“This is a really fabulous sushi spot nestled in Village Gate. They have a nice mix of standard fare and really creative rolls. Our favorites are Sunny Day and Sweet Potato Tempura, though everything we've tried on multiple visits is fantastic and fresh. They also have a really interesting and tasty Seaweed Duo Salad. For the non-sushi eater, don't hesitate to order their ramen. It is wonderfully prepared. Service has also always been friendly and fast. Special requests were accommodated with a smile. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good. If the weather is nice, enjoy dinner on their patio. This is one of our favorite spots in the city. It will not disappoint!“

“1st time here. Ordered some apps and miso ramen. Everything was delicious, but the Korean bbq ribs were the star. Great flavor and super tender/ fall off the bone. Highly recommend. Even though there was only one waiter, and the place was busy, we did not wait unusually long. Very friendly. This place is run well, and there is obviously a good connection between the kitchen staff and the servers. Price is what you would expect. Lunch for 2, w/ drinks was $70 including the tip.“
“I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in both Japan and Okinawa. I went with a classic Shoyu today. The noodles were perfect, the broth was awesomely authentic, the aroma was legit. I haven’t found many places that have held onto authenticity instead of being innovative which often translates to the need to be expedient. Roc City Ramen pays tribute to its culture and connection.“
“Food is always super quick to arrive and some of my favorite Japanese food in the Rochester area . Both me and my family frequently visit this location . You really can’t go wrong no matter what you get from the menu , it’s all delicious and can be rather affordable . My favorites though are the takoyaki , the Taisho Style Ramen , the katsudon , and the various yakitori !“
“The pork bone ramen here doesn’t taste like traditional Tonkotsu but it is still flavorful and rich. The spicy one is quite spicy, which is a surprise given that most restaurants I’ve gone to in this area tend to adjust to the local’s tastes, which usually means less spicy. The pork bone component of the ramen though doesn't taste very strong. The non spicy version seems to have a focus in pork rather than pork bone in terms of the flavor. Meat is a bit thin but quite good, egg is great, noodles - i chose wavy, it is good also. Other add ons are also interesting choices but mostly good. The only complaint would be the broth not being the traditional flavor but it is still good.“
