He and some teammates discovered this place and go there for lunch literally every day they have home games. This place is the best-family owned and operated, great food great prices, great service! Tiramisu is my favorite thing in the world and Mamma G’s tiramisu is the best I have ever had. Carlo is the bomb!”

“We decided to check out Shell for our anniversary dinner and it was just amazing. The atmosphere was quiet, dimly lit and classy. Great choice for a date night! We decided to make reservations at the bar due to the availability of seating in the main dining room. We loved sitting at the bar and watching the chef and his staff do their magic. They were friendly and professional yet fun too!

Our server Diana M was wonderful. She was so professional, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. She made us feel special and taken care of from the minute we sat down. She started by serving a complimentary Amuse Bouche to get started which was so unique and delicious. We then enjoyed some delicious oysters and great wine( wine list has some great offerings) We then chose the fish of the day which was seasoned grilled Swordfish with roasted zucchini and house made pickled roasted potatoes all sitting on a light and delicious saffron sauce - omg delicious! We can’t wait to go back to try some of the other delicious looking entrees, as well as the “Chefs 7 Course Tasting Menu” which was a great assortment of their menu options and very reasonably priced. The selections all sounded and looked amazing.

We would highly recommend Shell not only for the delicious food but for the incredible service and beautiful atmosphere. They don’t have a huge menu but they focus on making what they do offer the most delicious food you’ll have ! Go check them out for a special experience.”

“I need to make you aware of a wonderful diamond in the rough on Rochester’s west side. My wife and I visited this quaint Lower Manhattan style eatery with my brother-in-law and his wife. This unassuming place from the outside pleasantly surprises once you enter with its quaint bar area, blacked out ceiling and twin open kitchen stations. First litmus test is the quality of bread with a full complement of spices to prep your own dipping oil. Check! Special of the day, Seared Halibut on a bed of risotto, didn’t disappoint, nor did my samples of homemade Rigatoni à la Bolognese (just like Mom’s Sunday sauce) or the Chicken Milanese! Completed the meal with an ample slice of homemade Ricotta Cheesecake with Berry Compote. The owner checked in with us several times. The table service was perfect. The glass enclosed wine cellar in the middle of the dining area completed an impressive ambience and dining experience. Run don’t walk to this most pleasant gastro treat!”

“Roc City Sammich brought a food truck to the port beach for my rehearsal lunch/welcome party before my wedding. I booked them because the manager Joe was sooo friendly, responsive, and helpful right from the first communication. The food was awesome and we got nothing but compliments the entire time. Their staff was quick and organized and everything ran smoothly. They weren’t expecting tips from any of our guests which was unexpectedly generous but they absolutely deserved them. Highly recommend working with Joe and his team if you want a delicious and easy crowd-pleasing event!”

“First time visiting this warehouse today, and honestly, it went better than I expected — especially after reading some of the mixed reviews online.

I used Hammer to get there, and I highly recommend doing the same — it saved me a ton of time and got me exactly where I needed to be. My appointment was at 12:30 PM, but I showed up around 10:30 AM and they were kind enough to take me in early, which I really appreciated.

Quick tip for other drivers: if you're hauling a catload or empty cans, make sure you go around to the back of the warehouse — that's where you need to be. Look for the red sign back there; the yellow sign is for the main entrance. Also, keep an eye out for the low bridge — it's there, so just be aware and you'll be fine.

Overall, it was a smooth visit. The staff was accommodating, and with a little preparation (and the right GPS), you'll have a good experience too. I'd come back again.”

I feel like I am eating in a barn… I'm sitting at the furthest table from the kitchen as possible… There looks to be about 12 people working and I think they are ALL talking at the same time… They are definitely using their outdoor voices & it's very distracting… They are yelling to announce that guests are coming in the door, they are yelling, "Welcome to Wendy's!" to greet customers that are walking in, they are yelling names out customers whose orders are ready, they are yelling about taking the trash out because it shouldn't be sitting on the floor, they are yelling out things they need for drive-thru orders, they are yelling about someone needing to check the dining area... I just can't listen to any of this yelling anymore... I'm taking my sandwich to the car where it's quiet & relaxing ! 😳😡”

“When we first moved to the area in January, we arrived to an apartment with a heater that wasn't working. It was the middle of a blizzard and we needed somewhere to weather out the storm a bit before heading to a hotel for a night. Shiki was there for us.

When the woman serving us heard that we were without heat or power in the middle of the blizzard, she offered to let us stay in the restaurant as long as we needed -- even long after close until they were ready to head home.

When we had our food, the ramen was the perfect way to thaw us out and make us feel right at home and safe in a community which cares about its people. We've since come back for gyoza, katsu, and sushi and all of them have been incredible.

The food? Amazing. The service? Incredible. Shiki has earned a lifelong fan and customer. I love them.”

We couldn't stop talking about how nice of an atmosphere it was!! There was road and parking lot construction and since we weren't use to the area , we didn't know there was a ramp to help my mother, but every staff member was so courteous and friendly helping my mom and my 15 year old get them both in (while I went to park the car). The excellent customer service didn't stop there......... throughout our meal, water was filled up and they especially made sure my mother was comfortable! We were all also impressed how wonderful the food was! We stopped there on a whim, but you definitely have some new customers!”

I was an emotional mess when we first met to talk about food and couldn't make any decisions, but Julia assured me that every detail would be covered, and that I could call her personally at any time with questions or requests. And I did. Julia came up with a wide variety of menu items that my husband loved to eat-- as well as what my many grandchildren, and gluten free and vegan friends would eat-- and decorated in colors that reflected him. It was a beautiful spread! While saying "thank you, I love you and goodbye" to one's lifelong partner is the ultimate in challenging life events, Julia and her catering family (biological and work fam) made the evening infinitely easier on me... Julia even tracked how I was doing and brought me food and drink when she knew I hadn't had any. She's a jewel!”

“Great food and nice atmosphere. There is a room in the back for larger parties. The service was really attentive and they were very accommodating to vegans. Some of us got the dinner buffet and some ordered off the menu. All the food was delicious. We will definitely be back.”

It is ridiculously loud for a luxe type restaurant and setting .
We almost fled altogether as it would have been a stressful undertaking-
We were persuaded by the Maitre D to try the bar which was an island of tranquility separated by a glass partition.
The bartender was a delight , knowledgeable and extremely talented , who produced a series of faultless and faultlessly executed cocktails.
Overall an outstanding restaurant but sit at the bar and enjoy the banter and ambiance there, not the maelstrom of the main dining area- a disappointing but avoidable fault in an otherwise stellar dining experience for Rochester.”

“My mom and I had a great experience- food, drinks and staff! My mom had the chicken BST quesadilla, full of flavor! She also enjoyed their Mule Tide drink special! I loved The Phoenix naan bread pizza, perfect size for one person and good balance of sweet from the honey and little kick of the soppressata! Their Livin Lav cocktail was very refreshing and the color is fun! Couldn’t resist dessert and the red velvet in a jar was the perfect ending to our meal! Staff was very attentive and friendly! We will be returning for sure!!”
