Was starving for some Spanish food on a Friday night. I live in Schenectady but drove to troy to try Sabor Caribeno. I was greeted by a beautiful and friendly woman who made me feel welcomed. She also introduced me to the owner who was just as friendly, now to the food. The food was delicious and plentiful, I got the pepper steak and stewed chicken and I wasn't disappointed! I've been looking for authentic PR food that was good for a long time. To be fair, I haven't tried every place available. My old best friend in high school's mom was Costa Rican and his dad was Puerto Rican. She passed in the 90's and I've missed her and her food ever since. This was really close. My wife and I got the small stew chicken (great portion!). The large looks like it would be almost 2 meals for me (I'm a big guy). I had the stewed chicken w yellow rice and maduros and all of it was so delicious. The chicken just slid off the bone with little effort. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the small portion was a hearty lunch.
