“Came to L'incontro for a casual lunch on a Saturday around 2p. Did not have a reservation and was immediately seated. I gotta say, the service was excellent! Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“

“Came here for a birthday dinner and absolutely loved it! Because we had a large group we did the pre-fixe menu and it comes with a tonnnn of food, all amazing! I wish I had taken more pictures but standouts include the cold sesame noodles, popcorn chicken, and lettuce wraps among others. The service was excellent and their drink selection is quite good! I wish I had tried some of the cocktails but I was also perfectly content with my glasses of orange wine. I would love to come back again and try out other items on the menu!“

“We sailed from RYC for an overnight into sheepshead bay and were searching a good Mediterranean or Turkish restaurant. Had a few ideas as we walked down Emmons avenue. Saw Lokum and decided to check it out. Decor was modern and elegant, our waiter Fort, was knowledgeable & helpful and they had a fantastic3 piece jazz trio playing! We ordered the goddess salad to share with lentil falafel and plates to share, grilled octopus, zucchini pancakes, halloumi & avocado ganouj. Everything was so tasty & superb! We had luscious baklava for desert. We would haves lived to longer longer but had to catch the 9:15 launch back to our boat. We will definitely be back for another sublime meal next season!“

“Went here on a Saturday late night. It was crowded but we managed to get a seat in the back for two. Cozy and warm ambiance. Their cocktail was veryshort but very well priced. Helps with any indécision.I ordered the Gin lizzy which came out pretty strong. Like a sweet Manhattan. Something with the mix of ingredients the vanilla & almond syrup, passionfruit, lemon & bitters gave it an aftertaste that I can't quite pinpoint. However, I did enjoy my husband's drink the Watermelon Drugstore made with Ojo de tigre mezcal, watermelon, honey ginger syrup and lemon. Also enjoyed their version of a spicy margarita composed of espolon, lime, agave, contreau.I'm glad to be adding a new bar to my roster. And the prices here make them very appealing. Will return to try out the food menu.“

“Fantastic food and phenomenal service! It felt so cozy in there, like you weren’t in the hustle and bustle of New York City! We had a meat & cheese platter, two salads and a cacio e pepe and everything was incredible! And it was all very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back - and can’t wait to tell friends and family about this gem! 10000/10 recommend“

“I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. One of the best coffee concepts I've come across in a while. The coffee is incredible, and their setup is top-notch. It's now my go-to coffee place. Their Fredo Coffee tastes just like it does back in Greece.“

“My favorite ramen joint in New York! Go here on a jazz night if you can, because the ambience with the artists is even more incredible. This is my 3rd time here, and while everything is great, I’d specifically recommend: spicy ramen, spicy tsukemen, oysters mp, and mango kakigori. Between the freshly made noodles and flavorful broths, all of the noodle dishes are the perfect cozy meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the oysters, which came with a yuzu mint vinaigrette that added a bright vibrancy to each oyster. Don’t shy away from getting dessert the end! The shaved ice is a great way to end on a refreshing note without feeling bogged down by sugar. Note that this place fills up quick, so reserve in advance or come early to beat the wait. “Wow. This restaurant is GOLD. Such fresh flavorful food. Tastes like home cooking. Service is wonderful and everyone here is very kind. We had the Tom Kha soup and it was bursting with flavor. So soothing and comforting. Papaya salad had just the perfect bit of a kick to it. Pork belly with Chinese broccoli OMGGGGG. That was our favorite. Chicken Kra pow we asked for mild and they did it perfectly. Also the RICE here is stellar. I’ve grown up eating rice in many different countries and their simple jasmine rice is absolutely on point. They deliver too. This place is a gem. Also love the plants and murals inside and outside. My favorite Thai food in nyc. Manhattan and BK combined!“

Me and my partner did the pasta and wine deal for $19 which was amazing. We got there just as it opened and we got a seat but it does fill up fast so try and get there early. We have already planned to go back for one of their daily specials!“

