“Came to L'incontro for a casual lunch on a Saturday around 2p. Did not have a reservation and was immediately seated. I gotta say, the service was excellent! Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“

I had the jerk chicken bowl, tuna wrap and to top it off, a green leaf juice. Each item was very well portioned and made with fresh ingredients. “Slightly hard to write this review as I arrived a bit late to the meal. I went here months upon months ago. Not knowing that this was part of Dun Huang, I thought I went to the wrong restaurant but it turned out it was one and the same which was surprising. I was here with a group of nine others. As I arrived a bit late, the soup dumplings had already been there a while but they were still of very good quality. My favorite of the night was the Salted Egg Yolk & Shrimp Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. The texture of the rice cakes were perfect and the egg yolk complimented it well. I also liked the Dry Fried Shredded Eel & Chives. I also would have preferred them less shredded as I couldn't taste much of the eel texture but the sauce was nice and the blend with the chives added some good depth. The Fried Dough Twist Spicy Chicken or Laziji with Mahua was also surprisingly spicy for a restaurant which is primarily Shanghainese now so I guess they still have some influence from the old Dun Huang. I've had it before with these dough twists from the excellent Peppercorn Station and these rivaled that place even though the chicken there was a bit pricier but then again there was larger pieces of chicken in the latter. The Fish Fillets in Sour Cabbage Soup was also pretty solid as well as the Grilled Lamb Kebabs. You can essentially see Andie's review for the rest of my thoughts as they essentially reiterate hers. Yes it was too hot inside and as I was rushing to get there, I got warmer than most but oh well. Would go back but maybe go during the fall or winter if the AC isn't fixed yet. Mid 4“
“Every single thing we ordered was amazing. The baba ghannouj was my favorite dip. The Safina is a must try. The falafel was by far one of the best I have ever had and the mixed grill platter was the best way to try all the proteins and they were all outstanding. I will definitely be back! “Always satisfied at this diner. Irish breakfast is a large serving, good for 2 people really- has black and white pudding, beans, ham with cooked tomatoes. Breakfast specials come with a small glass of juice, good prices. Mykonos omelette had chunks of feta with tomatoes. 2 eggs with meat is perfect serving size. The place is clean, clean restrooms. Food came out quickly. Service, during our most recent visit, is friendler than the last one. Meter parking in the area charges $0.25 for 1/2 hr.“

I've never had chicken wings with this particular flavor or seasoning before so this was new territory for me. No need to worry though as you're in good hands like All State with this chef she is no joke and has clearly put in her 10,000 hours and then some respectfully. It was a dry rub fried chicken wing with spicy chili flakes or chili powder rubbed underneath and/or on top of the wing itself which was fried and coated to perfection I was impressed thoroughly to say the least. This was the sleeper and highlight our orders. We also ordered last but not least the chicken pad Thai which was flavorful and the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place can't say it enough five stars is a minimum! By the way and oh yes please try the Thai Iced Tea and Coconut Water for good measure to wash down your meal. “The restaurant is in a low traffic area and seems to do decent with takeout. I haven't seen anyone sit down yet each time I went. Restaurant looks pretty clean and full of space. The folk working here are pretty nice. Portion sizes are either lunch or dinner size for your platters. Even the lunch size is a good size portion enough for one person. The dinner size is enough for two people. When we ordered the lunch size for gyro, we had a choice of either a salad or a soup for the first side which is separate from the gyro and there is a second side that goes along with the gyro, so you can pick one of the following fries, rice, lemon potatoes or grilled vegetables. The container is filled about 80% full with grilled pita.When we ordered the dinner size for gyro, its the same as lunch but you can pick two of the sides that go along the gyro. This is effectively filling your container all the way to the top at 100% filled with grilled pita. Recently it appears they increased this to up to three sides, but I imagine they will just reduce the portion size of each side if you pick three but would still fill the container full.The Greek salad is good and the soups we tried were also good. The gyros and chicken souvlaki were on point.“

We felt a little rushed when ordering since it was our first time here and we were staring at the menu for awhile. However, they are generous with the toppings and the food tasted fresh. “This store is amazingly clean & well preserved. It looks like you walked into a deli from 1969. Its spotless. Its deli case is filled with all types of delicious food. I got a pastrami on rye w/ fries. Its pretty good pastrami. In my opinion its not made on site. Its a pastrami brisket ordered from a provisions company & maybe steamed in the back. It just does not have that fall apart real kosher deli pastrami texture. That being said its very flavorful sandwitch. I definetly enjoyed it. I give the pastrami a 7/10“
