“This place is a true gem. Soft piano greets you as you step off an elevator with a fishtail behind. Calamari, was tender and not greasy, dinners were fabulous, server had impeccable knowledge of the region of the fish my husband ordered, kompachi, a Hawaiian fish. Desert did not disappoint with cinnamon roll garnished with candied bacon and iced cream. It was fabulous, all around! “Heart of Gold has so far been the best bite to eat in Cleveland since I moved here from the South. The atmosphere is trendy but laid back with good lighting and a cute small bar. I really loved the menu design, it is very obvious that even the smallest details of this restaurant have been thought out.The overall menu has an interesting and cohesive direction that incorporates Southern and Italian food - which to me was very reminiscent of the kind of fare you'd find in a lunch spot in New Orleans - especially their Tiki drinks on offer.The service was wonderful; everyone was kind, helpful, and seemed excited about the food.We chose the Roman, the fried chicken sandwich, the waffle fries, and the onion rings with the house made ranch.The Roman is a solid sandwich where you can taste every part mentioned in the menu description. I thought all of the ingredients played well together and reminded me a bit of a muffeletta.The waffle fries were very good - I thought the everything seasoning was a very smart choice (the ridges in the fries hold the seasoning in place) and were perfect for dipping. The fry crispiness to fluffiness ratio was to me a perfect balance. My only complaint is that they tasted a little too much of oil.The onion rings were very surprising to me. They are to this date the best onion rings I've ever had. The breading was perfectly crispy and the onion stayed in place upon biting it - which is typically my main issue with onion rings. The sauce drizzled on top paired well with the sweetness with the onion, and the horsey sauce added the right amount of heat.The chicken sandwich was overall a good chicken sandwich. The bread and the maggi mayo punch above their weight and those alone make this a stand out. The chicken was crispy and perfectly cooked. I personally think the chicken itself could use a little more flavor, but again that is only my taste.I can't wait to return to this restaurant and try the other items on the menu. “Excellent cannolli cake! Its a slice for two people.... Best value desert they have! Creamy, custurdy filling and moist cake layers. Topped with chocolate chips.... Gotta have that crunch! Sometimes i get a coffee or capicino with it. Their entrees are great too but...... All i ate was the cake on this visit. I highly recommend just about anything here. “Excellent atmosphere and food. There appeared to be some confusion among the servers on several occasions on issues I couldn't discern. Plus, they also appeared a bit harried at times too. As well, the service was a bit "uneven" on several occasions during the meal. And, more specifically, when my table was cleared between courses, silverware was not automatically replenished. Plus, there were noticeable gaps in getting my table cleared between courses.“

Our server, Erin, was very courteous and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. “I travel frequently and always search out Indian cuisine. I stumbled across this little place quite by accident, the small parking lot was full so I figured the local people knew something. That’s a serious understatement, this place stands toe to toe with any Indian Restaurant I’ve ever been in, and I frequent Indian Restaurants all over. My work takes me to different areas, so I think I have experience with different cuisines. This place is a real treasure, if I lived closer, I would be a regular. I encouraged the owner to open a branch in my small university town, but he’s got a jewel of a restaurant right here. Take my word for it, hands down one of the best dining experiences anywhere!“

A couple of people in our group ordered the tuna, which was heavily seasoned and too spicy for one.I thought the prices were a little higher than other restaurants, but not too bad. “This is our favorite Chinese place. I love noodles and they have a good variety of noodles. Lo Meij, Chow Fun (dry), etc.This isn't the typical Americanized Chinese where most entrees are in either a sweet orange sauce or a bland white or brown sauce. This is much more in line with authentic Chinese and each dish has its own unique flavor. My favorites are the Sea, Wind and Fire and the Blackened Steak for meat entrees. The beef is also higher quality than many typical Chinese restaurant.For vegetables, I'm not a huge fan of the texture of eggplant, but I love the Chinese Eggplant and how it's prepared here. The Chinese Broccoli and Bok Choy are also good options.If you are dining there, the experience is pleasant. The place is tastefully decorated and the bathrooms are clean. But like most places, they can use a little more help on the service side. However, it's clear everybody is working hard and it's not a problem unless you are just trying to get through your meal quickly as possible.“

I walked into here and was seated in a booth, which came with complimentary tortilla chips and salsa, which tasted good. I ordered the burrito de la diabla, which is a spicy burrito with chorizo and beef inside with a side of rice. The burrito wasn’t very spicy, but it tasted quite good nonetheless. My booth had a bottle of hot sauce with it, which was much spicier and added a lot of flavor to my meal. After having this hot sauce with my meal, I left, satisfied with my experience. “My Wife and I went to Mahle's Friday the 22nd for our 38th wedding anniversary. because we were eating early we didn't think we would need reservations but upon arrival we were told that with the walk-ins they had and the reservations on the books they were full. The food was a bit expensive...would have been nice to pay a bit less and get normal size portion. Sides are served more family style which was good. Service was friendly, but a bit rough for an expensive restaurant. Environment was nice, tablecloth tables, higher end. There is a small patio as well in the front. Would go back again.“

“This place is incredible! My mom and I came here a few weeks ago to try it since it had changed to a new Mexican restaurant. I’m a vegetarian and they had plenty of options and the food was delicious. Everything is made fresh to order so we were even able to order guacamole without any onions in it. “Attractive and very popular restaurant in the heart of Bay Village. Reasonably priced. Mix a good Manhattan and Irish coffee. Are off the left side of the menu, salad small but very tasty house dressing, wedding soup was OK, stuffed mushrooms were very small, looked silly in the plate they were served on. Tasted good.. Tasted my friend's salmon, I don't like salmon but this was pretty good. Would definitely go again.“
