“I've been here twice. The first time was on a Thursday evening about an hour before closing, very quiet. The second was at 5:45pm on a Saturday, where we got the last available table, all counter and free table space was devoted to holding bags of take-out, and the waiting area was standing room only about 20 minutes later. The good news is that there was no difference in the quality of the food or service provided between these two distinctly different visits. My first experience was the intense aroma of the tea they serve, I almost couldn't wait for it to finish steeping. Strong flavor continued beyond with appetizers and sauces. The rolls were well prepared, accompanied by generous amounts of wasabi and ginger. Small amounts of wasabi enhanced the flavors of the fish rolls, no accompaniment was needed beyond that. For what initially appears to be a small menu, the number of rolls available is amazing. Service was on point, we received just the right amount of service and attention, and tea refills came out quickly. Even at the busiest times, there was no chaos, no backlog, no perceived problems.“
“The food is always good. I've yet to have a bad meal. 10 plus years of coming here. Last nights pad Thai shrimp was phenomenal as always. My boyfriend and son got chicken and they both were equate happy. Little spring rolls added to the best meal I could ask for. Thanks Mizu!“
“Went specifically for the hibachi, was not disappointed. Very tasty food, though obviously lots and lots of butter. Very accommodating with allergies.Dietary restrictions: Restaurant seemed super accommodating for allergy modifications in the sushi menu. Gluten free soy sauce available upon request.“
“Shogun in Delmar is our go to sushi restaurant. We usually take out, but occasionally dine in. The service is exceptional here. They truly go out of their way to make your experience a good one. The food, whether it be sushi or other things is always good. It's always tasty and fresh. If they have the Korean Surf & Turf roll as a special, GET IT! Trust me on this. It's in the top 5 things I've ever eaten. I wish it was a regular menu item. My other favorite roll is the Golden dream. The Pink Panther roll is great too.“
“First time here and really enjoyed the Sushi/Sashimi Lover combo. Truly fresh and naturally tasty. Comes with a miso soup and salad. Servers were friendly and the place was very clean. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Will definitely be back!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access“
“BEST all you can eat sushi in Albany. Most people know other restaurants for their all you can east sushi but Ruby City is way way better. Appetizers are included in the all you can eat, the sushi are big!, the lighting is nice, the decorations are lovely, it’s clean, the service is amazing, and the most importantly the food is sooo good. Get their gyoza! We got like three servings lol. This is our new sushi spot “
“I love this place only been here twice but it would definitely return when I'm in the area. The two delicious dishes I had I would definitely get it again. The server at the counters that her name is Jeep she's very very nice. I highly recommend this place.“
“This is the best sushi restaurant in the area. I have had sushi in Vancouver BC and this sushi is as fresh and top quality . It is fresh, generous portions and staff is over the top accommodating. I eat here 2x a week. They value family and look out for their customers. Also it is wonderfully priced! Love you all!“
“So good. Very fresh. Edamame was warm and tender and perfectly seasoned. Rolls were delicious. Love anything with spicy salmon inside and they have some excellent special rolls with spicy salmon in them. Great service too. It’s a little bright in there, that’s the only thing I didn’t like. Also very loud, but you could expect that considering it’s a busy, popular place.“
“Tomo delivers every time. I must have ordered take out 100 times and they are incredibly consistent in quality food and are always quick.Eating in the restaurant today was nothing less than excellent. The service is spectacular, the food is even better being so fresh out of the kitchen. Small relaxed atmosphere, and perfectly clean.I 100% recommend TOMO enough. Not only will I keep eating takeout, I’m going to make it a point to eat in the restaurant. Great experience.“
“I love Yoshi Sushi! If you're there at lunchtime do not miss the lunch special... 12.95 as of March 2024. See my picture... it's a creative repurposing of items left over from the previous day plus some rolls and nigiri. That fish under the sesame seeds is a slab of miso black cod.... incredible and worth the price all by itself!“
“Great sushi and appetizers - I do t think we have had a halfway decent meal, it has all been great. The sushi portions and appetizers are very generous. Due to the size of the location it does get very busy and there may be a wait, however it seemed like they have three different staff working each table to we were not left sitting and waiting for drink refills or sauce etc. if you can call ahead of time and get a nice window seat which will set the ambiance well for your dinner. Overall this is a nice cozy place with great sushi, just make sure you go fairly early in the Eve in to avoid the online order rush!“
“I am a very very picky eater for American Chinese and I will say that this place is the best buffet you will get in the capital region. I have tried all the Chinese food and buffets in Albany Troy etc and they ALL SUCK. But this one I give it a 4 for several reason. 1.) the food is a good balance of sweet and savory and if you have a heightened taste like me you will taste a LOT of sugar. If your a calorie counter I hope it’s you’re cheat day. The only inedible too sugary food was the general Tsos. I’ll repeat it again IT HAS A LOT OF SUGAR. The food for cost is worth it and if you want good bang for your buck for this type of Chinese food I highly recommend this place cause if you eat here you won’t regret spending money or even eating the food but you will potentially take a long nap/be hyper from all the sugar in the food. Honestly the only thing I would change is the amount of sugar in the food.Edit: This has become a 4 to a 5. Definitely less sugar.“
