“My favorite Indian restaurant in the world at the moment. We ordered chicken saag, chicken tikka masala and malai kofta. Each dish was a flawless expression. The tikka masala was bold and yet approachable. The saag was verdant and yet not bitter. The malai kofta was textured beautifully and the sauce was truly mouthwatering, a sweet and savory experience that I will dream about until I return to NY. The mango lassi was bright and tart and the ideal texture. The naan was substantial yet tender. I cannot say enough good things.
Vegetarian options: Malai kofta
Dietary restrictions: Halal”

“The food here is incredibly authentic and absolutely delicious, it truly tastes like home to me.
The Thali was spectacular. Every dish was perfectly spiced, and the cool, creamy buttermilk was the ideal way to wash it all down.
The Dahi Bhalla was a beautiful balance of tangy, spicy, and sweet, with cold, soothing dahi. It was generously topped with onions and potatoes, adding both texture and heartiness.
The Moong Dal Halwa was a standout, it wasn’t cloyingly sweet, but delicately tender and moist. It tasted divine, like it had been made with mother’s love. In fact, every dish felt like it had been prepared with genuine care and warmth.
I’ve also tried the Chole Bhature and Mooli Paratha on previous visits, both are excellent and highly recommended.”

“Delicious, fresh chicken and lamb, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and served with a smile. Quality of the meats is above the usual cart fare, and it makes a big difference. We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.”

“Food was pretty good and reasonably priced! Would definitely get it again. Only one request would be if they changed the plastic trays they serve the food in, they all broke and cracked and liquid was pouring out in the bags on our drive back to NJ. I wasn't too much of a fan of the pepper shrimp, but really liked the chicken fried rice. All in all would stop by again though.”

“Hands down the BEST chopped cheese in NYC. Smiley never disappoints when he makes your sandwich, always made with love and for only $7, can’t go wrong. Highly recommend!!!”

“Curry goat (chivo), potatoes (papas), & a bit of sardine-like fried fish together? Why not? Some of the best goat I've ever had! Tied together nicely w/ mildly seasoned white rice & sweet fruit punch soda. This place is a little hidden behind a staircase to the elevated tracks near 109th Street, so I thought I'd include an exterior shot. Hey, two meals for fifteen bucks!”

“Finally a place in Chicagoland that does the Halal chicken and rice the right way. I also tried the chop cheese which was authentic out of Brooklyn. This is the only place doing it right in the area. Today was probably my 8th time there since they’ve opened. Great place, keep it up. *The other new place is all show and no taste or class for that matter.”

“Food is alright. Prices are slightly higher than that of other halal carts in the area for the same quality. It's 7.99 a platter (I don't get why they don't just round up to 8, they never give you back the 1 cent in change anyway). Comes with a free soda but obviously the price covers that so not really free. I think they should charge $7 per platter and the extra dollar if someone wants to buy a drink. Lamb didn't really hit my craving for lamb, maybe it's a lower quality lamb. Food is made really fast.”

“Visited S&A roti shop January 3rd, 2020 when we visited New York on our road trip. Met her son at the Nike store in Manhattan and he told us about his mom's place. On our way back to Florida we made a slight detour and I must say we were quite impressed on the taste and quality of the food and friendly service we experienced. We hope you come to Orlando and open a restaurant here as discussed when we visited. Sorry, it took a year to write a review. Roger, Marina and Josh”
“I’m so happy to have this deli just a few blocks away from me! The BEC on a roll always hits. The deli is always super clean and organized. The owner and rest of the staff are very pleasant.”
