“I live in Manhattan and I decided to go today, Monday, April 29, 2024, to the Caleta 111 restaurant and it was worth the train trip that lasted an hour. The extraordinary corvina ceviche, the lomo saltado and the good seafood chaufa rice.The decoration of the place is very cool, I am Peruvian and I also work in a restaurant (Hirohisa.) It is Japanese food, we have had a Michelin star there since 2017. I have been in this area of ​​cooking for so long and I recommend them to you.“

“I hated Lima beans, until I ate them at Contento. In fact, everything I ate there was perfection. My husband and I sat at the bar, which is exactly where I’d sit again. It’s cozy, comfortable and you can see some of the kitchen action as well as chat with fellow diners. The chef came out and helped us pick out a great bottle of wine. I use a wheelchair, which is what first attracted me to going to Contento. I appreciate feeling included. But I have recommended the place to friends and the next time I’m in New York I look forward to going back.“

“Te amo Mission Ceviche! My Boyfriend took me here for my birthday. The entire staff treated me like a King! The customer service at this restaurant is absolutely incredible! The food is a gastronomical fantasy. Incredible flavors, fresh ingredients, truly mouth-watering meals. My Boyfriend is from Peru and he says Mission Ceviche is like coming home for him. He is practically obsessed with the two ceviche dishes (Mixto y Classico). For me it is the short ribs. O-M-G I don’t think I have EVER had a meal so memorable and incredibly delicious. To be honest my words do not do the deliciousness of this meal justice. Simply put...it is oh so good. The short rib is cooked to perfection and is so tender you can eat it with a spoon. The accompanying sides are the perfect compliment. The sauce that’s used...I hope they bottle it because I would buy vats of it! The rice with choclo is sublime. The tres leches rich, creamy and absolutely decadent. The food is amazing. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. The music is fiyah. The location is super convenient—a half a block to the subway and Crosstown bus. What really sets Mission Ceviche apart is the incredible Maitre’d Carlos. He treats all patrons the same...from babies in strollers to celebrities. He is so incredibly kind, humble, gracious, charming, intelligent, professional and inspiring. He is passionate and proud. It is awesome to see him keep the atmosphere ebullient and festive and the food flowing. He manages it all so effortlessly. I think it is because he honestly loves his chosen career and when you’re happy and you know it “work” is pure joy. That joy Carlos gives it to all of the Mission Ceviche patrons. This was not me and my Boyfriend’s first time dining at Mission Ceviche. We are now greeted by our first names when we arrive. Carlos is there and he has the biggest smile and we know that we are in great hands and know we will eat well. Every dining experience at Mission Ceviche is amazing! Go to this restaurant...make the reservation...you will not be disappointed...trust me! Bravo Carlos and the entire Mission Ceviche staff.“

“Yea, this place is amazing. We were looking for a quick bite in LIC on a hot day. We were able to sit down before the kitchen break at 3:30pm to order entrees. We sat in the outdoor seating area, which had great jungle ambiance. Servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great cocktail menu. Started off with a few drinks, the pisco sours were amazing. We tried the ceviche mixto and arroz con mariscos, fresh and delicious seafood. There is limited but parking available! Overall, great food, beautiful interior decor, great service, and decent pricing for the area.“

“Frida has become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. They take pride in their presentation and it is evident in every area (outdoor seating, service, wall decor, food, and even the restrooms). My Coconut Margarita was incredible. The perfect blend of sweetness and tequila made every drop amazing and enjoyable. We started with the Pulpo Asado (Octopus). It came on a bed of mash potatoes, was nice and firm, and the dipping sauces complemented every bite. The Watermelon Salad was a work of art. The rocoto orange dressing placed this dish into the stratosphere. So glad that I ordered it and highly recommended. Our entrees were all exquisite. The Birria Tacos were flavorful, had a spicy dipping sauce, and a savory birria broth that made this selection incredible. The Birria Ramen was just as good as the photo that I've presented. Each ingredient came together to create unique explosions of flavor and makes this another recommended item. The sides were just as impressive as the entrees. We ordered the Queso Fresco (Fresh Cheese) Sweet Plantains and Yuca (Casava) Fries. Both... amazing. Don't hesitate to come to Frida and enjoy modern cuisine at its finest.“

“The food was very excellent, we had fish ceviche, lomo saltado and it reminded me of my Peru. The only thing they should improve is the service, but apparently they don't have enough employees, but I would give it another chance because if you would come back just for the food.“

