“As always The service was as expected very good. The Food was prepared and served in a manner that not only pleased the eyes but the senses. The taste was spot on. I only found that was my stomach was not as large as I had hoped as the bounty of the food.“

“I enjoyed my visit today. I ordered the lunch special (meat, side, cornbread) and chose brisket and sweet potato. The brisket had great flavor, though next time I'll ask for leaner pieces as mine was fatty. Sweet potatoes were just right, not too sweet. Cornbread just ok. Things to know: 1. This place is tiny. There are just 4 bar seats and that's it. 2. Beverage options limited. Coke, sprite, water. 3. The service is amazingly friendly and personable. I didn't get the woman's name behind the counter but I'd go back there just to hang out with her. And it wasn't just me, she was that way with every customer including a 4 year old. You don't need to travel to come here but it's a good stop if you are nearby. Just 2 blocks off the Locust Valley train station.“

“My wife and I went out to lunch today in Locust Valley, NY. Last July, the LVI Bistro changed owners. Marcel has owned the restaurant for over 40 years. They had an excellent reputation and their food and serve was always high quality. This was our first visit since the change and we found it was quite good. We sat down in the bar room and was greeted by the new manager, Andrea. He was very nice and gave us their new menus. Everything looked great from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts. My wife wanted something light, so she ordered a Cesar salad with grilled chicken strips. I ordered a hamburger with fries. Rita, a waitress from the previous owner, chatted with us about the change and was very positive. There is a new chef, who prepares the food and has a quick turnaround. Both our meals were delicious and were served hot. We talked with the manager and he told us they were going to decorate and renovate the formal dining, the upstairs dining area and the bar room area. We were excited that this local restaurant was getting some loving care from the new owners.We enjoyed our lunch time and enjoyed our experience at the LVI Bistro. When we asked for the check, Andrea brought a dish of tiramisu with two spoons. He told us the desserts were all homemade. It was excellent and was a great way to end our meal.This is a new LVI Bistro and they made a great first impression on both of us. If you're in the Locust Valley area please make some time and try the new LVI Bistro. The service, the food and the atmosphere is great for a meal with two or ten people. “Trying to pick a place for brunch I saw this place and was like this looks perfect! No wifi which is probably a good thing but not good for a child lol, he got over it. Our food was good. Service was good though she brought waffles out instead of pancakes for our boy, not a big deal except for our picky boy lol who was like yucky! Despite the fact he loves waffles at home, as long as they are ego waffles (lemme roll my eyes) they looked amazing here but our 5 year old did not care lol. All of it. Meatballs, sausage, broccoli, white clam pasta- all were top grade delicious. Chef Joe was at the bar when I came to pick up the food. “This restaurant can lend itself to a very noisy environment. Yet today, with several tables taken, conversation was easy and able to be heard. We have been here several times for brunch and a couple of times for dinner. Delicious salad with greens, grape tomatoes and fresh red onions cut over a chicken milanese. Companions enjoyed their choices of crab cake benedict and a large cubano sandwich served with homemade shoestring fries. Shared their homemade flourless chocolate cakes served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Three happy people after an excellent brunch.“

“Amazing experience on a Saturday night. They put us front and center for the live pianist who was absolutely phenomenal. This is our new favorite spot in CSH without a doubt! The imported burrata was super fresh and tasteful a simple dish down right! The Cacio e Pepe for the main came with delicious Cajun chicken that was blackened perfectly. “I just stopped for lunch. Not from the area and never heard of this place. I work construction all over Connecticut. We were working right down the street. Being pressed for time I decided to stop. I ordered a burger and fries to go. Within 10 minutes I was walking out the door. Food in hand. “I went here for breakfast while on business, and it was so good I stopped in again for breakfast the following day! The staff are friendly and always keep your coffee full to the brim with a smile on their face. Would 100% recommend for anybody visiting this area. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since they’re always packed but it’s worth the wait.“

“Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“

“Owned by the same owner as Wild Goose, the food is equally as good. Wild Goose has a vibe that is all about a cocktail scene, while Heirloom tavern is about being able to enjoy a wonderful meal and hear your friends conversation. A real gem that more people should know about!“

