“After a long weekend of hiking and mountain climbing in the Adirondacks, we stopped to eat on our way home. Fantastic meals for all 4 of us! French fries were the best we've ever had! Steak was very good! My son had a burger and loved it, my other son had chicken tenders and they were the biggest he's ever had and delicious! I had turkey club and it was delicious and huge! And again, the fries were AMAZING! Dessert also was well worth it, sundaes were huge and cheesecake was yummy! Waitress was very attentive and nice, and the owner sat us and greeted us at the door. Very cozy and welcoming! We will definitely go back soon!“
“Love this Old Timey Restaurant they also rent out there fairly good sized Banquet Hall area.Parking: Park right up front if you have a wheelchair and in the winter there driveways always plowed very well.Kid-friendliness: Lots of cool things to amuse kids.Wheelchair accessibility: They will even hold the door for you.“
“Warm inviting atmosphere and amazing service. With fantastic food. Can't go wrong, my family and I even got in a little late closer to closing but had no issues and were well taken care of. I had lasagna calzone, and they put loads of sauce on the side.“
“This was an unexpected highlight of a recenttripto the Adirondacks. Right off, I do prefer places that reflect the local flavor over places that try to reflect the tastes of other places. In other words, I appreciate authenticity. The Tavern on the Gorge boasted a friendly staff, good bar food and a welcoming atmosphere with a good assortment of beverage offerings. I happened to catch this place during a night whereby they had comedians from NYC. The comedians were very good and got plenty of laughs poking fun at the Afirondack lifestyles and values. The patrons appreciated this ribbing and a great night of unexpected fun was a much needed release for me and my wife. We will return on our next trip to the North Country to recapture this homespun experience.“
“First time eating here. It was awesome. They don't skimp on the serving sizes either. We were too full to eat dessert there, but we did get it to go. Their apple pies are delicious, and hubby says their coconut cream pie is really good too.“
