“This place is Top Tier! From David, our Waiter to Dessert ? was PERFECT! The Bread Service with warm and soft Pretzel Bread, with whipped butter! Nobody has a better Bread Service! I had the Black Orchid Mocktail, Appetizer Surf and Turf (Scallops, Braised Short Ribs with Gnocchi and Black Garlic Jus) and my BFFFL had the Berries and Bubbles, THE LOBSTER MAC WAS EVERYTHING! The ridged pasta, with a silky-smooth Gruyére and Asiago Parmesan Béchamel Sauce and Succulent Lobster will be seared in my mind until the next time I am back in Columbus and I only had a spoonful from my Friend's plate! For Dessert, the Warm Butter Cake with Berries and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream was even better the next day!All I can say is GO! You won't be disappointed!“

“Visited Columbus for a few weeks and tried dinner at many restaurants. This was the only restaurant that I made sure to circle back to. Everything that was ordered as a group was shared and it was all a hit!!! Almost all of the appetizers Spoon pudding, Deviled eggs, wings, tots, mussels, wrapped dates, pie, Beet salad, just to name a few!“

“This hidden gem is absolutely amazing. From the food to the service - this place is 5 stars across the board. We’ve ordered different menu items every visit, and they’re always top notch. The short rib burger is in my top 3 best burgers of all time. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Columbus!“

“Someone has to have the newly trained server and sit beneath the American Flag. It's a loud table because you see all the servers butts typing in their orders forgetting we can hear them. She was in the weeds and she tried but no bread no salad dressing and the loudest table despite the reservation made weeks in advance. Do better Cam.“

“Loved the fast, friendly, funny and graceful host without a doubt a spot to get some fat eats in ? My big Fat Greek sandwich has me feeling blessed and educated on why this place is "The Mad Greek" because I know I'm going to have to pop the button on my pants after this huge sandwich? ... For Greek food the prices weren't bad there was a nice bar and area for seating inside with a atmosphere that is comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend. ✌??Vegetarian options: If you're a veggie Greek food has no shortage of options without meat ? I didn't try but would and a heartbeat and the pastries and desserts are nothing short of homemade slices of goodnessParking: Clean parking lot off a busy street so be careful pulling in and watch the pull out of your ride is lowKid-friendliness: Would definitely bring kids here“

“We are beyond impressed by the food, great owner, friendly chef, and fantastic experience at Golden Fried Chicken and Fish. This is the place if you’re looking for true southern-style fried catfish. My husband and I went here for lunch. There was plenty of parking and a steady flow of folks in and out for good reason. The owner, J.R., greeted us as soon as we walked in. He was very helpful, informative, and so nice. His staff clearly respects him, and he runs a great shop. It only took 10 minutes to get all our food steaming hot and fresh. I ordered the catfish dinner. My husband ordered the Golden Combo. Just, wow. The flavor on this is 10/10. The last time I had catfish this good was when we were down south. Golden Fried Chicken and Fish is the best catfish in Columbus. Great business, incredible food. We can’t say enough great things.“

“Great fried fish and clam strips! Very much like the old Arthur Treachers. The hush puppies also were very good. The service was good and efficient, considering how busy they were on this Wednesday night. Negatives, shrimp and scallops were somewhat underwhelming, they were your basic frozen variety. The restaurant was super clean and inviting. I'd recommend this place!“
“Delish! The Staff Member we had, didn't know much about Oysters. Lol So we asked for Best Sellers. He gave us Mintersweet (WA), Fiddle Heads (MA) & Island Pearls (NE). All 3 had Different & Unique Flavor! We also tried the Jumbo Shrimp. You Can't Beat the Prices during their Happy Hour!“

“Akai Hana brings a fresh, authentic taste to dining in Columbus. We were welcomed by not only a wonderful staff, but also a signed picture of one of our favorite baseball players, Munenori Kawasaki. The restaurant was relaxing and comfortable, and our waiter was very patient as we struggled to decide among so many good options. We decided on a noodle dish and bento box, and neither disappointed. We look forward to coming back for many times to come.“

“I was highly disrespected by a female manager that wouldn't give me her name. I placed a carryout order and picked it up with my 2year old son. I asked to have a drink at the bar, shr says i can't sit with my son at the bar, and she states she could make vme a togo drink, not mentioning i could sit elsewhere at a seat, booth etc. Some guy at the bar says i was asking too many questions. So i go to leave because at this point i feel disrespected. I then can and ask her name and she says she Doesn't have to give her name.“

