“I discovered this gem the start of 2024, and when I tell you the food is just excellent! Everything I have ordered thus far has been fresh, and made with high quality produce. This is a great vegan restaurant! In addition to their diverse menu they also hold events with certified dieticians and herbalists who specialize in detoxifying the body. I mean cmon, what is there not to like. The staff and owner are always so pleasant and welcoming. It is clear everyone working there operates from a high frequency of positivity and light. You cannot lose by eating here. Just WOW!“
“Yisel M was a great waitress. Very informative and friendly. She made our first experience wonderful!Kid-friendliness: Our kids love the atmosphere, right away they set us up with high chairs and kiddie cups, made our children feel right at home?“
“At the last minute, I decided to bring appetizers to my colleagues for the holiday and couldn't travel all the way to Queens. I stumbled across this takeout place after Googling "Haitian patties near me" (I agree with the other reviewer, though. You could miss this shop if you didn't know it was there. It's in a tiny strip mall with plenty of parking.)A quick phone call to Pops & Poosh confirmed they had a variety of patties ready for pick up - no pre-ordering necessary. Upon entering, I was greeted immediately (love that! ?). After drooling over the menu for a moment, I decided to add a meal to the assortment of patties I'd come for. I settled into a chair to wait thinking it would be a while but my food was ready pretty quickly. When I got to the office, I tasted the vegetable patty. Delicious! AND... this little place sold me the best, most tender/delicious lambi with black rice I've had in a very, VERY long time. That gravy... OMG! The side of mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. Mm mm mmm! Unfortunately, I only got to try the vegetable patty. I can only imagine that the beef and chicken were just as good or better since there was nothing left for me to taste.I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Hallelujah! No more trekking into Queens. I found my go-to spot.Wheelchair accessibility: The interior is a bit tight with a few tables and chairs but the entrance is at street level.“
“I ordered from Chef B's restaurant a few weeks ago and can't stop daydreaming about the food! I had their vegan platter like 3 days in a row consisting of curry chickpeas, curry okra, they also provided a complimentary okra rice with a bit of mango on the top...i mean just so delicious. Every spoonful of everything was just BURSTING with flavor. I can't wait to go back!!!“
“The service, staff and Food was Amazing! We were visiting from out of town to help a relative move and we are so happy we went here. We tried many dishes and everything, was Aaaaaaamazing! Try Chef specials , it will not disappoint! Thank you for very yummy dishes!Parking: 15 min on the street, right in front“
“If you are looking for amazing Jamaican food AND outstanding customer service, look no further! The owner only sells quality food and it is a family owned business. Amoya (hope I spelled it right) is mostly there serving the food whenever I go and she is an absolute pleasure to interact with. I can honestly say they serve their food with LOVE and GRACE. Money spent here is money well spent.“
“The restaurant and their food is definitely superb. We had fish, and curry chicken and it was beyond expectations!! The service was exceptional. Definitely now marked as a go to place for me! We found this place on google and I’m so happy that we went here!! Thank you!!“
“I went to Dunns River for the first time on Thursday night for dinner and to hear Jermaine. Wasn't disappointed. Everything was delicious. My friend had the oxtail. I had a taste and like other reviews the meat just slid off the bone. The gravy was on point. I had their special, which was stew peas. I can't talk enough about it. It tasted just like my mom used to make. I finished it all and was very satisfied. Jermaine sounded just like the artists. I actually questioned if he was lipsinking, but no his voice is just so good. The bartender also had an amazing voice ( he joined in on a few songs). The waiters also added to the entertainment by dancing. We both left there saying we would definitely be back.“
“The people and the food, juices, and elixirs are wonderful! What a find!!!! We had sone delicious fresh juice and the lovely woman brought us samples of their elixirs , which were delicious and so energizing. We had the spinach and lentil turnovers which were also delicious... I was not expecting such health food to be so delicious. We needed to sit outside because we had a dog and they were so concerned about our being in the sun that they offered to move their canopy over us.The whole experience was so filled with genuine love and kindness. I wish I lived closer, I'd be here all the time!“
“I did take out so I can't talk on the ambiance but as far as service goes they have excellent service and great timing. The curry goat is okay it wasn't spicy enough but the meat was seasoned and cooked thoroughly. It's definitely a look if you like medium hot curry.“
“This spot got the best doubles, aloe pie and their yuca cake which is also called pone is good. I had their curry chicken and rice which is also good, tried their buss up shot which js roti they are delicious and fresh. Love that you can get the doubles with chicken or without. Definitely a go to spot on the weekends, love the people love the food. Highly recommended for anyone who’s looking for some good Trinidadian food.“