“First off, this is probably the best Italian restaurant in NYC. For me, the mark of a good Italian restaurant is their cheese and tomatoes. So when the complimentary, and perfectly cooked, bread came to the table I asked for a side of cheese. I tasted it plain and could tell immediately that it was DOP. (Those who know what that means, understand my meaning.)I then proceeded to have the carbonara. Many restaurants (even those who claim they are Italian) in the US make this dish with cream…and that’s totally wrong. The magic of this dish is the perfect amount of pasta water and cheese that is added to the pasta and then vigorously mixed until it becomes creamy. And the egg must be tempered, or else you end up with scrambled eggs. And guess what…this restaurant knows how to do it perfectly. For dessert I had their bread pudding…another classic Italian dessert that if done correctly, is delicious and if done incorrectly is just a pile of blah. The chef here, once again, outdid himself. It was so buttery and the ratio of raisins to bread was perfect. Plus the hint of Sambuca just put this over the top.I can confidently say that I will be back, and can’t wait to order one of everything over the course of my upcoming many visits. Thank you, Sal and Enzo for a fantastic meal; see you both again soon.“

“Persepolis has been in our neighborhood for years but we never got there. It's a spacious but intimate-feeling restaurant with very attentive, friendly service and excellent (and abundant!) food. Also a range of very good variations on the mojito! The eggplant appetizers and, of course, kebabs are excellent. Very nice decor.“

“Somtum was so delicious. Somtum usually has a strong fish sauce flavor but this one was most lemony and light. The chili powder is a perfect addition to spice it up.The pad kee mao was amazing. The chicken was soft and flavorful and there was the perfect mix of vegetables. We also got the ribs and it was pretty decent but it is meat on the bone so a bit more of a hassle to eat.“

“Nocciola is such a great restaurant! We live in the neighborhood and we never thought we would find this gem in the area. The food never disappoints and the servers and manager are always very attentive and accommodating. My bf and I choose a different plate when we go and have worked our way through the entire menu. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go so you can enjoy this family owned restaurant and see exactly why they have been around for a decade. You will not be disappointed. It’s our favorite date night local spot.“

“Slightly hard to write this review as I arrived a bit late to the meal. I went here months upon months ago. Not knowing that this was part of Dun Huang, I thought I went to the wrong restaurant but it turned out it was one and the same which was surprising. I was here with a group of nine others. As I arrived a bit late, the soup dumplings had already been there a while but they were still of very good quality. My favorite of the night was the Salted Egg Yolk & Shrimp Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. The texture of the rice cakes were perfect and the egg yolk complimented it well. I also liked the Dry Fried Shredded Eel & Chives. I also would have preferred them less shredded as I couldn't taste much of the eel texture but the sauce was nice and the blend with the chives added some good depth. The Fried Dough Twist Spicy Chicken or Laziji with Mahua was also surprisingly spicy for a restaurant which is primarily Shanghainese now so I guess they still have some influence from the old Dun Huang. I've had it before with these dough twists from the excellent Peppercorn Station and these rivaled that place even though the chicken there was a bit pricier but then again there was larger pieces of chicken in the latter. The Fish Fillets in Sour Cabbage Soup was also pretty solid as well as the Grilled Lamb Kebabs. You can essentially see Andie's review for the rest of my thoughts as they essentially reiterate hers. Yes it was too hot inside and as I was rushing to get there, I got warmer than most but oh well. Would go back but maybe go during the fall or winter if the AC isn't fixed yet. Mid 4“

“Stopped in for a quick takeout order on a weeknight, the staff were very attentive and provided great service.Food:- Kai burger: SO good!! Highly recommend. Really good flavor and ratio of meat and cheese and toppings. Best part of the meal.- onion rings: these were okay, but I think it was due to the delay in getting home and eating them. The sauce was good and and breading indicated they’d be good fresh. Could benefit from having more in the order.- soup dumplings: very tasty, still warm when I got home with them. Had a lot of meat packed in.Had a little mishap with the shrimp dumplings, but the staff was proactive and made the situation right. Food was out quick. Give this place a try if you’ve got a hankering for some comfort food.“