“A great seafood find in Columbus...!!!! Best King Crab leg boil around; definitely number 1 in my book! Great and quick service...so easy to get in and enjoy a good meal. The service is impeccable & Emily is the Greatest...!!!!!!! Her attention to detail and ability to connect with customers is refreshing. Meat was cooked to order-rare! Crab, sweet, juicy. Hungry yet? Small, cozy venue. We had a very short wait at 6:00 pm. Highly recommend this long standing Columbus business.Parking: Located in a strip mall so plenty of free parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair parking spots and we used one.“

“Passing through the area and was craving Italian of which Columbus seemingly has 97 Italian restaurants...Settled on TAT Ristorante due to cozy look and have we have a 10yr old. Wow, so glad we did. This place is a throwback to traditional, Italian Sunday family eating.Calamari- light, tender with a homemade marinara.Wedding soup to die for. Salads in a chilled bowl with the light, crisp and bright vinegarette not to be skipped!I had a seafood lasagna special that l'll have dreams about, the cheeses were all crusty on the edges giving this texture beyond amazing.Aaaaaand we simply couldn't pass on dessert, the tiramisu was traditional comfort but.... The lemon cream cake is a light, airy lemony confection that I'll compare all future desserts to. Service was provided by someone I felt was family by the end of our meal! Lots of locals here, they know what's up. Hope to be back here again if I'm ever in Ohio again....!“

“Great food but it's a little pricey. And I called to place an order and they said I wasn't able to place an order. They also need to update the pictures of the menu. I went to the location and ordered the Shrimp Philly thinking it was $12.99 then the lady at the window tells me $15. It would be nice if things were up to date but for the most part it's great food.“

“I see they have locations around town; I've been to other seafood boil places but I don't think to any of theirs. Strip-mall, unassuming from the outside, dark and "nautical" on the inside. Nice, not fancy. No frills- because you are going to be making a mess. Paper on the tables, rolls of paper towels handy. I got the basics, their standard boil, L1 I think: shrimp (no heads but peel 'em,) crab (crack 'em,) sausage, with an egg and corn cob and a potato. I could easily have eaten another corn and egg, and the potato came in handy, along with the other extras, to take a break between shoveling seafood in my mouth. Got their house seasoning, which seems like a cross between Old Bay and garlic butter. Went with medium spice; I like heat, but you just never know from place to place. They brought the bag, plus a bucket and bib and gloves. I used the bib as a precaution but would have been okay without it, perhaps by sheer luck. Gloves helped. They brought a cracker and a normal fork; I asked for a skinny fork and they brought one. Loads of food, perfectly cooked. Tender big shrimp, crab with a decent amount of meat in the legs and knuckles, lots of pretty good sausage. The flavor, and the heat, seemed lacking at first. But they both built along the way, either just in my mouth or from the food sitting in the liquid. Mmm. Very good. The heat ended up lower than a medium, I would say. But I like spice so YMMV. I would go up a notch or two next time. Service was friendly and fast, though minimal. I came right when they opened and was the only one there for a bit. Expensive, but it's seafood and a lot of it. Not quite as good as the best boil places I've been to, but pretty good, and I left stuffed with good food.“

“While the food was served promptly and was good, the music they had playing over their sound system was soooo loud, my dining companion and I could not have a conversation during our lunch. We had to just sit, eat and leave. It was so loud that when I asked the server a question about the menu, he couldn't understand what I was asking and completely answered me with something that made no sense to what I asked. I actually made a comment about the loud music, but was only asked if I wanted to be moved to a booth IN THE SAME LOUD ROOM. A booth was not an option since we specifically requested to sit at a table because a booth did not give my dining companion the back support needed. Our lunch was the most UNPLEASANT experience I had ever had at El Vaquero. If the music being that loud is their new normal, I don't recommend dining there. Not if you want to talk to those you are dining with.“

“Foods good bit felt very nickle and dimed. Spent almost 100 on seafood, but it didn't come with corn or potatoes. $2 to add half piece of corn... OK so 2 people 2 ears of corn $16, add 2 potatoes for 2 people that's another $8. The bag was rather dry without enough space to dip the corn into, "do you want the $3 or the $6 extra sauce?" What I really wanted was enough sauce to begin with but sure. $160 for 2 people and after a $20 tip, felt pretty excessive for what we received. Probably wouldn't go again even though the food was great.“