“My best friend lives in Queens so she and I come to the Onion Tree every other Friday night. I wish this place was closer to me. I live in Yonkers. The food is superb, seasoned extraordinarily. The chicken is fresh, soft and cut into small bites. I always order chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, or chicken tikka pizza. I have never had food that I enjoyed this much and I have tried all foods all over the world. I never get tired of this place. And the food is served quickly and piping hot. They’re opening a second place in Manhattan. We’re getting closer to Yonkers!! The drinks are awesome too. Barbra and Louis work behind the bar. They’re friendly and great bartenders.“

“Good brunch with huge portions, nice place, and tons of options, great spot to try!- fried pickles were very good, huge serving.-Mac and cheese burger was HUGE, very filling. Cooked correctly (rare). Mac and cheese part was good, not super flavorful.- Asian chicken salad was very good, my wife really enjoyed.- bacon washed old fashioned was good, not as flavorful of fat washed bourbon as I’ve had elsewhere. But good drink overall.- not pictured, French toast dunkers which made an excellent dessert at home with great dipping options.The size of the portions really make it worth it, definitely worth checking out. There were tons of options on the menu including some really unique items. I plan to return to try more.“

“This restaurant is my husband and I favorite place on Long Island . We go weekly and it’s always consistent. Everything on the menu and the specials is amazing . “I went to Monroe’s for brunch with a group of 11 people to celebrate a birthday. David and Frank were our servers and they took amazing care of us. Our whole group did the bottomless brunch option and our glasses were never empty because they were quick to refill them. They also continuously checked on us to make sure we had everything we wanted. The food was great! I had the sliced steak sandwich, it was delicious. The french fries and home fries were exceptional and perfectly seasoned. Everyone was happy with the food they ordered. I highly recommend visiting Monroe’s. We will definitely be back!“

“Started going here a little while back for the Subculture nights hosted by Dj Cody and from the first visit knew this was a great place. Johnny the bartender is a great guy and a class act and a really attentive bartender. The service is great here and you never wait a long time to get a drink no matter how many people are there. Along with great service the atmosphere is pretty cool and the nights are always fun. Definitely worth the trip whether you live close or have to travel a bit. I will continue to go to The Rabbits Foot on a regular basis as it is always a great time.“

“What a wonderful gem tucked away in Carle Place! My boyfriend and I went for the first time last night and had a wonderful experience. The food is scrumptious and the service and ambiance are top-notch. We can't wait to go back! Kim was our waitress. She was very welcoming and gave us recommendations! The garlic bread for the table was delicious. We started off with the grilled flatbread with the mission figs - the flat bread is made in house and was delicious and the toppings were fresh! I got the Romano Crusted Chicken and my boyfriend got the The Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb - both meals were perfectly portioned and fresh. For dessert, we got an apple crisp - very good! Can't wait to go back and try other options on the menu!“

“Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from Small Batch. Wonderful experience. Not only was the food fresh, inventive and meticulously prepared, but the staff was just lovely. Everyone was warm, not snobby, and went above and beyond to make my sister's birthday brunch enjoyable for my family. The food focuses on spotlighting the local ingredients and isn't overly fancy. My favorites were the hot fried chicken sandwich, the deconstructed eggplant parm appetizer, and the spaghetti with tomato sauce off of the kids menu (could have used a touch of salt but I think they underseasoned on purpose because it's for kids). The only dish that was pretty underwhelming was the shrimp and grits, which was kind of bland. The decor is also so tasteful and I felt transported to a fancy farmhouse somewhere on the coast of Rhode Island or something. I'll definitely be back!“

“Stopped in for a quick takeout order on a weeknight, the staff were very attentive and provided great service.Food:- Kai burger: SO good!! Highly recommend. Really good flavor and ratio of meat and cheese and toppings. Best part of the meal.- onion rings: these were okay, but I think it was due to the delay in getting home and eating them. The sauce was good and and breading indicated they’d be good fresh. Could benefit from having more in the order.- soup dumplings: very tasty, still warm when I got home with them. Had a lot of meat packed in.Had a little mishap with the shrimp dumplings, but the staff was proactive and made the situation right. Food was out quick. “Sandbar is reminiscent of so many beautiful seaside venues. The interior design does match the restaurant's namesake and it was pleasant to the eye. Even the bar area looked inviting. I could see myself stopping by to watch a game.As for the food, my friend and I shared the mussels to start. Go ahead and dip some bread into the sauce of the dish. It'll change your life. We had the chickpea fries as well but I wasn't a fan of those. Our main dishes included the Pappardelle Bolognese and the Branzino. Both seemed expertly crafted. I have no complaints there. They seem to have a solid wine collection so don't worry about finding the right libation to add to your dinner.There were some slight service glitches and some of the staff seemed less than warm, but that could've been a fluke or my perception. Don't let that deter you. I would come back for sure!“