“Tasty Peruvian food in the neighborhood! Everything was seasoned well and balanced by the mild sweetness of chiacha morada we had as well. Really enjoyed the pasta, it was creamy but not heavy. And always a fan of Peruvian style chicken. Portions were also generous. Loved trying the lucuma ice cream and picarones for the first time too, ended up eating them together and the fresh warm picarones paired well with the cold ice cream. Flavors were great. Need to swing by for a weekday lunch at some point! Service was also super fast and helpful.“

“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! “Came by for an early dinner on a Saturday night. This place is a little outside the busy main Astoria area. The outside looks very minimalistic you wouldn't know it's Peruvian just passing by. From the drinks to the entree, everything was tasty and portioned well although slightly on the pricier side. “We went here to celebrate my grandmother’s life. While it was an emotional day for my family- Carlos turned it around and gave us the best service. He made excellent recommendations and our orders were on point. He was kind and patient. I am so thankful we had him to make our evening a wonderful night despite missing our grandmother. “Came to this place today, Sunday, for early lunch with the family. Since we were the only customers at that moment, we knew that we would get our orders pretty fast and we were all hungry. The place looked great and food even better! Anticuchos and Jalea is what we ordered appetizers and the specials of the day, Baked Fish and Arroz de Mariscos were really delicious. “Cute spot. I went for happy hour on a Monday. Everything my friends and I had was delicious! We had the Guac and chips, Arepita Sliders, Chicken Taquitos, the Salmon entree, and the chicken entree. The drinks were great too. I had a strawberry and mango non-alcoholic mojito. My friends the coconut, passion fruit, and blackberry mojitos. They said theirs were nice and strong too. My friend also ordered the tres le he cake and said that it was delicious! I would def go back!“

I like to visit during Happy Hour and cool off with a margarita. We tried the special - a sampling of many of their dishes. This place does fried stuff well. The ceviche and dish similar to paella was okay. “Delicious Peruvian Chinese fusion plus some typical Peruvian dishes. We stopped in on for lunch, and figured we'd try one of each. The fried wontons (wonton frito), were crispy and the spiced meat filling was unique and delicious, as was the sweet dipping sauce. The lomo saltado entree was luscious, tender beef, tomato and red onion flavored with cilantro (which I don't always love) in brown gravy over French fries and with white rice too. My husband soaked up every bit of leftover gravy with his rice. The owners are friendly, but speak mostly Spanish, so be prepared to point if you don't speak any. They were kind enough to gently correct my very rusty Espanol. The place is bright and clean, including the restroom. We'll be back.“

“First time here. No frills, quick and friendly service. Ordered 2 combo platters. Quarter chicken with corn and mashed potatoes, pernil with mashed potatoes and french fries. Paired well with their spicy green sauce. Very filling, I still had a good portion left to take home. Fries were thin and crispy (they fry it in front of you). Mashed potato was yummy, can't go wrong with this. The chicken and pernil were also seasoned well. I'd come back to try other items on their menu.“

I had in mind to order tallarínes verdes however she let me know they had seco de carne ( which not too many Peruvian restaurants have). I decided to try it and I was delighted. The meat was soft and fresh. She also offered hot drinks and to my surprised she offered Emoliente which is also another drink I have not found in Queens and it was delicious!I have always said it , a good restaurant depends on good chefs, the treatment is essential but the cooking crucial. I am a big foodie and I am always trying to find yummy Peruvian spots. The place was cozy and thankfully not overcrowded. It was cut up into 3 pieces.My friend ordered the fried fish entree with a seafood crème sauce and substituted the rice for beans. Along with the montaditos (one beef, one chicken, and one veggie) and the passion fruit fizz for drinks. It was a good portion of food. She had lots to take home. It had oysters and crawfish. The sauce was delicious. The drink was strong and tasty.This spot was good. In the area, I’d def come back. There wasn’t a happy hour for Friday but other days sound good.“

“Absolute best rotisserie chicken I have ever had. I have tried rotisserie chicken in many places, and this one beats them all. Every time I visit NY, I always have to stop by this place for dinner. I always get the Matador Combo, which includes a whole chicken, salchipapas, a salad, rice and beans, and plantains. That combo is good enough to serve 3-4 people; depending on how hungry you are. Furthermore, their sangrias are also great, both the white and red sangria. I recommend trying both of them.“

“Rosa's Cafe is a quaint diner on 38th Ave serving Mexican and American breakfast and lunch favorites. The menu covers familiar ground and the prices are reasonable. I like the breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, cheese, and home fries. Service is good and the food is filling.“
