Reviews for Patés Jeanty

My family's been going to this place since I was a kid - so at least 20 years - and it remains my (and my mom's) favorite place to get patties, even after trying a bunch of places in Flatbush and even around Boston. Queens Village is a bit out of the way for me, so I usually get a dozen each of chicken and cod and freeze them so I have my fix for a while. They also make a fun introduction to Haitian food for other people.

It takes a lot of work to get the flakiness needed for a real Haitian Pate. Unless you've made them before, you don't realize that. A Haitian pate is supposed to be like a pastry with meat or fish inside, not a meat pie. There should be a slight crunch as you bite into it. The protein inside should have a little bit of a kick to it. This has all of that. My mother and aunts would make pate on special occasions when I was younger. Haitian pates are amazing! I am not Haitian but I have a lot of Haitian friends. They always recommend these patties and man are they amazing. They are so crispy and affordable. The staff was nice and attentive. They have no seating inside so its just a take out bakery. However, it is a cute little bakery. I recommend this bakery for anyone who wants to try some Haitian food.
