“A positive review for Sumaq Grill & Bowl- thank you for a great experience When I entered, the restaurant is more of a casual/takeout style place, but it’s extremely clean and there are comfortable seating options if you choose to enjoy your meal there. I was greeted kindly by an employee who answered my questions I had about some platters. I ordered the chicken platter & gyro platter & I am so happy I did. You are able to see the kitchen from the seating area of restaurant and I watched how fresh everything was cooked and prepared. I did order my meals to go, and everything was packed nicely. I wish I took pictures of my meals because they were so delicious. Chicken was delicious and gyro was extremely fresh and flavorful. The platters were plentiful with a good amount of rice, salad etc. and reasonably priced. I cannot wait to go back. They also have other platters, apps, create your own shawarma bowls, soups and more. I am really pleased with my first time enjoying Sumaq Grill and I recommend you give it a try.“

“This should be your first choice for authentic Greek dining on Long Island. Our meals were delicious, service excellent and the owner, Alex took personal interest in our experience. The next time you want to treat yourself...Neraki Huntington.“

“My friend and I had a delightful experience at this Mediterranean restaurant in Westbury, New York. We visited it on a Friday evening around 5 o’clock and were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty, with only one other table occupied by a birthday celebration. The restaurant’s location at the crossroads of Merrick Avenue and Old Country Road made it easy to access, with plenty of parking available.Despite its small size, FandoQ had a cozy and neat atmosphere, decorated with beautiful ethnic paintings on the walls. The manager was exceptionally pleasant and attentive to our needs throughout the evening. For our appetisers, I ordered the Samosa, a fried pastry filled with vegetables and chickpeas, while my friend enjoyed the lentil soup and spinach pie. The portions were generous, so my friend decided to skip the main course, while I savoured the Adana kebab, which was a flavourful and perfectly grilled ground lamb dish served with fluffy white rice.To accompany our meal, my friend opted for Chianti, while I chose a refreshing pomegranate martini. For dessert, we shared a delightful Persian tea and indulged in the baklava and Persian ice cream, which was vanilla-based with pistachios.Throughout our meal, we were serenaded by the soothing music by RilTim, which added to the overall ambiance without being too loud, allowing us to enjoy both the music and our conversation. In conclusion, our experience at FandoQ was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a meal with friends.“

“Friendly customer service. If you have food allergies say it before you order. Food is great, healthy, fresh and a really good portion not too much or too little. I forgot to ask for peta bread to eat with it. I'll definitely go here again I'd choose this over fast food any day. You get the 4 food groups on one plate. A great balance of daily nutrition for me??“

“So delicious. The pita burgers with jalapeño is so good. I crave it until I find the time to go and get one again. It's very reasonably priced at 10.50. We just ordered and I'm craving it all over again. I've also had the chicken and rice dinners and the flavors are quite good. Next time I'll take a picture, I tend to gobble up the order before I think of taking a pic. The food is freshly made and the service is quickl. I'll be back for more.“

“Stopped by midweek to have dinner with my husband. We both enjoyed the super thin crust pizza & shared it. Next we tryed their salads!!!! Super fresh ingredients. And then they had a fish special that was over-the-top delicious. Strong drinks just the way we like them and can't wait to go back.“

“My first time here and it was absolutely delicious! Everything was so fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly. We had the vegetarian meatballs, zucchini chips, grilled chicken sticks, grilled lamb sticks and more. I loved the atmosphere. My sister is gluten free and there were so many options for her (including a separate fryer to insure no allergy). You must try this place!Dietary restrictions: They have a separate fryer for gluten free fries, etc. All their food is labeled as gluten free on the menu with so many options.“

“You will not find better Mediterranean food in the area. We used to go to this place when it was in Westbury and recently starting going again to the location in East Meadow. This location is clean, has a fantastic atmosphere and a beautiful dining area. Every dish we have ordered is bursting with flavors and plated to perfection. Quite honestly, some of the most delicious food is served here. If you are looking to expand your horizons and are tired of the same old Italian and Chinese food on long island then this is the place for you. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.“

“Very good Persian food. Andre the waiter was extraordinarily polite and efficient. The restaurant was very busy and noisy for the first hour or so of dining. We have been here many times and everything is consistent. Will definitely return.“

