“Our first time going here and it surely won't be our last. Four of us went and were seated quick. Waitress came right over and took our drink order and brought menus. We asked her questions about the dinner items and her suggestions were perfect. Service was great and the food tasted fantastic. Food was plentiful and we brought leftovers home. This restaurant is a must go to if you love great well prepared Mexican food. And for entertainment they have a robot food carrier, a first for me to see. We all really enjoyed our meals, which I also thought was extremely fair priced. We will definitely be back.“

“Ok but not my favorite upscale Mexican in Brooklyn. I really like the tuna tostada (came with tuna, grapefruit, avocado). Got a vegetarian main that was ok, nothing special. Mezcal menu looked good so I’d come back for a drink. Was able to get walk-in seats at the bar by coming right at 5:30 when they open.“

“My wife and as New Mexican natives have searched far and wide on our travels for “real New Mexican food”. Santa Fe BK is unquestionably the best we have had. John and Melissa, the owners did their research and it shows in the food. The place itself is charming, especially the outdoor patio with “Betty” the apple tree anchoring it. Owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their Chimayo red and Hatch green chiles (the heart of New Mexican cooking) were excellent. We’ll definitely be back on our next NY trip.“

“I love love love this place and order burritos frequently from here as a weekend treat. However, my order is frequently wrong. I would definitely check your burrito before taking it away! I am lactose intolerant and get the veggie burrito with vegan cheese and maybe 25% of the time they give me a chorizo burrito with regular cheese. Today is one of those days ???. I should have checked! I would say that this place would be a nightmare if you have life threatening dietary restrictions.“

“Let's just say this place has a 5 star rating for a reason. ALL the tacos are stellar but my favorite is the brisket (sudadero) - it is the most delicious brisket, wow. Tried the quesadilla this past time and it's sooo gooood, pretty large so it will fill you up! And keep in mind it does get to be a bit greasy but if you're in the mood for that, it will 100% satisfy that craving. I also love the workers there, the main woman at the front is always SO nice and attentive :) it's a small place so not great for big groups, but definitely eat inside if you can!! (They bring out chips and salsa for dine-in) ;)“

“This is a 2 visit review. Both times the food was great. I’d recommend the loaded fries and the fish tacos. They were both delicious. The margaritas are pretty good also, slightly on the sweeter side but still worth a try (I like mine more tart). The bartender accidentally gave us chicken nachos & to accommodate, brought us a side of the steak to put on top. The staff was very welcoming & kind even before the mixup. It seemed to just be 2 people working the floor but they did a great job even with a full bar of customersKid-friendliness: There’s a kid menu“

“First of all I gotta mention how brilliant chef Edger is! His passion for cooking & improvising with new food is respectable! His eyes lights up everytime he gets to talk about his creations , loved that! He was kind enough to make mock-tails for me who doesn’t drink alcohol ! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The staff were very kind, respectful & helpful! They worked hard from the start to finish. Chef has a good team ! Thank you guys for everything!I am a good lover, travel real far from my island just to try new food. It’s a commitment & lots of hard work. I am happy I was able to come here after getting off from work. And let me tell you it was all worth it, because every item was delicious. Even tho most of the items I have never had but I enjoyed them. So trying something totally new & enjoying it says a lot about the food!I got to try 3 different Mock-tails & I actually enjoyed all of them. Loved the Guacamole the most! Even in my head I was already making new recipes with guacamole lol.First time trying oysters & I liked it. Now I am not afraid to try it again lol! Also tried octopus for the first time & I loved it. I am so glad I was able to come, loved every minute of it.Met some new beautiful faces, tried to make some new friends. End of the day it was a wonderful event . Btw, the restaurant itself is beautiful, not too big. Small, cozy & cute little spot . Thank you Cena for the invite…❤️“

“I'm obsessed with Lunera! This Colombian-Mexican gem in Astoria has stolen my heart and taste buds. Their sangria is hands-down my favorite - a perfect blend of fruity and tangy. But honestly, everything on the menu is a must-try! From the mouthwatering churrasco (their specialty, and for good reason!) to the flavorful empanadas and paella , every dish is a masterpiece. The owners are often present, warmly greeting customers and making everyone feel like family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is top-notch. If I had to choose just one favorite, it'd be the churrasco - but honestly, I dream about everything on their menu! Five stars and a permanent spot on my favorite restaurants list. ?? Lunera, you have my heart (and taste buds) forever!“

“I haven't historically sought out tamales since they are so often made with red meat, which my pescatarian palate doesn't touch. Evelia's however, changed the game a bit, offering lots of vegetarian options catering to a variety of palates. Evelia's has a reputation as one of the best places to get tamales in New York. I often organize casual restaurant crawls through Queens, and on my last one I made this one of the first stops. Their menu features an impressive array of options, including quesadillas, tacos, and tortas, but the real star of the show is undoubtedly the tamales. Determined to try all the vegetarian ones, I was kind of disappointed to learn that the Impossible tamales featured on their menu aren't ever actually on offer due to lack of demand. I ordered the only vegetarian one they actually had, which was queso and beans. The tamale itself was a revelation, bursting with flavor and paired so well with the bright, zingy sauce that accompanied it. I was very impressed by how savory it was. Evelia's has managed to prove that meat-free doesn't have to mean flavor-free. This Queens gem is worth a visit whether you're a tamale enthusiast or a skeptic like me.“

“The reviews are right. This place has great tasting food! We got the J*** chicken with rice and peas and plantains. We also got the wings with Rasta Pasta and plantains. Everything was on point and super flavorful. I highly recommend the wings - they are the best thing we got and the best wings you can get. I will say it was a little more expensive than usual but the portion sizes were good and the food tasted great so its worth it. Highly recommend trying this place.“

“It was a beautiful spring day as I was welcomed into the bar area which is fairly large. Many people were there due to st Patrick’s day. The bartender greeted me and I was fortunate enough to meet the owner through a buddy of mine. The beer was nice and cold and the people were friendly. Found a table outside with two young ladies and my bud. We shared frozen margaritas and then they put 90s hip hop and r&b.. my favorite. The sun was setting so we had to go. Highly recommend for a chill night out, will definitely try the food next time!“

“Brooklyn has sooooo many restaurants from soooo many different cuisines and ethnicities...enough to make my head spin. It sometimes feels impossible to choose where to eat on any given day. On this day, Mexican takes center stage by way of El Jeffe! El Jeffe touts itself as modern Mexican, with a menu featuring an array of classic Mexican dishes, with a focus on tacos, in a casual setting. A long way of saying we have all kinds of Mexican food! When in doubt, always got for tacos. I opt for the holy trifecta: fried chicken, jerk pork, and fried shrimp. The fried shrimp is easily the best of the bunch. Sure the shrimp is well seasoned, but it's the entire build of the taco which takes it over the top....Pickled onions, cheese, spicy mayo. The jerk pork is what I was most excited about, and although wonderful tender, it simply is not jerk. Special mention to the chicken which is beautifully battered and fried. With that being said, the tortillas on this day, were unfortunately on the stale and chewy side, which obviously puts a damper on any taco. Overall El Jeffe ticks almost all the right boxes. Pro tip : do not leave without trying the juices!“
