This may be because the building was previously an IHOP and not redecorated.While all this may sound like criticism, it really is just the opposite. We found the atmosphere to be more relaxed allowing you to focus on your dinner partner and your meal.Intentional or not... It works for us.Service was excellent. Unrushed. We had drinks which were generous yet reasonably priced. The chili topping really set the dish above other local restaurants. The rice was well seasoned and perfectly fluffy and dry (but not hard) as it should be. The refried beans were the desired creaminess. I think every employee came up to us throughout our dinner to greet us, ask if we needed anything, cleared plates, filled our cups, etc. Also, our server was very knowledgeable about what was and was not gluten free on their menu. I haven’t had anything this close to authentic and tasted this good in Ohio ever so since I moved back from California in 2013. We placed our orders and our entree's came out open hot and in a timely manner. I'll tell you the portions were HUGEMUNGUS! And WOOOOOOOOO! Deeeeelicioius. Myself I got the #39 Enchiladas Rancheras, (chicken) they were delicious, I kindve felt the chicken could've used some seasoning, but over all were very good when adding the guacamole and other sides. But I'll tell ya, the #128 Burrito Azteca and the #43 Fajitas De La Casa is where it's at ( the kids choices) they were big and smelled delicious. There was an abundance of meat, peppers and onions. Next time I will be trying one those (if not both ) . The #87 Fajita Taco Salad also was well portioned my daughter didn't was anytime crushing it ( I was impressed). So if you're feeling like Mexican and want to get some great food and plenty of it, head over to Fiesta Jalapeños and have a great experience. I know it won't be our backup choice next time, but our first choice.“

“Not sure what expectations went unmet to earn. Three star rating for this small Mexican restaurant in Oberlin. Maybe service was inattentive, or the menu was too vast, but for my money, in a region of Mexican restaurants, this one stood out to me. Chips were most likely out of a bag came with a generous serving of salsa. Entrees were served hot and delicious. My chimichangas were delightfully tasty with a cream sauce and a requested verde sauce. The guacamole salad, rice and beans were light accompaniments to the tasty chimichangas. Although they sprang into the Mexican food vernacular from a Scottsdale, Arizona, Mexican restaurant, they can be found world wide including Mexico. The origin story I heard was that a few Chinese workers In Scottsdale were on their way to work eating these roll ups. The owner of a restaurant thought she heard them ask for another chimichanga. When she went to the family restaurant she experimented with roll ups and walla, the chimichanga was born. My wife ordered #53 steak tacos. Again, straight forward the soft taco was covered with garlicky seasoned and salted flank steak. Marinated meat, easy to chew and flavorful to boot, a home run. Their tall Pacifico beers come in chilled mugs with lime. A five star slightly bigger than a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, not too far from home. Ole!“

“Finally, after moving back to Lorain County last year from Southern California, we have found an authentic, go to, Mexican restaurant right here in downtown Lorain. My group had enchiladas, chimichangas, steak tacos, and beef burrito, all very good. The refried beans were perfect and maybe some of the best Spanish rice I have had anywhere! They also offer beer, wine, and liquor, so Dos Equis and Margaritas for the table. I got to meet the owner, Victor, and let him know how much we enjoyed our meals. We will be back soon!“
