“I enjoyed my visit today. I ordered the lunch special (meat, side, cornbread) and chose brisket and sweet potato. The brisket had great flavor, though next time I'll ask for leaner pieces as mine was fatty. Sweet potatoes were just right, not too sweet. Cornbread just ok. Things to know: 1. This place is tiny. There are just 4 bar seats and that's it. 2. Beverage options limited. Coke, sprite, water. 3. The service is amazingly friendly and personable. I didn't get the woman's name behind the counter but I'd go back there just to hang out with her. And it wasn't just me, she was that way with every customer including a 4 year old. You don't need to travel to come here but it's a good stop if you are nearby. Just 2 blocks off the Locust Valley train station.“

“Beautiful restaurant with a variety of options, including those for the calorie conscious. My family tried the trout and salmon - both were cooked well and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the spinach and strawberry salad. There was an issue with our order so it was delayed, but when we spoke to the manager, he took care of things quickly. We appreciated that he took responsibility and his courteous manner and hospitality. The decor is very nice as well. A good date spot. Will visit again.“

My favorite was the seared foie gras, which stood out for its flavor. The service was great and made our dining experience pleasant. We visited it on a Friday evening around 5 o’clock and were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty, with only one other table occupied by a birthday celebration. The restaurant’s location at the crossroads of Merrick Avenue and Old Country Road made it easy to access, with plenty of parking available.Despite its small size, FandoQ had a cozy and neat atmosphere, decorated with beautiful ethnic paintings on the walls. The manager was exceptionally pleasant and attentive to our needs throughout the evening.For our appetisers, I ordered the Samosa, a fried pastry filled with vegetables and chickpeas, while my friend enjoyed the lentil soup and spinach pie. “Many tend to flock to the village of Bayville for its restaurants and bars on the water and beautiful sunsets. Let me give you a proper suggestion: eat here, have a drink or two and then enjoy another drink and the sound view elsewhere. The diversity of the menu and the quality of the food with its unique taste cannot be beat by any place in this town by far. The drinks are great as well. Despite its location away from the water, it is typically packed especially on weekends so have patience when visiting. From my own observation it seems to be mostly local regular customers, who probably have a laugh at those visiting the ‘tourist’ spots for dinner expecting a great meal. As someone who has visited this town often and tried much of what there is to offer, this is what I would call Bayville’s best - grandma’s cooking, if you will. Give them a try.“

“Best crispy eggplant sandwich ever! I used to try different things every time we ordered but ever since I had that sandwich for the first time in November last year, it was a wrap. That sandwich ….yum….aioli is off the chart, it’s really filling (usually only eat half at a clip) and I’m pretty sure I dream about it, lol. “Taglio is my go-to pizza place whenever I am catching a train by the Mineola LIRR station. They serve roman-style pizza which are crispy rectangular slices coming in a variety of styles including a white slice, vodka slice, eggplant slice, and much more. Their options are endless and I am sure that if you visit, they will have something of your liking. For a recommendation, I usually get the Bianco Roman slice and the Melenzane Roman Slice.Other than the fact they serve roman-style pizza, this restaurant is like any other NY pizzeria where you can order your slices and choose to sit in their small seating area or take it to go. The restaurant is clean and the staff is generally nice. Crust was a little dry and there was some flop to the slice. I had to throw out the end of the crust because it was hard to finish. Not too greasy and minimal oil drip. Overall, I would rate this slice an 8.2/10.Specialty slice: For my specialty slice, I ordered a Bianco Roman Slice. The slice had a good balance of four different cheeses and I like the fact that the ricotta did not overpower the other cheeses. I also like that they added garlic, which really enhances the flavor of a white slice. I know a lot of places that forget this important step. The crust was very dry though and it felt like I was eating a very crispy piece of ciabatta bread topped with cheese and basil. It was definitely not one cohesive slice. It could be due to the pie possibly sitting out for a while or it was just made like this. I will have to try it fresh next time. The Karaage was very tender and juicy, with a nice crisp and delicious aioli to pair perfectly with it! The Tsukemen Ramen, although flavorful due to its rich dipping broth, was a bit overly simplistic where the ingredients didn't really add much to its overall flavor profile. Adding some corn or seaweed may enhance the dish further by giving it more pleasurable contrast in terms of texture and flavor, but that's just my personal opinion and preference. However, the noodle had a nice bouncy texture and the egg was flavorfully gelatinous, which were both delicious. Kung Pow chicken spicy, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and Vietnamese shrimp were among my favorites. I honestly wouldn’t recommend ordering the salsa here. It’s a little affected.
