mushroom salad, edamame and the Shanghai soup dumplings for appetizers. The mushrooms are reason alone to go back. My entrée was the dry pot chicken which came in a wok lit by sternos underneath and full of dried peppers with a perfect amount of Sichuan peppercorns. My mouth was oscillating between the delicious burn and the tingling and numbing effects of the peppercorns. The other entrées were fantastic. Beef flat noodles with a savory sauce, a mountain of port fried rice, and a delicious pork noodle dish. For dessert, perfectly fried and sugared sweet potato cakes. My one real regret is not going to this place sooner. Our server was lovely and the owners made my sister's day special.“

I'm surprised they don't have a higher rating. The food is consistently good. I just wish they had a few more things on their menu like duck and wontons with shrimp.“