“Update: Still an absolutely amazing restaurant. They take so much care. Their service and quality of food is fantastic. By far our absolute favorite restaurant. The sushi is the best we have ever had.Our favorite restaurant. They have the best sushi and we have tried several places.“
“A jewel of a discovery. When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. Oh, and the hot sake is splendid and at $6/bottle an unbeatable value. SO happy to know they are just around the corner. Sorry bao buns place but you lose, SakeCafe wins.“
“Sooo good. I ordered through doordash they made me late because when I got there they had my order wrong it took about 30 minutes to get the food right and they didn’t give me any type of accommodations or anything but at least the food was fresh and it was still delicious Would like to come again maybe when I have more time.Follow me on Instagram for more @roze.gxld ?“
“Unagi is the BEST Sushi place in the area! During the Coronavirus Pandemic, they were closed for a few months and my partner and I were forced to eat from other Sushi places and ugh. None of the other sushi places on the East side of the River are as friendly, fresh, or as customer-minded as these guys. We went to other other places where the portions were skimpy, food wasn't fresh, they forgot our chopsticks, soy sauce was expired, poor customer service, etc. We've NEVER had any issue with Unagi. Every time we order out or dine in the experience is a 10/10. My partner and I used to live 10 mins away from Unagi and we would get it about once a week. Now that we live closer to 30 mins away, while we may not get it once a week, we will definitely make the drive for Unagi. Nothing else compares. My favorite is the 50 & 50 Roll :)“
“went here for dinner and the food was awesome, I ordered the mango chicken because it was not something I'd normally get and I was not disappointed, it was a lot of delicious food, my wife ordered ordered some crab sushi rolls and she was enjoying it alot“
“Oh my goodness gracious, hands down the BEST food we’ve eaten in the capital region. When I tell you that every single dish we ordered was packed with layers of flavors and we physically couldn’t hold ourselves back from “just one more bite”, I am not exaggerating. Each dish was prepared fresh with equally fresh and top-tier ingredients making every bite one worth savoring. I have enjoyed so many variations of Tom Kha up and down the East Coast, and in PDX but none come close to the deliciousness that we had tonight. Beyond the excellent food, you have the friendliest, fastest, and most attentive staff with the kindest service paired with a warm, welcoming, energetic atmosphere. Bangkok Kitchen just won our hearts and we are loyal fans that will be back again and again!“
“If you are looking for delicious Japanese food, you must try Nishiki! We’ve ordered sushi and sashimi here countless times, for years now, and it’s ALWAYS fresh and tasty. Some of our favorites are the Tuna Cappacio, Ninja Roll, Jonas Roll, and the Rensselaer Roll. Our kids like the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Philadelphia Roll. The miso soup is great and so is the Pink Lady Roll! Haha… we love it here. This little gem is run by the sweetest local family, especially Queena, who is always so friendly. Maybe it’s because she knows how good their food is! ?❤️??“
“This poke is amazing! Everything is fresh and tasty, and the staff are really friendly. Feel so good to have large bites with a spoon after mixing everything together. I'll suggest to have the cucumbers cubed instead of slided so that will be easier to mix. Anyway, all good, definitely return to get more!“
“This place wasn't bad. We were seated right away and service was fast. They had some more of the unique rolls I have seen in the capital district. All the rolls tasted fresh. My husband had a roll with steak which he liked. The drinks were just okay, a little inconsistent. My husband wasn't in love with his first drink so he got a Blackberry Margarita (which was my first) and it was good but it didn't match my drink at all.“
“First time here and the food was delicious although there was one worker at the restaurant. it took a bit for the food and everything to come out. The atmosphere is nice and the menu is huge which I don't mind. The tea should have been served in tea cups not glass cups. Keep up the good work. It's a new sushi restaurant so it will take time for them to improve. Come on in and try them out.“
“Mr. Fuji has been our preferred Hibachi restaurant. I don't think we've ever made reservations, and there are just three of us, but it never seems to be a problem. The longest we've ever had to wait was 15 minutes. Easily accessible, the people seem nice enough. For the most part, the food is pretty good. Every once in a while, we get a chef is isn't as good as the others, so we've had one or two meals that weren't outstanding, but we mostly enjoy. I do wish they'd check on us a little more often when it came to drinks (they don't seem to happen by all that often once they've delivered the drinks or appetizers), but I can usually flag someone down when we're completely out of water, soda or alcohol. One of the best parts about Hibachi is the chef, right? Well, these folks are usually pretty fun, too. There has been one chef that doesn't seem to really get into the show, so that one was a little bit of a bummer... but there was another dude who actually made balloon animals for all of the kids at the table. I'm not kidding, that was awesome - no special occasion, it's just what he did! Yep, we'll keep on coming back. We like it there.“
