New American Restaurants near North College Hill, OH

“Saw the mixed reviews and it made me nervous but I tried it anyway. The fish SLAPPED, as the kids today would say. It was well seasoned, not too salty and fried HARD. Yay! The yams were pretty good and not runny. People have a tendency to NOT know how to properly cook yams. They use too much water, when yams are full of water themselves and need just a small amount and not to be saturated and lose flavor. The greens? Chopped too uniform like. These do not look hand cut, they aren't canned but they aren't rolled and hand cut. They are still good. Now, on Doordash, you can't order cornbread but in store and on their direct site, you can. I took the liberty of making my own corn cakes, as you can see in the picture. I'm glad they do offer cornbread though, despite the Doordash issue. Too many restaurants scream "Soulfood" or "Southern" in this area BUT don't serve cornbread. The sides are HUGE. That's a plus. I ate on this meal 3 times.They also sent me a free side of Okra. I sincerely appreciate it. I LOVE okra.I know I was long-winded but hey... lol.I will be back.Edit: So, I'm confused now. Apparently, their in house menu doesn't offer cornbread anymore. Y'all can correct me in the reviews if need be but I will leave my review up until further notice lol.“

“Loved our dining experience at Bouqet. Our server Ella was great! We tried the focaccia bread (delicious) and the cheese plate to start. Loved the pickled options. We also tried the steak, meatballs, and salmon. All were so good. The only reason I didn't give full 5 stars due to the noise level from a neighboring table. They were even nice enough to provide a complimentary dessert to apologize for the table's rowdiness. Would definitely recommend and return!“

Burrata and tomato jam was basically an amazing caprese, sooo good. We also had truffle mushrooms which we added to dumpling broth, YUM! and also had the perfect broccoli with just an ok aioli. Was unimpressed with crab avocado toast, not worth the expense. Have had a a lot of crab food options s and this underwhelmed. My husband is a brownie sundae officianato and he seriously loved the s'more brownie dessert. Overall, great food and sat outside away from a noisy interior on a Friday night.“

“We have been to York Street Cafe for dinner several times, but never went there for brunch. I would highly recommend it. Food was very good and price was appropriate. The presentation of the food was very attractive (got the brunch board). I really like the ambiance of this place.“

“Our server was very nice, but failed to put our food in and it was "held". We were with a large party and they were getting their to-go boxes while we were still waiting for our food. Also there was a big difference in the drinks made by the two bartenders. One made the drink anemic (weak and less volume) the other bartender was spot on, perfect blend and decent size.“

“We had a gift certificate given to us for Christmas a couple of years ago that we finally got to use. The pros: It was a really good time having dinner on the train, being entertained and hearing some history. The staff was awesome and really went above and beyond. After dinner they highly recommended to explore the train, which we did. It was quite a ride back holding on as we were walking, but it made for some good laughs. Several groups of people dressed up forties style which was very cool. I would suggest if you have a special occasion to book well in advance if you can. Some of the cons: Also I felt that the price was a little high for what you got. Drinks were about average price these days, $12 a piece and tip added another $50. Also they sat us with another couple, which I wasn't a fan of, but oh well. Another thing, don't be expecting beautiful scenery on this ride. It was a lot of graffiti on the back side of buildings and shopping centers. Lol.“

“Tried Lana's Diner for the first time. Time of our visit came just after their lunch rush. It was obvious they had been busy and at the moment of our arrival, there was only one server waiting tables. While there was a little wait, it was understandable why. The one server, though overwhelmed, did not allow the circumstance to rattle her or keep her from pushing on to take care of customers. I was impressed by how she worked her job without letting her job work her. Her attitude remained polite and helpful to those she was serving. Food was very good and was presented as quickly as was reasonably possible. It was good service considering the circumstance. I give Lana's 5 Stars We will be back!! I highly recommend this down-home diner!!“

“Last time we came here we had a gift card for Oakley kitchen, and the man working at the time (April 16th 2024 actually) did sketches and drawings and was super nice, (also the burgers are phenomenal) he figured out how to use the gift card perfectly fine and even rung us up a second time for another order. We came again today and they suddenly can’t take the gift card, it’s a 100 dollar gift card and there’s only four places even open here with fat Al’s being one of the two places we’re interested in. Really dissapointing as it was used perfectly fine the last time TWICE and we drove half an hour to get here specifically for their burgers. The manager was on the phone and said they were one of the last people to switch to using a card (or something like that??) but again it worked last time we came so that doesn’t make any sense :/ our visit today was on 4/30/24.“

“I had both dinner and breakfast here and was so impressed with the friendly staff who were more than accommodating with our menu modifications. The manager checked on us both times and took pride in making sure we were well served. The portions were enormous and beautifully presented. You get what you pay for in every way here. “Went here on a Saturday a little after noon. We were seated immediately and each person working was super hospitable and welcoming! The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant while still maintaining a upscale (but approachable) scene. The menu is limited and rotates for the time of day which makes ordering easy. Everything is super high quality and definitely some of the best food I’ve had in NKY/Cincy!!! Our server, I think her name is Anette, was really great! “The hotel, museum, and restaurant are beautiful and unique. We were seated at exactly the time of our reservation. We all enjoyed our food so much, and we fell in love with the little potatoes you call home fries. Our server was a bit distracted and tentative (she forgot our drinks, got confused how to take my bacon back to get it cooked more without taking my whole plate), but she wasn't terrible. We were amazed at how reasonable the prices were for such a nice experience. In no small part, Metropole was responsible for helping me have one of the best Mother's Days ever!“

Just very comfortable great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.Service was a little rough. Asked to be remade and put to go and it was overcooked again.HOWEVER....Rob, The Executive Chef, came personally to our table to figure it out. Got a burger out fast, made sure it was right, and comped it.Also brought us 2 gift cards for a future visit.I have to say he saved the day. “I recently used Kitchen 1883 to provide food options for a party that I had and it was wildly successful. The Caulisprouts were just about everyone’s favorite, but I got so many compliments on the pulled pork w/Tabasco slaw and the Greek wraps (it was a great vegetarian option)too! The team that worked with me to deliver and set up the food was incredible. So friendly and helpful, definitely went above and beyond!“

“The food is great. Staffing doesn’t seem to be an issue for them. Bring your patience though, apparently while at “work” the employees think it’s social hour every hour. They disappear in to the kitchen and in the drink “ cubby” Very upsetting because took some friends for their 1st time there only to have ridiculously slow service.“