“Please don't judge a book by its cover. Upon entry, we were greeted by a sweet young lady who seated us. Not even 5 minutes later, we were offered lemon drops. The brunch was reasonably priced and quite delicious along with my own personal carafe (straw included). The staff was attentive to my allergies (strawberries are the devil) and kindly catered to my ailment lol. There was a DJ and hookah on deck, so the ambiance was just right. The staff was very attentive and the DJ was oh so right( thanks for the shots). Overall, it was a great experience and I will come visit real soon!“
“The food is delicious. I got a combo plate of oxtails,Curry goat and j*** chicken side of mac and cheese and ordered my mama oxtail dinner the food is very good and they give you a lot for your money. I wish they had plantains and dumplings.“
“I've been here 3 times...their doubles are pretty good for a location in Queens Village...as of course Richmond Hill is known for the best doubles. They have a great bake and saltfish and Buss Up Shut Roti. I am addicted to their pepper sauce, although spicy! The ambience is casual dining. The people on Saturday mornings are very nice and attentive. The pricing is also pretty good for the food being served.“
“OK! I understand us as black folks suck at customer service but that food was so gooood no lies. I pass this place all the time but never gave them a chance because it just doesn’t look clean ?. But I was hungry late one night y’all and it was either them or their competition next door. I got the fried fish and shrimp combo with seasoned fries, I paid about $17 if I’m not mistaken. Everything was just hitting! I was cleaning out the tartar sauce container with some fries. I’ll be back“
“Ok so, this is gonna be long. Ok so I'm a Jamaican and usually stay away from Jamaican restaurants because lately they seem to be cutting corners. I'm a chef and from the old school of real Jamaican cuisine. That being said, the food here has flavor, some dishes are way better than others. The thing I don't like, is the outrageous prices for such small plates. I get it, people gotta make money but when you give your customers a little more, they come back often. Also, the waitress is nice but need training on timing. Bring utensils first and if its a couple, bring both meals together, not bring one plate then 10 minutes later you bring the other.. I like the mature Reggae music played while eating on Friday evening. Oh a live band at 10pm but different genre of music so could be socca , reggae or whatever . I prefer the reggae band. Now after the band finished, the DJ ticked me off. I hate when him cut upp the music after 5 seconds. People were upset about that. Dj could be ok but have no clue how to watch the floor. If see mature people, run the music n stop the cutting up and play the song Dem. Chu man. Me vex and leff. Hellooooooo. adults spend money suh if music nice people wi spend cause Dem dance and sweat. Ok so, i went into details n hopefully the owner reads this and edit as necessary cause my presence can expand your establishment if you listen. Great location , with some adjustments this place could sell aff. I do this for a living, go into businesses, assess whats , great and what needs adjustments and make suggestions. Get it done !! Place can be better and a winner with some twerks Good luck!!?“
“They need to make more breakfast, you have to rush there to get it before it runs out, by 9:30am. At least make enough for the people until 11:00, everyone clearly loves their breakfast but it’s never enough. I overheard women on line complaining about this, as well as my mom.“
“When I first went in the establishment, I was a little skeptical. The inside looked fairly old, and there was no menu to be seen; it seems this is because they vary some of their entrées and sides day to day except for their staple jerk chicken (this makes me assume that they actually care about the food they make and are more authentic, but its just a speculation). However, the lack of a menu was no problem. Since the staff was so nice and accommodating, they gladly showed me all the available food one by one and told me the price of what I wanted to order. I asked for a larger size platter, but I would've gotten a smaller size if I had known how generous they were with the servings beforehand. I got a large platter of jerk chicken, rice and peas, collard greens, and an empenada on the side, totaling about 18$ (13$ large platter, 4$ empanada), which compared to the jerk restaurants I have previously been to, was great value. The jerk chicken was nice and juicy, the greens went well with the rice, and the empanada with their sweet sauce was amazing! Definitely worth their hype, and I for sure will revisit them in the future to try out the other options.Tldr; great value, generous portions, delicious food, and very friendly staff. But just be aware that there is no physical menu available atm.“
“Everything you might even think about getting is delicious. The food is truly cooked with care! The service is professional and kind. And the location is in a large enough area to sit, if you wanted to. This is the only place I get breakfast in the morning when I come to work“
