The Arnold House American • $$
839 Shandelee Rd, Livingston Manor

“We stayed in the farmhouse at the Arnold House for a family get away. We enjoyed the tavern and the breakfast buffet. I think that guests should be aware that the bathrooms are unfinished. The toilet paper is one ply because the toilets need to be handled with care. Also there was standing water in the basement and the mousetraps in the house gave an uneasy feeling. It's an old house which could be charming with a few changes.Nearby activities: YesFood & drinks: Yes“

“A friend of a friend of a friend mentioned the place in passing. When I wanted to go to dinner last night that vague memory rolled to the front of my brain. I am so glad it did. The food was over the top amazing. Everything was made to order. Nothing was reheated in a microwave. The empanadas were to die for. They alone were worth the drive. It is obvious the chef takes great pride in his creations. Our bartender/server was cheerful and attentive without being over bearing. She made perfect, generous cocktails. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 40 years. I can usually find something to nit pick about. Not this place. I can't wait to go back.“

“My wife and I took a quick ride to Liberty to visit my Dad and do some grocery shopping. When we finished our errands, we were hungry so we looked online to see what was near us and we came across Chick-E-Ribs. The reviews were great so we decided to give them a try. We're so happy we did, because we absolutely LOVED it. We had the Pulled Pork Dinner and the Brisket Dinner along with sides of Mac & Cheese and Cole Slaw. We also got a half rack of ribs which were exquisite. So moist and tender and they literally fell off the bone. In both our dinner dishes, the meat was incredibly tender and juicy and full of flavor. The mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy and equally delicious and the cole slaw... which I myself don't normally eat... was amazing. It was fresh and loaded with flavor. We've had BBQ up and down the east coast and this is truly the best we've ever had. We highly recommend giving this place a try because not only is the food great, the owners are local folks who are friendly and put their heart and soul into making fantastic food.“