“Went here for lunch w friends. The place is small but hopping. Lots of people Picking up. We opted to eat in. Wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions. We shared saganiki (a melted cheese and grilled tomato dish) it was warm and flavorful. It had warm feta w tomato on top w melted Greek cheese. Came w pita a good start to share. I had octopus well cooked and lots of flavor it came w onion and green peppers under it. My friends did salads one w gyro meat and they took off what she didn't like and add more of what she liked. My other friend had salad w souvlaki she like the marinade meat but the chunks need to be cut smaller for her. She like the tzatziki sauce. One friend order for her husband to take home and rice pudding. She said he loved his dish and the rice pudding was good tasting. They don't make ice tea but do have refillable soda. So all good. Portion due was enough to take extra home for another day.“

“I was so excited to find a good shawarma place. I had the chicken shawarma salad with brown rice. It with a white sauce and spicy red sauce. Both were tasty. The food was great. The service was very friendly. The ambience is cute. It is small and there are a few tables to sit at. The shawarma is Georgian (country) style shawarma which was a delicious style.“

“My husband and I went on dates here. That was about 1970. I try to spend my birthday at Kabul, even tho my husband died in 2020. Delicious tradition. Have brought many friends here over the years. The quality of the food, and the delightful seasoning have been constants since we first had dinner there.“
“I went to eat here last night. My friends and I ordered Sunday sauce, Sardinian cavatelli and veal saltimbocca. We all agreed the sunday sauce was the best. It was FRESH cut ribbon pasta…was like a thicker, heartier linguini cooked to perfection. The veal meatballs had a perfect classic meatball flavour. The fennel sausages were probably premio sausages but those are great so no complaints. My friend got the Sardinian cavatelli and it had divine hand rolled fresh pasta that was also on the thicker side and perfectly cooked. It was mixed with the same meatball I had and some peas and other fun things. The veal was very good as well and the prosciutto gave it a saltier more cured taste that was fun. Ambiance and wait staff were great !!“

“So i googled gyros by my work just to try something new and found this spot. I drove there and then realized it’s a gas station lol ohhhh but can looks be deceiving i walked in and was already negatively set but i said screw it im here. This was one of the best beef gyro sandwiche and fries I've had in a very long time. Honestly delicious meat was tender fries crispy and the 2 sauces they put on fire… Definitely will recommend it to anyone the gyro wasn’t huge it was on the smaller side but flavor made up for that. Insane how some small hidden gas station shop can great such an amazing gyro definitely check it out i got the gyro was with lettuce tomato cabbage and pickles sound strange for a gyro but it just works… Will 100% be going back……$15 dollars well spent honestly..“

“This location has a special place in my heart. 1988, I just came back from being stationed overseas and my girl friend (now my wife) says lets have Falafel for lunch. What's Falafel? Back then, the restaurant was called The Promised Land and it was the first time I took a bite of Falafel. Now, I was hooked! Strange that I never had nor heard of Falafel growing up in Brooklyn. Working in NYC was when I saw the different Falafel styles and was introduced to Einat Admonys version at Taim. I was a total fan of her Falafel. And to me, she gets points because she served in the IDF as well as being in Season 3 of Guy Fieri's Tournament of Champions? Shabbat Shalom sister with a fist bump. Which takes me to 2024, Taim Mediterranean Kitchen in Plainview. Walking in just floods me with so many memories. The counterperson says if I join the Taim rewards I can save on my first order so download the app. 1988 doesn't have anything on 2024! Once I downloaded the app, I ordered something simple, The O.G. Falafel Pita made with Harissa (for a little kick) I sit down to a nice, clean location. Brightly colored tables and a jug with some delicious looking lemonade. (Too sugary for me in 2024) My meal is ready. I like the fact that there is both Hummus and Tahini sauce inside the pita. It was a nice sandwich, the pita texture to me was a little off. It was too thick compared to what I'm used to at other falafel joints. Just for a moment, I had lunch back in time. Them I checked my app for the meal credit, I jumped in my Electric Car and headed home. Chicken Shawarma is calling me, I'll be back. (80s reference)“
