“Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN2.9.24 Dinner Springfield OHSo you know we don't do BBQ much outside of Texas but every now and then you gotta have it.So we stopped at Comfort Suites nearby and wanted a close place to eat. Saw Rudy's and decided to check it out. The reviews were off the chart. So with those kind of reviews you have to try it.Diane and I got the sampler plate as I like to try as many different meats as possible to get a true report on thier cooking. The sampler had 6 meats. Pulled chicken, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, brisket, and ribs. A carnivores delight ?.It comes with 2 sides of which we chose scalloped potatoes and bacon green beans and 2 slices of garlic buttered Texas toast. The review is easy. All the meats were absolutely delicious and tender. The pulled pork, turkey and pulled chicken looked as if it could be dry but they were very tender. Every meat was cut with a fork tender. We had the sweet sauce and the Bourbon sauce, both of which were very good. The scalloped potatoes and the green beans were also wonderful. All of the portions were nice. The only slight mishap was the toast was just slightly overcooked but still tasted good. Loved that garlic butter.Overall I would have to say this is definitely some of the best BBQ I've had outside of Texas. Maybe the best.We can't recommend this place enough.Overall, highly recommended two thumbs-up ? ?.“
“We ordered from poppy's for a graduation party for our kids yesterday and the food was a hit! Everyone wanted to know where we ordered from and we gladly told them! The sweet bbq sauce us amazing (even though the food doesn't need sauce at all) and I would highly recommend the brisket we have tons of leftovers but the brisket is cleaned out!!! The owner was awesome excellent customer service definitely will be returning!!!!“
“Great time with the family, used our Veterans Day Dinner passes, I'm an U. S. Army (Ret.) Veteran and my brother is a U. S. Navy Veteran, as well as the whole family, celebrated our Mother's Birthday ?? too. Excellent service and had an amazing time! It was packed and the servers were getting people in and out of there like a military deployment ?. I have two pieces of advice, call ahead to get in, there is no longer a waiting area in the Springfield TRH location, so a "call ahead" is key to getting in and getting seated and served.?️?(called at 3:30pm for a 5:30pm dinner date). And the 2nd, if you downloaded the app for TRH, use the same timeframe for setting up your dinner ?️ time, downloaded and set a date for our dinner, 2 days in advance and it called me an hour & 10 minutes after I set the time and date. Called and talked with the staff and Manager, and they explained the procedures for the "Call Ahead" and mobile ? app, so it's a verified process. Reason I explained this, last time I made a reservation, was pre COVID, so a lot of things have changed. Hence, the bags of peanuts ?, ask your servers for these, as the once peanut ? barrel at the front door ? and metal bucket's on your table of peanuts ? and the other for your empty shells, have become a thing of the past, memories of good times, my wife's favorite thing about this restaurant, she's sentimental ?. Have fun and create some memories @TRH??????????️ #rollsruleParking: 2 Veterans parking ?️ spaces available in front of the building.Kid-friendliness: Kids love the critter tenders and mini burgers!!“
“Go Springfield! So many new options and this place is perfect for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of my main course but the homemade chicken noodle soup was divine. Service was top-notch and our food was excellent! Can't wait to come back home for another visit so I can frequent our amazing restaurants!“
