“Loved it! Very nice gathering place. Also provides parking. I was there for a benefit/fundraiser and found it to be a great place to hold such an event. There's plenty of space, a kitchen and Bar. It also has multiple rooms for use. Two thumbs up ?“
“*EDIT 3/5/24*Been a few more time since my recent review and the wings have been absolute ? lately. The last 5 times I've been were right on par with some of the best wings around town. Sauces are spot on, big fan of the hot-cajun and bbq-cajun. Service has been exceptional as well. Boosting up to a 5 star now since the last 5+ times I've been have all been perfectBeen to this place twice now since Ive been told best wings in WNY. My first time was a major letdown, I did the Double Dip with Cajun and Honey Mustard, the wings were so overcooked that all I tasted was other leftover food from the char marks. I wanted to give them another try because I always feel like these types of bars have mediocre food during the days and then they step up at night when the rush comes in so I went in again on a wknd night and ordered the Cajun-Medium Double Dipped. Once again, I ran into 3-4 of the wings extremely overcooked but the other ones were 100% spot-on, flavor was killer and the chicken was on point. Only if I could get a full order of decently cooked wings then my review would be higher. Also docking a bit of a point because I was told their top shelf whiskey was Seagrams 7... I mean, I get its a local bar but really?Positives were that the bartenders were all super friendly and were flying around the bar. There was a large wait for bigger groups to get tables but that is expected on a Friday night in a smaller location like this. Parking lot was a zoo with people trying to find spots. Ample televisions on to watch the game and overall seems like a fun local spot. All in all, Id recommend stopping in if you are in the area. Its a good group of people but the Wings just haven't left their mark on me (yet). Im hoping that changes though.Overall 3.5/5“
“Cozy neighborhood eatery and bar. The staff are friendly and make you feel like a regular on your first visit. The wings are great. Good buffalo sauce and crispy, blue cheese is really good, and I'm a buffalo wing snob. Atmosphere sings old buffalo with antiques and vintage photos.“
“We love The Pub! The atmosphere, drinks, and food are wonderful. We enjoy the wood and stone design inside, and high ceilings. The seafood risotto, fish fry, and buffalo chicken salad, get two thumbs up! Excellent! We are excited to try more dishes from their menu!“
“The exact embodiment of an Irish Pub you'd imagine if someone asked you to think of the ideal Irish pub, except without the stereotype redhead with green eyes at the door. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food was decent, drinks served fast, and probably the best spot to take a date on Saint Paddy's (which I failed to do).Edit to add: each time I've been by here, Megan has been hostess/server. She's great! Instantly personable, relatable, a delight. If you can afford to spend a bit, the Banshee is really the best little spot to hang out. The charm of the space, and the staff, makes each visit deeply satisfying.Parking: There are a number of paid parking lots and paid parking garages in the area, but it's smack in the middle of downtown, so expect to pay for your time there. Ride services and cabs are ideal anyway, to prevent bad judgement after a few pints. To be honest, parking right in front of the building on Franklin St is *supposed* to be city street parking with meters, but some ppl have said they park there constantly and never pay anything (at least not in the afternoon/evening). Your call if you want to risk it. You can also pay $30 for the lot next door, if you really need some peace of mind.Wheelchair accessibility: Although the upper floors won't be accessible, the ground floor doors are accessibly wide and swing light on their hinges. The bathrooms can be a little snug to get thru the doors, but there are of course accessible stalls when thru those.“
“I had a pot roast sandwich and a big thing of fries. It was sensational, and the service was great! The friend I was with had traditional beef on whack, which he loved. I really enjoyed this place and the next time I am Buffalo, I will seek it out again.“
“Outstanding experience, best wings, and handcut fries in Buffalo. The wait times might be long but your food is brought as soon as it is ready as well as "ordered". Two spots to order from being the bar and one of the 12 tables located behind the hostess. Expect wait times of an hour at open and some open seats by 7/7:30. Went on a Saturday and had a great time talking to both tourists and locals. Order a drink so that the wait feels less like an hour and a half and more like twenty-five minutes. Cannot wait to come back and try the HOT wings as opposed to MEDIUM. They are known for their hot sauce.“
“The peanut butter bacon burger was fantastic. I requested med rare and it was perfectly cooked. The staff was great, I actually parked in the lot next door and it turns out the mosque there has late night services and double parks so I got blocked in. The bartender was super hospitable and let me chill without feeling bad I wasn't buying more. He offered water and apologized he didn't have more entertainment. If you visit my only recommendation is don't park next-door, I was in a far corner with plenty of open spaces in the Walgreens parking that was attached. There are also no signs prohibiting parking.Parking: Don't park near the mosque next-door they will block you in.“
“it's your typical hometown bar/restaurant. if you haven't had their fish fry, you're missing out. be prepared to wait for a table during Lent, but they move quickly in spite of the volume of patrons; and the staff somehow remain friendly thru it all!“