“I am not a Chinese food person. However, I actually enjoy this restaurant. So far, I have tried the house fried rice, house noodles, orange chicken, curry chicken, chicken Satay and crab rangoon. I actually think crab rangoon was tasty and crunchy. It has authentic flavor. I thought the curry chicken was flavorful and not heavy. I say my fave so far is the house noodles. It has all beef, chicken and seafood. I also want to mention, the portions are huge and the price is reasonable. I have only had take outs but I will be a repeat customer. I would recommend as Chinese food go, there is above average.“
“LOVE the atmosphere. The Food and drinks are always great. And the service is excellent. My husband, Our friends and i made our first visit a few months ago, and had Mac as our waiter. very welcoming and knowledgeable. He even remembered us a couple weeks later.Kudosl“
“I called earlier in the week to setup a reservation for a large team dinner before a basketball game. I spoke to Lou who was great to work with. We had about 56 people that evening and he assured us he could accommodate that many people. We arrived at our reservation time and only had to wait a few minutes for the tables to clear. They gave us the whole upper dining room, basically 4 hibachi tables. Everything was fantastic! Service, food and experience. The team and parent had so much fun that evening. I cant thank Lou and the team at Koto for taking great care of us. We will be back again!“
“The sushi I had was delicious. The sweet n sour chicken was the best we'd ever eaten. However, my kani salad was sad. There was barely any crab at all. It was a bowl full of luttuce with barely any crab that was mixed with crunch. Kani salad should be very little lettuce with plenty of crab and crunch. I would've given 5 starts if kani salad was worth the price. Everything else was fabulous. We will definitely be going back.“
“we love tengu asian bistro! it's our favorite place for sushi! especially today...I think we received the best grab Rangoon ever!! idk what is different about it, but it almost tastes like there's a coconut flavor in them as well as the dipping sauce. they were great to begin with, but whatever was done differently today was even better, keep doing it!“
“First time hibachi for my daughter's sweet 16. Great experience great foodKid-friendliness: Sat in hibachi, my kids don't eat everything but they worked it out so they got what they liked and I wasn't charged for a ton of unwanted food“
“The food was good I definitely would come back. Their rock shrimp is different from other places smaller shrimp and fried hard but good. I just wanted more rice that’s why I gave it 4 stars and cause the shrimp was small. I had the chicken and lobster hibachi.“
“Been coming here and ordering take out for the last three years I’ve been in the area. I’ve never been disappointed. Sushi is fresh always and the hibachi is great. The staff is really attentive and friendly too. I would recommend the teriyaki lunch specials or any of the special rolls. The udon bowls are great too.“
“I ordered a Spicy Salmon roll and a Philadelphia roll. They were excellent. Also ordered some wonton soup and shrimp spring rolls. Wonton filling was a little fattier than I like, but everything was good. Definitely ordering sushi from here again.“
“My FAVORITE restaurant!!! So gooood. The location doesn't reflect how GOOD the food is but i would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND going here. My family and I have been going here for years. Prices are totally reasonable and DELICIOUS. The woman that works here is the sweetest and the survice is so fast. I'm greeted with a smile and such an amazing atmosphere every single time. Their gyoza and miso soup is to die for. Any sushi on the menu is extraordinary.“
“This is where my partner and I went on our first date and where we just went for Valentine's Day. It is a great place with excellent food and service. And very reasonably priced. We will keep coming back to celebrate special occasions. The rose was a nice touch.“
“My friends and I were passing through the state the day after the solar eclipse. Our last dining experience was absolutely horrid. THIS place however, got it all right. Vibes were impeccable. The food presentation and taste were spectacular. Our server, Susan, was so attentive and sweet. Five stars and my sincere thanks to all the staff!!“
“Phenomenal! This was my first time trying Burmese food, and it set the bar so high!!!Everything was so delicious! I got the lunch special, which comes with a small salad and soup - both were surprisingly delicious! For appetizers, my party and I ordered the fried tofu and tea leaf salad. The tofu was home made, and it showed! So flavorful and soft :DThe tea leaf salad was amazing! So delightfully crunchy with the peanuts and sesame seeds and cabbage, so very flavorful with the tea leaves and garlic oil. I loved it and want to try all of their salads! For a main, I shared the tofu curry and egg plant curry, and both were amazing! The tomato curry sauce was so delicious.I also got the Burmese tea - it had milk and a splendid spice profile that was just so comforting!!Lastly, we had the tapioca pearl and coconut milk dessert, also lovely!I wish I was more eloquent with describing flavors, but trust me, you need to try this place!! Every dish we received and tried, we were blown away by the depth of flavor!!This place is unassuming looking on the outside, but don't let its subtlety and quiet appearance deceive you. This place is bursting with flavor and authenticity. It's a family run business. I want to go back here as soon as possible to try more of their menu!Vegetarian options: The homemade tofu is amazing! They have lots of delicious salad options and a wide variety of vegetarian mains.Parking: Street parking- it was easy enough for me to find a spot for lunch on a weekday.“
