“I was visiting and taking care of my aunt in the area and my parents drove us to the 202 Diner. I'd never been here before but instantly knew what I wanted without looking at the menu. I knew that I had to try a cheeseburger with fries and a Diet Coke, my favorite diner food. I didn't have to look at the menu to know that they would have it. I also of course asked for dipping ketchup on the side. When my food came in a decent amount of time, I took note of the fact that my fries were warm but my burger was a little cold. It was still really good, but it could have been a little warmer. I know that I ordered my burger to be as rare as possible, but that shouldn't affect the temperature. Don't get me wrong, the food was still good, and I had a good time with my family. The bathrooms were clean, and our tables were clean too. The waiter who took our order was also friendly, and the prices were fair. I can't complain too much.“

We were a party of 5, I called ahead to make sure there would be a table for us. Although we didn't need a reservation, she prepared a table for us. All 5 of us loved our breakfast. “Our church committee brought a minister candidate here for a get-to-know-you lunch and it was the perfect spot for it. Good food, relaxed atmosphere, and, above all, superior service. The fellow who waited on us, Evelio (I forgot his last name but I’m pretty sure I got his first name right), is a special human – supremely capable, thoughtful and friendly. He handled our large group beautifully. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll ask for him as our waiter!“

But it's mostly what you'd expect from a diner. Service was passable, food was just okay. Having said that New York is known for its diners. There are many very good diners in NY. I would say this one is right smack in the middle of the pack.