“Missed out on the kitchen but stayed to enjoy a couple brews. The bartender was attentive and made sure my beer selections were in alignment with my preferences. I like to start with a light blonde, enjoy the taste of a nice red, and end with a thick & sweet stout or lager.“
“We gathered for a party. There were over 50 people, outside at there tiki bar area, and outdoor seating. The bar tender did her best to keep up with orders of food and drink. The roast beef was absolutely delicious. The prices for everything are very reasonable. The only downside is the conditions of the restroom. ~We'd return again, if invited to another gathering there.“
“We ordered catering for our planning event at work and it was not only delicious but Will and Jay at Union Pub went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. We ordered an assortment of wraps and they even catered to our vegetarian needs with a fantastic hummus option. We had one of the best Greek salads and chips per person. They over provided the condiments, dressing, toppings like onions and banana pepper too! There was absolutely no shortage of food and everyone loved it. We are already planning our next event to order!“
“Came here for the dive bar vibe to watch the hockey game last night and it did not disappoint (unlike the Sabres). Always such a fun place to chill, or play a few bar games if you're into that. Ordered the Rhody sandwich which was fantastic. The two bartenders were very attentive and offered great service. Will totally be back for the cheeseburger quesadilla- I need to try it!“
“Dined here for lunch today and the food was delicious! I had a special of grilled capicola and pepper jack cheese with a cup of the day soup which was chicken tortilla, and the soup was delicious. This is a neighborhood tavern and very casual. Great atmosphere. We will be back!“
“First time ordering deliveryWoW ..I need hot food :I'm recovering from chemotherapy.Lost my taste buds .WELL ; food came ?.Beef on wick .They throw in chips and a cold foil rapped pickle.I ordered stuffed peppers .Tasted like Hungarian mild banana peppers with 3 cheeses.Nice hot tang .Excellent charge for delivery: on time and notifications of everything one step ahead .Thank you !Can't wait to try my next delivery.“
“We were in NF to see the Falls. Melissa at Rock Hard Cafe recommended the“ Wilbur’s “ a very small, intimate, lively locals dive bar. Drinks are great and prices are even better. Live entertainment most days…. Fun time.Fun inside and outside venue…“
“Yes . I was greatly impressed on the local little Hot Spot or what may come of the future . I know what it's like to get 8t on track .I managed my own business, I it was more than I expected. Good Luck I'll be back soon .Smoked Wings ?“
“We stopped here on our way home from Canada - so glad we did! Everything was homemade - even the pickles and potato chips. The food was outstanding and service was great. Would absolutely recommend going out of your way to stop here for a bite- you will not be disappointed!“
“Had a late afternoon to kill, went in for a burger. Decor is as others described, but the TVs were a bit noisy with MTV blaring a bunch of 90s to 00s alt rock, pop and lots of hip-hop + r&b. It was incongruous, a little grating, and seemed weirdly at odds with the clientele.Clarissa (IIRC) was delightful, and helped me pick the right beer for my mood (Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale). Was profoundly disappointed to learn they had no kind of fries or hashbrowns available at all, thanks to the postage stamp-sized kitchen having only a grill. The chips would have to do, but at least the Independence burger was excellent. If all you're out for is atmosphere and a beer, this is a quaint, appealing spot, and if you get peckish, the food is quite tasty. (Though a hot plate to make some hash browns or scrambled eggs would add another star here. )“
“Valerie developed her own beer batter, and they have $2 off the fish fry during Friday happy hour this time of year! Also, the dance nights are some of the best I've found. But whatever you're into, Hot Mama's probably has a night for it, karaoke, trivia, pool, sports, etc. Those are just my favorites.“
“One of the best Rueben's I have ever had! My wife got a salad and it was great as well. Both portions were very good and reasonably priced for the size and quality. Our waitress was fantastic, very attentive and fast. The overall feel was very rustic and welcoming.“
“St. Patrick's Day weekend...great band (The Rig), bartenders at outdoor bar were so friendly. 10 of us get a table at the last minute in a packed bar. Food was so good. Everything came out hot and fresh. Irish Onion soup is a must! Loved our whole experience!“
“The place has lots of cool Buffalo sports memorabilia. Lots of pic and jerseys lining the walls. Our server was so friendly and sweet. We split a few things since it was out 1st time here. Everything was served piping hot. The pickle chips were crispy and crunchy, with a nice dipping sauce, a little spicy but all tasty. The fries were cooked the way fries should be. Crispy outside, mashed potato like inside. The gravy served on the side was not very good. It was clumpy and not very tasty. The pulled pork(recommended by our fabulous server) was delicious, but I bit into a bone that damn near knocked my crown off. The server was very apologetic, and they even removed the sandwich from the check. (kind gesture that not a lot of places would do) The roast beef was good, but it was a bit overcooked for my taste. We really liked the atmosphere and the service, so we'll definitely return. You can't be perfect every day.“