“This place has a great vibe as well as a great selection of food hot and cold. I went for a beef empanada and a turkey pepper jack cheese and honey mustard sandwich. The empanada was very flavorful and doesn’t need sauce. The sandwich had a great balance the bread was soft and the meat was savory the cheese was a perfect balance and the honey mustard is one of the best I have had in a long time.I highly recommend this spot.“

“The new ownership is just what this Mineola institution needed to refresh its brand. The staff is friendly/laissez-faire in that typical "Long Island" way (if you live here, you get it). The bar side can be a bit cramped on busy nights but the restaurant side is very spacious. The copious number of TVs make it ideal for Sunday football and they do occasionally rent the space for private events. The menu has been updated and upgraded but still retains that bar food charm. The wings are of the well-done variety, if you like that and are plenty spicy (although, your taste may vary). I enjoyed the addition of hot pepper flakes on their hottest wings. The baked clams, giant pretzel and quesadillas are perfect apps while the full menu is surprisingly extensive with meatloaf, pot and Sheppard's pie, and a triple meat blend burger that knocks it out of the park. Prior to my last visit, it had been years since visiting Cornerstone and I'm glad I found my way back to this solid neighborhood pub.“

“A fun place for lunch and dinner. I was a bit hesitant bring my son who is 3yo, because you just never know if he's having a good day or bad day. But I decided to take the risk and bring him on a mini date because there's only so many visits this mommy can take to Chik-fil-A and it turned out great. He was on his good behavior and tried the mushroom risotto, which I told him was cheesy rice with my short rib and he has a cheese burger and fries. They did forget to put cheese on his burger which he was quick to point out but that was a quick fix, the staff was quick to melt a slice of cheese on his burger and brought it back out quick. My only semi-compliant was a side was small sweet potato smash was $12 which was the same cost of his burger and fries. Otherwise, everything was great, staff was attentive and we had a fun time. “Can't go wrong with crown fried chicken. I love my Popeyes chicken but crown is definitely special. I don't know what the season that chicken with, but it's very good and flavorful. Fried to perfection and seasoned with love. I just buy chicken wings here and if you're looking for large amounts you have to call it in. They don't have large amounts just sitting around since they cook everything together and it's mixed chicken. Whenever I'm in the area, me and my fiancé stop in to grab some chicken to take home. This place will always be a staple for the neighborhood chicken spot you want a grab some chicken that has that home feeling taste like your parents cooking.“

“Recommended by friends so we came here for a special occasion dinner. Very easy to make a reservation online or over the phone. Plenty of seating options for groups or couples. Loved the decor and feel of the restaurant- romantic with dimmed lighting but also good for families and kids. Very cozy feel. The waitstaff is great- very kind and patient, you never feel rushed but always taken care of. Another thing we loved is food really is made to order, came out piping hot. For appetizers we tried the wings and sauteed clams, both delicious and fresh. White sangria was the best we’ve tried. Our table ordered the cowboy steak, lamb chops, grilled baby back ribs and there was a seafood special. The portions paired with the sides are really generous. We were stuffed and had food to take home. We asked when making our reservation if we could bring a small cake for the occasion and the hostess said it was not a problem, our waitress was so kind and offered to refrigerate it for us if needed. Once it was ready to serve brought out plates and utensils for us. Next time we definitely want to try the desserts offered, neighboring tables ordered and it looked amazing. “I have been following this shop on Ig for a while and finally got around to trying it. Incan happily say I was not disappointed. I had the Jackpot with honey money mustard and my fiance had a chicken caesar wrap and we split drunken fries. All of it was delicious. Both of ours had plenty of chicken and taste. The fries were delicious and the vodka sauce was very good. Also tried the mac and cheese and it was good. Overall cant wait to go back and try more of the menu!“
