“A positive review for Sumaq Grill & Bowl- thank you for a great experience When I entered, the restaurant is more of a casual/takeout style place, but it’s extremely clean and there are comfortable seating options if you choose to enjoy your meal there. I was greeted kindly by an employee who answered my questions I had about some platters. I ordered the chicken platter & gyro platter & I am so happy I did. You are able to see the kitchen from the seating area of restaurant and I watched how fresh everything was cooked and prepared. I did order my meals to go, and everything was packed nicely. I wish I took pictures of my meals because they were so delicious. Chicken was delicious and gyro was extremely fresh and flavorful. The platters were plentiful with a good amount of rice, salad etc. and reasonably priced. I cannot wait to go back. They also have other platters, apps, create your own shawarma bowls, soups and more. I am really pleased with my first time enjoying Sumaq Grill and I recommend you give it a try.”

“I had an AMAZING meal last night at Brasserie by Chef Aless!!! (Massapequa) The ambience was fantastic right from the start. Low lighting and music, a fireplace by the front door, very old school French bistro decor. We were seated in the enclosed patio, which was just as warm and inviting as the rest of the place. We ordered cocktails to start and they were great...nice pours. NOTE: No tap beers, but they have a decent bottle collection. Now, onto the food! We started with the camembert en croute, which was warm, ooey gooey and DECADENT. My husband ordered the roast duck with rice pilaf and haricot vert, and it was perfumey, smoky, and juicy as hell. I went with the lamb shank over mashed potatoes and let me tell you...it was TO. DIE. FOR. The lamb came right off the bone, it was so tender that I barely had to chew. The mashed potatoes were a perfect texture and the sauce was out of this world. Easily one of THE best meals I've had in years. NO room for dessert. The service was very attentive, noise levels were fine, and Chef Aless was out in the dining room checking on how people were enjoying their meals. She was SO warm and friendly, and is clearly passionate about her food. 10/10, highly recommend this establishment!”

It’s accessible, affordable and delicious! She is Uber knowledgeable about every aspect regarding nutrition and she guided me through different “changes” in my body. The staff is very pleasant and easy to work with and the owner is very thoughtful and generous. This is the third time we have had a luncheon there and will definitely return.”

“The overall greatest restaurant for this type of food. My girlfriend and I have been going here since we started dating last year, and without fail has been the most phenomenal food we’ve ever eaten. Overall, it’s been truly a wonderful experience and I recommend to everybody in the mood for some authentic Chinese food. The people assisting us were so friendly and kind, and the food was made in 5 minutes or less. So amazing!”

“It was a quiet Sunday evening at the restaurant. So our server gave our table a lot of attention. He came by to refill our waters and checked in on us a few times.

We ordered the rock shrimp tempura, dim sum sampler and soup dumpling sampler for appetizers. Also had That's a Punch cocktail which was sweet and delish.

We came with family who ordered the most American Chinese dish you could order which were just ok. But my husband and I ordered the panko-fried Sea Bass Filets with sweet Thai chili sauce and Cumin Lamb ribs. These dishes were very tender and flavorful!!

I would come back to try it the other dishes!”

“We worked the same event yesterday and I knew right away I would be visiting them for my lunch! So amazing and the ladies were super friendly! I tried the Taco, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Philly Cheesesteak, and Banana Nutella. I Hope to see them at another event soon so I can try the other flavors (I heard the spinach artichoke is a must have!)”

“What a spectacular restaurant, excellent service, but the best thing was the seasoning and quality of the food.
I haven't had a horse steak in a thousand years and this one brought back many happy memories, the chicken broth full of flavor.
And to finish, a delicious freshly brewed coffee.

“I love this bakery but recently they decided to change the shape of their crumb bun. They used to bake them in a large tray and cut them ino rectangular pieces and they were up by the register. Now they are made round and in the glass case. The new crumb bun/cake does not taste as good, even though they say its the same recipe as the crumb bun itself.The rectangular shape. This round, one falls apart as you either cut into it or bite into it, and it doesn't have the same taste. Very disappointed that they change such a good thing.”

“This place is soooo good! I am pretty sure they are under new ownership and the food is definitely an upgrade. They have a HUGE menu selection and so many different specialty pies. I got a pepperoni and a grandpa slice and they were 10/10 delicious.
The staff is also super friendly and attentive. For sure coming back here and telling my friends.

Plus, it’s located right next to the DMV, so it was a lifesaver after spending hours waiting on line lol.”

We have dined at the diner for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we truly appreciate the benefits of supporting a local business. Although we should have written this review earlier, it took the loss of my wallet to make us realize how grateful we are for the diner's honesty and integrity. Yesterday, my husband and I had lunch at the diner, but later that night, I discovered that I had misplaced my wallet. Today, I received a phone call from Mike, the owner, informing me that someone on his staff had found my wallet. Nick held my wallet in his office to ensure its safety until I arrived. I was relieved to find that everything was untouched and still inside. We cannot thank the staff and owners of the Massapequa Diner enough for their honesty and kindness. “I have been going there for take out for a number of years now. We have never had any item we did not truly enjoy. My daughter has a " very selective palate" , very picky eater. She really likes their recipes, especially their steamed beef, made with real flank steak, not the lesser cuts used in many other places. The owner does a great job of catering to specific requests. I have found the family that own and run it to just be such nice caring folks. I have gone there after medical care, home from the hospital, and oral surgery and she has always made great suggestions that were comfortable to eat. For Chinese food, we will not go anywhere else.”

“I recently discovered this little gem , only 2 1/2 miles from home , and had a big , delicious meal there yesterday , 4/25/24 . I had two servings of both Pineapple Chicken and Mango Shrimp , freshly prepared and absolutely delicious : each generous serving would have a sufficient light lunch in and of itself . The Avocado , Asparagus and Boston rolls were likewise delicious ; I will return for more of everything I ordered in coming weeks ...... Service is exceptionally friendly and welcoming , with seating comfortable and well spaced ; the entire place , including the lavatory , was immaculate . Sake is family owned , and as with so many small Asian restaurants whose proprietors hail from China's Fujian Province , the pride taken in service is ever p;resent here ...... With the unfortunate closing of Ruby Buffet after the Sunrise Mall fire of January , 2021 , Sake by itself fills a much needed South Shore niche . As with my favorite little Italian haven , Seaford's Il Baceto on Jerusalem Avenue , don't let the unprepossessing location fool you : Garden City holds nothing better !”
