“When you walk in, you are greeted immediately and the atmosphere is inviting and warm. The food was absolutely stellar. I had a grilled octopus special for an app that was cooked to perfection followed by the half rack of lamb that was so juicy and delicious. The sauce was incredible..not only is the food 5 star, watching the staff work together was quite lovely. They seem to be a true family and it is a welcome sight to see. Highly recommend this establishment and kudos to the staff and kitchen.“
“The squash was one of the best tasting dishes I had during a weekend upstate. Don’t miss the mayana chocolate bars—sometimes in the display case and sometimes out in the grocery store aisle. “Went here last night for drinks and small bites. The vibe is perfect and decor is gorgeous. Our mixologist was perfect and fun to watch , he made us a “don’t go until you get some” and “never fully dressed” which were perfection. Steaks are accompanied by a sauce of your choice, all very good (the habanero is my favorite). The burgers are flavorful, with the merguez spiced lamb-burger a particular treat. Service is friendly, the food arrives in a timely manner, and the bar has a good variety of cocktails and beers. The whole experience is fairly priced. All told, Flatiron remains a reliable fixture in the region if you're looking for a good steak or a just a few apps and a beer.“
“We had the family here for the first time last night. We started with the Calamari and the Housemade Ricotta. Both were wonderful. Then our party ordered The NY strip, the steak frites, a pecan encrusted rack of lamb (a special that night), the pappardelle bolognese, and the Burger. Everything was tasty and perfectly prepared EXACTLY as we ordered. The strip was between medium and medium rare and a high quality steak. The frites were perfect. The pappardelle was fresh made and the sauce outstanding. The lamb was served with a chimmichurri and had 6 chops that were excellent. The Burger was a sight to see. It was large and pink and great. Then we had practically one of everything for dessert which was the end to a perfect night. The service COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. We had one main server, Lily, who was professional and got everything right (Definitely ask for her) and a handful of other servers during the night that were attentive and professional. The kitchen is in full view of every table and was great to watch. The room was comfortable and the ambiance helped make the night special. Highly recommend this for a dinner you can count on as being one of the best.“

My son had a burger, which he said was delicious and I had the smoked brisket tacos, which were also delicious! They had some drink specials so I decided to try their Mint Margarita and it was yummy! The place is small with a large bar and several booths to sit in. The waitress was very nice, but since she was servicing the entire place by herself, the service was a little slow.“

“We have had an early (4:30pm) dinner this past weekend. We have been there several times before but over 15 years ago. No specific reason for the lapse. just never got back. Our past experience was: Food and service 5 stars, Atmosphere: upscale (dressy), Prices: reasonable for the quality and portions. The steak Au Poivre was the best I have ever had. New experience: The atmosphere, is more casual -(almost "rustic"), The host wearing a flannel shirt, and the waitress wearing a down vest. After other guests arrived, I thought it was a bit noisy but then realized there wasn't a person dining under 80 (guessing hearing problems, LOL), I'm 65 and felt like a kid, LOL. No worries, it didn't affect my food! LOL!. Food and service: The calamari was skimpy but cooked perfectly. The French onion soup was VERY VERY good!! The Steak Au Poivre... is STILL the best I have ever had! The fries, well I like the crisp-crisp-crisp, but did not specify.. They came out perfect to my liking. The bourbon list, only Knob Creek and Bullitt, drinkable but it would have been nice to see some eagle rare, Blantins, etc. The "house" wine was yummy too. No dessert, we were very full. SummaryL We would absolutely go back again and not wait 15 years! 5 stars from us. Note; we liked the casual dress... I dont mind wearing a shirt and tie but we did feel more relaxed in casual attire.“

“This place has a classic American tavern feel. There is bar seating and table seating. There are a couple of sections (a big back section which is where our group of 11 was seated). Food was delicious and they had a couple of options - bar snacks, appetizers, salads/soup, mains. The price of main entrees run from $20-$30. Service was also great.“
