“Birch Hill Meats recently opened a hidden gem of an experience for foodies... The Counter at Birch Hill Meats. Run by Americo who was the chef at Friarshead for 15 years on North Fork of Long Island, he has brought a secret spot that needs to be told to others. It's a way to try creative foods, buy prepared foods, or simply be inspired and buy high quality meat, seafood and vegetables to cook at home. They have four course meals, tastings, or you can order from what they have or ask for something new. Interesting creative experience. Rainy day my husband and I went in around 11am to buy some meat for dinner later and decided to give it a try. We got two seats at the counter and Americo explained how it works. Basically, we could do anything and at 11am a four course meal seemed too much. We, with his help, had a mushroom and oyster omelet with a side salad. We ordered a spiced apple cider which helped warm us up on this rainy cool Fall day. The feel of the environment is casual, relaxed , but the creativity makes you think you are in a high end restaurant...Could confuse some people, but worth a try because you can make it what you want. Just speak with Americo or his son Jason about what you want. My only recommendation is to use real plates, glasses, utensils and not disposable. The food seems very worthy of non-disposable utensils and ware. Unique experience and worth a try! I wish them great success! I'll go back!“
“Stopped in here with my wife today. It was 3:30 on Friday, we were the only ones in there, as we expected at that time. It was nice to see a family run restaurant. The owner was the chef, his wife and daughter the servers. Food was really good. We started with the guacamole and we ordered the mussels. The chef came out and said the mussels came in a little small today and asked if we would like the clams instead. We said why not. The broth in this clam dish was fantastic. Then he came back out and asked if we want to try his carrot soup. One of the best soups I've literally ever had. Then we finished with steak fajitas and the flautas. Both great dishes. They were really friendly and nice people. We really appreciated their service and kindness. Also don't forget to get the red sangria it's amazing.“

“Saturday evening dinner without a reservation. Walking in, my eyes immediately gravitated to the pictures of the owners and the many celebrities that have eaten and visited there before. The bar area is very nice and large, with TVs playing sports and news. We were greeted, welcomed and seated immediately. The dining area is very large and decorous. The tables large enough to sit us all. My cousin-in-law and his family frequent the restaurant and he practically knows everyone there, so as we sat, we were introduced to the owners and pretty much about a half dozen waiters and other staff members. All were extremely friendly and welcoming. As expected with all family style restaurants, the tables are very close to one another but positioned in a way that still allowed for ample space for you to move and sit comfortably. When we sat, there were hardly any people there, but within an hour it was full of patrons and large families. It was loud, but manageable. The food was unbelievably delicious. I haven't had true traditional family style Italian food in a long time. From the Fried Calamari and cold antipasto appetizers, to our Veal Parmigiana, Penne allá Vodka with Shrimp and prosciutto entrees. Paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon Palermo Napa, I truly enjoyed my meal. I haven't enjoyed food this good in a long time. My girls shared a huge plate of Chicken fingers and fries, and they loved it. “Very good food at Popei's starting with their garlic+ bread. I had the lobster and shrimp stuffed penne in vodka sauce - hearty, tender, perfectly cooked seafood without that rubbery feeling in a fantastically creamy sauce. I sliced my stuffed penne into diagonal strips and every bite was amazing. Others had the crab leg and steak special; crab wasn't as good as my shrimp and lobster being a little over-boiled perhaps but the skirt steak had great flavor and chew. Most entrées hovered around $30. Would absolutely return.Note they have valet parking due to its popularity and limited parking space - so bring some small bills.“
“Hi I don't usually don't do reviews but I had a surprise birthday party for my wife on 3/23 of a party of 20 people and from the beginning dealing with and planning with EVA she went up and above my expectations walking me threw everything from beginning to end I can't say enough of her and Barbara and just wanted to thank Barbara our server handled all of us with no issues at all and all of the staff who helped with everything from Eva, Barbara and would give both of them 10 stars and more and food was absolutely exquisite“
“Amazing experience on a Saturday night. They put us front and center for the live pianist who was absolutely phenomenal. This is our new favorite spot in CSH without a doubt! The imported burrata was super fresh and tasteful a simple dish down right! The Cacio e Pepe for the main came with delicious Cajun chicken that was blackened perfectly. “I have really loved going there. The only complain would be the side salad. The Caesar dressing is awful and they have no ranch dressing. The steaks are good, but we are from Kansas City, so there's that. The meatloaf and other meals have been very good and we go on a fairly regular basis.“

The potions are only comparable to what your loving grandmother would give you, they are so huge. The options of sauces and pasta are amazing. I loved the giant garlic knot and the fried ravioli for appetizers. The chicken Panzanella was to died for, I literally cant wait to go back just for that. My family had chicken Alfredo and chicken parm. All the options were great. The lemon drops are some of the best I ever had. “Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“

“This pan-Latin restaurant is a must if you are in the area. The menu had several interesting Tapas selections, which could serve as appetizers, sides, or even your main course. There were also traditional main course options, as well. We ordered a variety of fish tacos, calamari salad, brussel sprouts, and of course guacamole and chips to whet our appetites. Each were scrumptious. I had the braised beef as my main course which was moist, delicious, and just the right portion. We shared churros for dessert, which were light, crunchy, and simply divine. Service was very attentive with plenty of staff. Valet parking was a nice touch, particularly since parking can be a challenge in the area. Overall, a very fun and enjoyable dining experience.“

Between, the pastas and seafood and desserts and appetizers this restaurants food was spot on. The ambiance was a delightful surprise, one night they had live music in the bar which you can hear through the restaurant. And they had the fire place rocking which was awesome for the cold winter nights. They had a great wine selection for bottles and glasses and even served the glasses in the appropriate glassware, which is a nice treat. Highly recommend to anyone staying at the hotel or passing through. Great upscale restaurant, doing everything right.“

“Sandbar is reminiscent of so many beautiful seaside venues. The interior design does match the restaurant's namesake and it was pleasant to the eye. Even the bar area looked inviting. I could see myself stopping by to watch a game.As for the food, my friend and I shared the mussels to start. Go ahead and dip some bread into the sauce of the dish. It'll change your life. We had the chickpea fries as well but I wasn't a fan of those. Our main dishes included the Pappardelle Bolognese and the Branzino. Both seemed expertly crafted. I have no complaints there. They seem to have a solid wine collection so don't worry about finding the right libation to add to your dinner.There were some slight service glitches and some of the staff seemed less than warm, but that could've been a fluke or my perception. Don't let that deter you. I would come back for sure!“

No where in menu does it tell you that their plate is BONE IN. Made meal unpleasant.I had lamb chops. I must say they were thinnest lamb chops ever anywhere. Usually they’re 3 double chops in every place I’ve had them. Here they’re 4 single chops so thin you can’t get them medium rare as I ordered. I’d say go but ask lots of questions.“

The only thing i wish is that they would supply the utensils needed to crack open the crabs but if you have some industrial scissors and a good hammer and forks you can make it work. I would absolutely recommend this place even for ordering if you live near by it is worth it. next time i want a seafood boil i will go to this location in person to be able to experience the restaurant itself, the staff, and the service.“

“Da Angelo strives to be that neighborhood place which is cozy, staff like family and food which is close to home made . If you love it spicy, ask Sergio to make that special hot sauce ( garlic- olive oil- crushed red peppers) and it will surely fire up your taste buds. Leading up to our event, Andrea was very helpful and responsive, and the rest of the staff was just as incredible day-of. They were attentive to us and our guests (adults and children alike), regularly checking in to make sure everything was going well and everyone had what they needed. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was fantastic. It was the perfect place for our event, and we'll absolutely be back next time we're in the area!“
