The hash browns with onions, raisin bread AND raisin bread French toast were particularly excellent. The bread is all homemade and so rare to find now at a restaurant - it is so amazing. “We visited the restaurant with our daughter and 4 friends for Easter Brunch. The location, food and service were terrific. Service was great (always had someone at the table before our water or lattes were done), the food was worth its cost (portions were large and we all had leftovers for later in the day). “If you're looking for Great food and Excellent Service in the Rochester N.Y. Area. Be sure to check out McArtle's, a family owned restaurant in the Fairborn area. They make excellent cocktails and we enjoyed a delicious dinner of Prime Rib and Beef tenderloins with bay scallops. The service is great and John the owner, personally delivered our food and did a follow up to make sure everything was first rate. They have a robot server named "Rosie" that assists the servers by bringing your food to the table for your server to serve you. This works great as it allows the server to spend more time serving the customers and avoids those large trays that clutter up the aisle ways in some restaurants. It's also a great conversation piece and it shows off the food as it passes your table. Everything looks great. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the beef tenderloin was so tender you didn't need a knife. The Chicken French was also very good. The Haddock was perfectly cooked and they went the extra mile to handle our special carrots request. Our party of seven were very pleased. The also have excellent menu items for the Vegan members of the family The tall wooden booths give you the" Irish Tavern "feel while allowing you to be able to carry on a conversation at your table. The portions are generous and fairly priced. We didn't try dessert as we were comfortably full. But the desserts that went by looked yummy. Service was great, they make you feel welcome And want you to come back. (You can join their loyalty program for additional savings.) “I was invited to attend a concert at Fanatics in Lima, NY, to see the Jazz group, The Howard Levy 4. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted very warmly by Norm and a few other regular customers. We arrived early to have a meal. We had chicken wings, two "garbage plates, and the beef and cheddar sandwich. We were all very pleased with our meals, which arrived timely and hot. The bar provides top shelf drinks as well. The live music is played in the back where there is ample seating. To see the bands, you buy tickets and have assigned seating. You can also order food and drinks in here as well. My husband the fried zucchini with ranch, which he enjoyed. I opted for the decadent and very sweet, snicker peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate. Delish! Fanatics reminds me of a "cheers" bar where everyone seems to know your name. Fanatics is a gem in this village of Lima!“

So it's difficult to shop, when you don't know how much your paying for??? I only found out that the English claim chowder soup was $10.49 after purchase and have to ask for the receipts ? ? ?. The current owner and staff are friendly and attentive, professional but not stuffy. There are some booths in the dining area that are somewhat private, and tables with white table cloths that feel elegant but not overly fancy. Or, one can choose to sit at a table in the bar area. Tonight we chose to dine at the cozy bar. There are black board specials but honestly, the regular menu is diverse and with plenty to choose from. Today I had panko breaded chicken Romano with mozzarella and tomato sauce over penne and it was wonderful. Everything is good there. You leave feeling comfortably pampered after having had a unique and special dining experience.“

Beer could be served off the tap if you prefer. Friendly staff. One of the other patrons offered to buy us a drink, whichever was a nice gesture. “The Angry Goat Pub may just be my favorite bar in Rochester. The food and service alone make this one of the best neighborhood bars you can find. As a self-proclaimed garbage plate enthusiast and expert, Angry Goat Pub is in my top 3 favorite plates in Rochester. The main difference between this plate and others you can find in Monroe County is that the homefries are swapped for garlic Parmesan fries, and the meat sauce has goat cheese stacked on top. It's just so good and filling- I had it yesterday and I still haven't felt the feeling of hunger in almost 24 hours. Also importantly, Angry Goat's kitchen is open very late, which is the perfect time to eat one of their plates. The service has also consistently been great. Sometimes at dive bars getting served on a busy night can be a hassle, but here we have been treated very well and served efficiently. There has also been live music here on a pretty consistent basis, but I haven't seen anything like that here. For those looking for a neighborhood bar in the South Wedge, this is definitely the spot to be. Street parking can be a bit of a hassle, so just be careful if driving in.“

“Stopped by Stone’s to meet a friend after work. The bar is located in a small renovated house with outdoor seating on the back deck. Friendly welcoming staff and patrons considering it’s similar to a “Cheers” bar where everyone knows each other. Nice daily food and drink specials, cheerful atmosphere, plenty of off street parking, and good prices. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries for $12! They also have a $10 burger night, and steak night (not sure of the cost). It’s worth a visit go check them out.“

“Nice pub just off Rt 20 and just outside of Canandaigua. This place looks fairly new. It has a large indoor area and hosts bands on certain days. The bar is huge, with about a dozen or so brews and ciders created on premises. Brews are priced fairly, about 6-7 dollars. I had a cherry stout, which was a bit too sweet for me. Pretty large menu at around $16.00 per meal: salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, etc. Did not eat there, so can't comment directly on the food. I would highly recommend checking it out - especially if you have a designated driver so you can sample more beer! Oh, and staff were very pleasant. Lots of outdoor seating in nice weather. Parking lot is a moonscape, however.“