“First time going in person for sit down dinner, would always order take out. Atmosphere was loud, but expected since its a bar that serves hookah's. Food was really delicious and fresh. Server was nice and friendly. They also have a very beautiful outdoor backyard with lots of tables. There's also a name change, They're called One Bar and Lounge. Definitely recommend coming for Caribbean food..“
“The food is soooooo good! Like you think you have your favorite Haitian restaurant, then you try Belle Fourchette! The tassot is the greatest I've ever had \\u0026 I'm not a fried food person. Amazing! Every compliment to the chef!“
“Country life jerk is definitely a hidden gem. The food is authentic and delicious. To date i've only tried the jerk chicken, mac n cheese and soup and none of them disappoint. The mac n cheese is made with cheddar and is cheesy!! The jerk chicken is seasoned well, tender and portions are always good, even for the small sizes. In addition, they follow special instructions and the service is friendly ...top notch!!“
“The food is great, and Mother approved as its halal! I got 5 buss up shot roti and buncha veggies to go for breakfast. 2 different eggplant dishes, one of which is salsa consistency with onion and peppers. Also, curried channa, and aloo with pole beans as well as dhal, and few other mixed veggies. Everything was delicious with the roti. The roti was made fresh, so I had to wait 15 minutes. The staff was friendly and the place is clean and intimate with a few small tables. It's like eating a nice home cooked meal.“
“Beautiful staff and almost close to home cooking you can get . The fudge is especially delicious .Vegetarian options: They cater for a wide variety of customers needs and can accommodate most requestsKid-friendliness: They have a massive variety of snacks sodas and juices some made in house and some imported“
“Went for the oxtail, but they were out of them early. I guess that means they are goid. I like the goat curry. It is flavorful with a bit of bite. I like really spicy, but my stomache no longer likes spicy. Getting old sucks. This would make a good lunch gor me. Those that want more spice, ypu can always add their habernero hot sauce. They only have room for a few seats if you want to dine in.“
“I get takeout probably once a week from here. Bc it is that good. Like it is extremely good & the prices are average (you could say it’s a bit high but truthfully with the quality it is right on)1. This place is so clean.Every item I have gotten was delicious.Jerk chicken with macaroni and cheese-Chicken was flavorful & moist- so freaking good.Mac and cheese portions could be a little bigger to be honest but tasted amazing.Oxtail rice & peas and steamed veggies-Amazing! Could’ve skimmed a lil bit of the fat of the oxtail but I get it. Still so damn good, down to the peas & rice & steamed veggies all tasting amazing.Curry goat again another hit!Their patties are the best!!! Like soft flaky buttery, I get one every single time.I get a variation of these items everytime I go there and have not been dissappointed so they are consistent in good food.Definitely made this my Jamaican spot.Jerk chicken is moist while flavorful,“
“I’m from VA and I was at my brothers home for Thanksgiving in Jamaica Queens. The day of me leaving to go back home I wanted some authentic Jamaican food. Here it was!! The food is amazing, service is great. It’s very clean. I got the Oxtail with rice and all I can say WOW!! While I was there I asked the staff member ackee and of course she had it with fried dumplings. That was amazing ?! This will be ato go place for me every time I visit my brother. Thank you for your great hospitality. God bless you.“
“Excellent service and the food taste marvelous I give them a five star.Vegetarian options: Reggae Taste has a lot to offer toVegetarian, especially pescatarians. The seafood variety is very wide at Reggae Taste and I assure you if you like fish, you will get a wide variety of fish dishes at Reggae Taste.“
“You looking for a Caribbean spot, check out 12.6. I had such an amazing time.. The place looks good. I came in after work on a Friday with a couple of friends. The bartender omg ...Super friendly and the drinks.. let me tell you, yes it definitely was a punching. The food was great the jerk snapper and jerk salmon pasta, fried shrimp, calamari, wings and the rum punch , yesssss......Definitely visit this place. Big shout out to the Bartender Shorn for providing excellent service.“
“This bakery is named after the chef’s grandfather, Dan. We heard so much about it we had to visit while we were in NYC.What an experience - tasty, clean, variety. The chick Pattie’s were moist and flaky. The cheese rolls were flaky and cheesy.I highly recommend this bakery for your one-stop-shop!“
“They are very well clean . All the food is delicious I've had almost everything in that restaurant. I truly enjoyed the eggball , fried rice , oxtail , stew snapper , and all the veggie, breakfast . The customer service is great very friendly people I would recommend this place not only by it's the area but they are very clean .“
