“A small place that should be big. The food is delicious, the attention of the two guys there is incredible, the place is impeccably clean, the prices are reasonable for the amount of food they serve... anyway. Don't hesitate, if you have the opportunity to go, go and enjoy something really delicious and cozy. ??“
“I. Food II Ambience III Predictability I. Food Slow roasted pork - most excellent. Most excellent. Rice with beans - very nice. Octopus salad - great dressing and bits of salad, and I think I had mistaken expectations. I've only had grilled octopus in the past, at white table cloth restaurants, and I'm guessing that those octopus samples were massaged and massaged and massaged. (Remember the great movie, Jiro Dreams of Sushi? One of the sous chefs had to massage each octopus for 45 minutes before it was considered ready to be presented.) The flavor, by way of the dressing, was great. The octopus itself was tough, maybe because it was marinated and not grilled. How tough? It took me a couple of tries to spear a piece with a metal fork and longer than that to fully chew it. If you're good with that, then it's a must have. II Ambience Yes, it's a food truck by a school playground with no seating. Puerto Rican (?), Mexican (?), Latin X (?) music at a strong but not conversation-killing volume spills out of a speaker, all upbeat, great arrangements: horns, strings, and of course percussion. It'd be great music for a party or festival. Which Lechonera basically is. III Predictability So. Google has it opening at noon, and a 2015 GrubStreet review ( has the pork coming out in batches at noon, 1:00, 1:30, 2:30, and 4 p.m. Today, 4/28/2024) we got there at 12:45, and there was a line of about 50 people. No movement on the line. I asked people at the front what time they'd gotten there and they said 11:30 and that people had started lining up at noon. The first batch came out at 1:20 and the people in the front of the line went in at 1:32. We ordered and got served around 3:20, though they didn't have the shrimp pastillos or the mofongo. So, overall: fun party atmosphere, excellent slow roasted pork, and leisurely service, at least today. It took 2 hours for 50 people to be served, which isn't crazy slow, and if the first batches had come out at noon, as advertised, instead of 1:20, our wait would have probably been one hour instead of two. I'm glad we went. The vibe is great, the pork is succulent with a beautifully crisp skin. But it'll probably be a while before going again, and if the food is slow to come out and the offerings spotty, we'll probably move on immediately instead of waiting. And waiting. And waiting.“

“Great restaurant with great prices, great food, and great music. Service is fast and friendly. Wait time for food is very low. The restaurant is clean, restroom is clean too. There is also a bar inside for anyone wanting a drink. Outside seating available too.I've been several times now and the food never disappoints. Have had the breaded chicken breast with fries, breaded shrimp with rice, beans, salad, and sweet plantains. The bandeja paisa is also very good. The portions are great.“

“I’m so happy that I ignored the reviews and ordered from here anyway. I’m Colombian, so if I think the food is good it’s because it is! Their hot chocolate was authentic and delicious! Their buñuelos are huge which is a plus! The portions of their dishes are perfect. I was extremely happy with my order. I’m so happy that I was able to order through seamless and they delivered to me 2 miles away. My food and drink were hot and fresh! I was so delighted that I even called the restaurant to thank them because their hot chocolate spoke to my soul. I can’t wait to try their soups over the weekend.“

“Went here for a breakfast/brunch with my mom and we got the Mexican and Colubian breakfasts along with a coffee each. We also got the guacamole and jalapeños sauces.Coffee was very nice, not too strong and very smooth. My mom loved the Mexican breakfast. The beans were very flavorful and the egg scramble paired very well with pickled jalapeños. The tortillas were nice and hot and didn't break apart even when piled high with beans, rice, and eggs. Highly recommend.I also very much recommend the Columbian breakfast which came with an arepa with cheese, steak, and the same egg scramble. The steak was pretty good. While thin and cooked all the way through, it was crusty, well seasoned, and tender. I poured loads of the jalapeño sauce on top which was great. The arepa was also very nice, crispy bottom and nice gooey cheese. The sauces were also pretty good. I highly recommend the jalapeño sauce. A little kick balanced with a good sour and sweetness. The guacamole sauce was also pretty good, if a bit watery. The portions of the meal were perfectly good and filled you up but for $15 a pop, it's most definitely not an every morning meal. The highlight really was the service. Thr food arrived quickly and hot. The lady at the front desk was very nice and offered for us to finish our meals before paying. She seemed very enthusiastic and was happy to give me more jalapeño sauce when asked. The dining area itself was clean and cute. Nice music and vibes. The cushions on the seats were clean and not deflated and the tables were very clean.Overall, very nice place to eat with some damn good food. If you're looking for a great weekend breakfast/lunch, come here.“

“Absolutely love the food here! IMO, it is hard to find an authentic Colombian joint that serves luscious food and showcases their origin's unique flavor. Each bite delivered a delectable and VERY satisfying punch. From their homemade hearty beef stew to their generous portions of tamales...my family loved every bit of it. All you heard was "WOW" for 5 straight minutes as we all dug into our food. Their bakery also had a wide selection of baked goods, which my kids absolutely loved. All in all, El Punto provides great service, amazing food, and good vibes.“

“Had to drive my dad to an appt at the medical office next door so I ended up parked right outside this place. I was curious and popped in to get some empanadas to go. Just had them and they were really good. A little greasy but not sure if that was just because I didn't eat them 'just made', but they were delicious. They have tables but I don't know that I'd eat there - definitely a grab and go place for me. Flavor's good. Very authentic. If you're expecting fancy "white-washed" Colombian (yes that's a thing) this is not the place to go. If you're just looking for something tasty and not too expensive and real deal - I'd recommend it.“

“We wanted to try something new and came across this spot in Flushing. When we entered at 11 am, the restaurant was packed. We ordered a Colombian Soda, one chicken empanada, one beef empanada, Huevos Pericos con Arepa, Queso y Mantequilla, and Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos. The Colombian Soda was different from popular flavors in the US; it had a bubblegum flavor to it. The salsa that came with the empanadas was amazing. It had a little spice to it and just hit the spot. The salsa was so addicting. The eggs in both dishes were great, but overall the Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos stood out more. The steak in the Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos was flavorful and a nice piece.Overall, we would go back to try other menu items and their empanadas and salsa again. Their menu featured a variety of different dishes, as well as special dishes depending on the day of the week.“

“When we arrived there were people waiting in their cars so there was a line before the line could begin lol. Service is good, I'm not sure if they speak English so I suggest you bring a translator. It's a food truck that has basic necessity's so nothing special about the ambiance, there's nothing that stands out, besides the line. The food was good not spectacular, it holds up its good reputation because it's open late nights and they give plenty of food.“

“Small restaurant with limited seating, the menu has a wide variety of options, I highly recommend the loaded steak fries, think homemade crispy French fries with guacamole, steak, cheese!! That was so delicious!!! The breakfast platter can be shared and the coffee is delicious. The parking lot is crowded. Not pricey for the amount of food. The waitress wasn’t really checking up on us but the vibe is more of a cafe than a restaurant so that may be the reason. They were doing quite a lot of takeout. I would recommend“

“Super low key colombian bakery/restaurant, so don't expect too much ambiance but the food and service arengood. We came on a Friday before a concert at the UBS area -- and will come back every time before a concert -- Bandera paisa is big and filling, enough for 2 probably. Empanadas and Colombian arepas are good and the juices are fresh“