“Fantastic hidden gem of a thai restaurant!Extremely well-lit, clean, and orderly appearing the moment you walk in. This probably isn't the ideal setting if you're looking for a "restaurant style experience", but there are several small tables you can sit down to eat at. It seems the majority of the business is take-out.I have ordered several times in recent weeks. And the food was delicious! I tend to order the spring rolls, as an appetizer, and my favorite dish, Kee Mao with Chicken (this is often known as "Drunken Noodles") as my main course. I have also tried the Pad Thai, and a few other items on the menu.Absolutely tasty, hits the spot, reasonable pricing, and super-quick.One other thing.. and this is the most important; outstanding, incredibly pleasant customer service. I was greeted warmly upon entering, and was thanked very sincerely as I received my order....with a smile. This means alot to me, and helps me decide where to spend my money. They deserve it here.If you're used to ordering Chinese Take-out all the time, and want a real change of pace, make the switch! Give Thai Tai a try!“

“?????I can't get enough of this poke spot! Seriously, it's become my go-to whenever I'm in need of a satisfying and healthy meal. The bowls are incredibly filling, and I love how they strike that perfect balance between nutritious and delicious. But what really sets this place apart is the vibe and the staff. Sho, who works there, is an absolute gem. Always with a smile, always welcoming, and can we talk about his music taste? It's like he has a direct line to my playlist! Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of fishiness, but here, they nail it. Not too fishy at all, just the perfect amount of flavor and kick. I'm seriously craving it just thinking about it.Count me in for another visit soon! ?“

“We finally made it here after trying for the last couple of years (timing just never worked out). The meals are very good and staff I excellent. It was a nice lunch and a chance to get my Thai food fix. I got the chicken with Massaman curry and the cucumber salad with the sweet potatoes. My husband got the coriander steak and green curry with the mashed potatoes and sweet potato. Both were great. I wish I had done the red curry but I was not in the mood for spicy but the sample was good. The massaman curry was on the sweet side but not bad.Def a different lunch in a city full of good food.“

“It’s Chipotle prices for food that’s flavor and quantity wise- at least $5 more.F- any other bowl place. Why, when this spot exists ? The bespoke options are exceptional. The quality is superior. The quantity is robust. If you need flavor in your life, skip the Karen spots. Life is too short for bland food. Especially when we are all an AC unit away from falling on our heads and sending us to Elysium. Don’t walk here, run.“

“Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got a tale that'll whisk you away to a land far, far from the daily grind. It all began on a day so unremarkable, it could've been any Tuesday from last year. My to-do list was longer than a grocery receipt for a family reunion, and let me tell ya, my spirits were about as high as a snake's belly in a wagon rut. Now, amidst the sea of sameness, something extraordinary happened. I stumbled upon a place called "Omar's," a Mediterranean cuisine oasis that promised an escape to the exotic lands of Egypt, right in the middle of my humdrum day.Stepping into "Omar's" was like finding a hidden door to another world. The place was decked out with such care and detail; it felt like I'd hitched a ride on a magic carpet. The seating, the decor, the ambiance—it all sang the song of the Nile, and let me tell you, I was ready to dance along. But the true magic of "Omar's" wasn't just in its design. Oh no, it was the food that had me spellbound. The chicken shawarma was like a love letter from the heavens, each bite a perfect harmony of spices and tenderness. The hummus? Creamier than a dream, and the falafel was so divine, I half-expected it to sprout wings and ascend right there and then. Now, I gotta be honest, the staff had about as much warmth as a snowman in January, but folks, I was there for the food, and the food did not disappoint. It was like finding water in the desert—precious and life-giving.And then there was Omar, the owner. The man was like a desert prince, charming and easy on the eyes, making rounds like he was welcoming you into his home. He had this way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, a friend he'd known for years. It's not every day you find a place where the owner treats you like a long-lost buddy. So, if you're ever feeling like you need a break from the monotony, a taste of something truly special, head on over to "Omar's." Sure, the staff might not be the friendliest bunch, but when the food's that good, who's to complain? You're there for a culinary adventure, a taste of Egypt, and maybe, just maybe, to catch a glimpse of Omar, the friendliest face in the Mediterranean dining scene. Trust me, "Omar's" is a journey worth taking, no passport required.“

“We had an unexpected delay JFK airport and decided to look for a place for some good vegan eats. This place did not disappoint! They have a hot bar with ready made food (so many options) as well as a sandwich menu. I picked some items from the hot food (kale, Mac, lo mein, and bbq chicken) and my husband got a po boy. Everything was delicious. The po boy was out of this world! We also had fresh made juices and splurged on chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. It was definitely worth the trip from the airport! This is vegan comfort food at its best!“