“Patronized on a Thursday. The bartender commented she was glad the music cocked out by a mistake and I had to gladly agree, because it indeed was a vibe, but obnoxiously too loud to even converse without screaming in your neighbors ear. The food was really good. Lamb was a little too well done, but I just sampled a piece from my friend. She may have ordered it that way. I didn’t like that the food took way too long to arrive. The drinks were good and strong. The tacos and my friends’ entree (the lamb) arrived first leaving me feeling awkward waiting. When I did receive my food, as I was enjoying the last of it, my friend got the check so we could pay and not have to wait as we wanted to leave by a certain time. Unfortunately, as we paid our bill the bartender automatically threw napkins in my 2/3 finish entree. Subsequently, she took away my meal before I could completely finish it while simultaneously dumping my condiments all over by accident. What an icing on the cake. The food was actually good, so I am complaining that I didn’t get to finish it.Lastly, I was able to park in the childcare parking lot adjacent to this business. Would I return again yes, but probably not at the bar.“
“The food is consistently good. Never had any problems with food or service. Owners make you feel like you are their personal friends. Little slow on the phone answering but that is because they are so busy. Well done Island Taste, keep up the excellent work.“
“Came here on a rainy Saturday night around 5:30pm, there was a happy hour until 7pm, which I love, most places don't have weekend happy hours. I got the rum punch ($8) it didn't taste like a rum punch but it was still strong & sweet. I had the curry chicken, rice & peas & steamed veggies, I enjoyed it but wish it had more spice. The Playlist was playing old skool reggae, hip hop & r&b. The bartender Keyosha was attentive & friendly. They have hookah after 7pm for ($35) , I shall return to try the hookah & red snapper. There's a lounge side & a take out side. This place is also very clean & easy to get to, driving wise & MTA.“
“Wow me and a coworker stop by on our lunch break and it was my first time here. The food is delicioussss, had a lunch special with spinach and curry goat which was flavorful and falling off the bone, not to mention the portions was huge. I had left overs for home and the roti (I never had) but I dip and scoop and omg sooo good. I think ima go back tomorrow ?? the short, older lady with glasses was also SO SWEET give her a raise ?? I have to bring my mom here next time she come to Queens!! ??⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Very good food. The 2 ladies were very nice polite and gave me fast service. The reviews are very misleading. Best food in the neighborhood. Oxtails tender and very good price and amount of food. Update I went back twice the stewed chicken is dry and then the plate of oxtails was not the same size lots of rice little meat. They were still nice but I decided not to make this a reg place I eat“
“We had an engagement party last weekend and had some Italian food catered. We ordered a tray of jerk chicken _and it was a hit....Everyone loved it.!!!!! I I ordered it mild, which was perfect. It was very moist and had just enough spice. I highly recommend jerk on the water(“
“Omg we visited this restaurant last night and everything was A+We both had soup to start delicious hot tasty soo goodNice clean atmosphereService was great, attentive and pleasantWe'll be back later for m l re soupLove it love it❤️ good luck guys“
“Good place to get some delicious food. J*** chicken with rice and peas was very delicious but be a little cautious with finding a few chopped bone pieces. Shrimp and chicken patties were delicious and flavorful too, with a very flaky crust. Friendly staff.“
“It was a Birthday celebration and the owner tended to us personally. She was so attentive and made our visit a true pleasure. The curry oxtails is one of the signature dishes and it did not disappoint. I was in the mood for steak, and I'm so glad I was. Our party had different dishes like the Elmont pasta (a play on Rasta Pasta), traditional oxtails, and of course my steak. It was my first time and the vibe was nice, the decor was soothing and the music created a nice ambiance for a wonderful evening. I'll be back.“
“My friend held a Christing after party at island fusion today 9/16/23. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was amazing the Mac n cheese boom all the food was so good would recommend this restaurant. Thank you guys for your amazing “
“From the moment you step in this place the personel give you a pleasant feeling. Very hospitable waiters, it is a nice restaurant to hang out with buddies or with your date. yummy food, specialist chef, decent price and courteous service. Highly recommended.“
“The staff and owners were friendly and engaging and happy to help us decide what to order. We were treated like family even though we were visiting for the first time.I had the whole snapper with creole sauce and black rice and my wife had the chicken with creole sauce and yellow rice with peas. Starting with a huge fresh salad that we shared and ending with a complimentary slice or two of traditional cake, every part of the meal was a delicious treat. The whole red snapper was cooked to perfection with herbs and thinly sliced peppers and onions and floating in a plateful of rich, fragrant sauce. The rice was piled high on its own plate and served with fried plantains. It was all accompanied by a small side bowl of spicy-hot relish made with pickled cabbage and scotch bonnet peppers. The chicken my wife had was tender and juicy and served with the same creole sauce. The food was absolutely delicious and what made it more special was the obvious care and love that went into the preparation and welcoming way that it was served. When people really care about their food and share it genuinely and generously, it draws you in and brings real happiness. Thanks so much for a perfect meal!“
