“Excellent spot for brunch, breakfast or lunch. Came here with a friend for breakfast. Food was on point and interesting, well designed menu. Service staff was very friendly and attentive. They remembered my friend from her prior visits. No hesitation if you are looking for a great breakfast brunch or lunch in Windham. Oh - importantly I thought the prices were very fair and offered a good value for the quality.“

“Rating based on dinner only. So far this is the best meal I’ve had on the mountain. We started with the mussels, had a Caesar salad and the salmon as our main. The appetizer and salad were both larger than expected. Salmon was cooked perfectly. The dining room was so cozy next to the fireplace. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.“

“We were looking for a cold drink and snacks after walking the rail trail. from Kaaterskill Falls. We were seated out on the patio, but loved the interior decor. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful as we tried to decide which beverages to order. I had the lemony yellow frozen thing, which was delicious and refreshing on a warm day. The popcorn was a perfect snack. There was live music on the patio, which was great. If I lived locally, I'd probably become a regular here.“

“Pleasantly surprised with this place. It's a gas station and convenience store located in a fairly rural area. They make very decent sandwiches using Boars Head cold cuts and plenty of other breakfast and lunch time options. The staff is very friendly and courteous. When I visited they had a bunch of tables and benches outside allowing you to sit and enjoy your meal. If you find yourself in upstate New York and in the area, this is a pretty good place to stop for some gas and food.“

“It was great since there is a new chef who is the best on the whole mountain top, and the new menu, that all made a lot of difference compared to our previous experiences at Mulligans. We went there for Mother’s Day lunch, I ordered the special - Ahi Tuna with soba noodles and avocado, it was out of this world delicious! Hope they keep it as a special for the summer! My kids had chicken cesar wrap and tomato soup and they both said they want to go there for lunch every Sunday, and they are picky eaters.“

“Dont let the name mislead you. They do serve diner food but it is, imo, the best diner food I have ever had. I prepare my own meals. I dont like to go to restaurants because most dont prepare food I am satisfied with, taste or freshnessof ingredients. This place sets the bar higher for the other local restaurants. The food is very good, and Ive tried almost everything. The prices are reasonable. This is my favorite place to eat beside my own cooking. The owners, the staff all very nice people. Makes me feel like Im visiting family not a diner“

“In early May, my sister and I were passing through Windham and stopped for lunch at Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House. We visited this place for the first time. Everything what we ordered was very tasty. I ordered sausages with a side dish, my sister ordered half a chicken with side dish. The sausages were amazing, the spices did not overwhelm the taste of the meat. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The French potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Coleslaw is very tasty and light. For dessert, my sister ordered apple pie, and I ordered strawberry milkshake. Everything was delicious.The inside of the establishment is very clean and cozy. The service staff is very good. Restroom is clean.I want to say thank you to the owners and employees of Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House for your respect for people. I will recommend Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House to all my friends and acquaintances.“

“We were greeted by Frances, who brought us to a nice quiet table with a view of the sparkly lights on the trees outside. She was also our server, and I believe was the only hostess and server working the entire restaurant. There were about five tables and we never felt rushed or forgotten. We ordered the special of the night, a citrus flank steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and the chili bread bowl. The chili was lukewarm warm but the right combo of spice and meat. Very yummy! While we waited for our food we enjoyed the paintings depicting the story of Rip Van Winkle. The food was good, the price was right (roughly $20 entrees) and Frances really was the icing on the cake for us!“

“First time! Ordered the steak and ribs to go because I was on my way home from work and didn't feel like cooking. They were very accommodating due to it was not yet 4. Because I had to reheat when I got home I asked for the steak to be rare and the ribs to not be hot. The mashed were delicious and the fries were seasoned perfectly. Asparagus was crisp and all reheated perfectly without losing any quality. It was a great experience and the bartender was more than accommodating. Will definitely go there for a sit down!“