“The location is ok, but it's always the little spots that have some of the best food.. I ordered some fried chicken and fries, it was so good. “I'll start with I travel to Columbus from the deep South regularly so I know what a good bowl of gumbo is. Perhaps I'm a little spoiled but I want to give an honest review but, this is just my humble opinion. The two orders of Gumbo I received were watered down to a soup consistency. Gumbo in the South is thick like chowder. With a little more rue added it would have been really good. All the flavors of the South were in there and really tasty. Also the shrimp in the gumbo pictures on the website are nice and fat like gulf shrimp used down South. What I received in my 2 cups was closer to popcorn shrimp. But it was still shrimp so I was okay with it and since I was in Columbus the selection of shrimp may be limited so I suppose you have to settle somewhat for what is available in the local area. The workers were nice and told me the owner was from Bama so I knew he knows good gumbo.. The price was about the same as what I pay down South so no complaints there. I'll be passing through Columbus again in about a week or so and will stop in for a second round. Perhaps I got served from a fresh pot that didn't have time to cook down and thicken. All in all it was really tasty so give them some support by trying something of the menu and see what you think. After I try round 2 I'll upgrade my review if the gumbo is a little thicker and the shrimp is like the size pictured. If not I'll just try other things that are on the menu to see what I like best. Thanks guys and gals for offering tastes from the South way up there in Columbus.“

“This is my favorite place to go when I get out. I only go in the day early. Well I went this evening 7:30 drove and 1 1/2 hr in a Friday snow storm, not busy. This time I was soo disappointed and I was bragging. I was surprised the food was trash. Butter sauce was not hot spicy wise, I don’t eat pork they put pork sausage in after I made it clear. Tonight just was not it. If I do deal with them again it’ll be in the mid day. Service was horrible, had 3 diffent servers it was a mess.“

“I had the pleasure of visiting this incredible Black-owned family business this month and I was so pleased that I got to do so with a couple of friends. We tried a number of things including etouffee, jambalaya, a po boy, mac n cheese, green beans, beignets, soup, plus a whole lot of hospitality. The dining room at their current location is teeny tiny with only a couple of 2-seater tables, but we were able to push two together to accommodate 3 of us. They're located in a strip mall and the spot doesn't look like too much from the outside, with just a walk-up window on the interior. One of the owners, Tonya, took our orders and served us and let us know that her dad, a chef of 60 years was still rockin and rollin' in the kitchen. They have been at this location for 18 years. The etouffee was a little thin, but served with 2 tasty sides and had some good flavor. The chicken and andouille jambalaya was served in a heaping portion. Each were offered with a spice level between 1-5-- we ordered both with a level 4. They had some kick to them but weren't insanely spicy. The Toni po boy was so big that we received it in two different takeout containers. 1 serving of jambalaya and 1 sandwich could easily feed 4 people a hefty meal. Instead, I'll have leftovers for days and I'm not mad about it. The po boy was filled with a salad of sorts that included black olives, lettuce, and onions-- the main element was a mixture of fried proteins including mini shrimp and chicken. It came with 2 sides of their po boy sauce. I would recommend ordering extra sauce on the side if you can. We also tried one of their soups which was actually rice topped with the soup. It was all really tasty with a red sauce base containing a mix of veggies. The beignets were airy, light, fluffy, and came in an ample serving with a TON of powdered sugar and steaming hot, as they should. The amount of food we received for the price was definitely fair, especially considering that we were eating authentic family recipes. I dined with friends who have spent a lot of time in New Orleans, (I've never been), but was told that the jambalaya and po boy were both comparable to what they'd expect to find there. We were told that they'll be moving soon and opening a new location on Long St and I can't wait to check them out when they open up the new spot in June. They'll be closing this location at the end of March or early April so check them out beforehand if you can, or bookmark them for their reopening this summer-- I highly recommend it!“

“It took me a few trips to review but I love it, I'm contracted every Friday at the apartments behind it, now granted I only ordered one thing off the menu and always tempt too! However they are consistent and I'm afraid if I order something else, my expectations probably will set to high. I might be let down and shy away. From a Cultural stand point, I'm born and Raised in New Orleans. So when I go to that little intersection, it reminds me of home so much. All those Blacks giving there money to another Race, in their own Neighborhood. And without the Resources, they will never ever ever have a community. Wings are big as hell , Fries are Free and they aren't stingy at all! Always hot with steam in your face when one opens the plate! Did I mention the wings are very Meaty!“

“If you like seafood definitely have to try this place. For my first time it was very good. The shrimp and crab legs were perfect. The shrimp in the bottom was a little over cooked but I’m not complaining. It was sitting in the juice and still tasted better than most places I have tried. Well worth it for the price and I definitely will be back!“
