It’s still a good restaurant with a good Mexican atmosphere. The building is old but it’s been in business for 70 years and is on Route 66. “Food was good, the poor waitress was overwhelmed, the place was jam- packed with customers, with patrons wait in the lobby for a table. The decor was definitely different with metal artwork touching the ceiling and the partitions between the booths made of old wood windows. An enjoyable atmosphere for both young and old.“
“I came here for the first time a few days ago with my sister. The restaurant was very clean and had a good feel to it. Our waitress was phenomenal! She made sure we had everything we had, our drinks refilled at all times. We got our food quickly and it was hot and fresh! First time eating here and I will definitely be coming back! We got the enchiladas with beans and rice and it was good, wasn't top tier but it was good for what it was. The queso dip that we ordered with our chips was hands down the best queso I've had!“
“We go for lunch every once in a while. I get the chili verde, it's ok, mom gets the combo,she likes it,and my step dad get a shrimp on a banana leaf.a lot of shrimp.its consistent .i don't like their salsa( thats why the 4 stars), the service is alittle slow and hard to keep drinks filled. They kinda want to sit us in the back, when they see it's hard for my mom to walk.i get that it make be a server rotation thing, but the server could switch tables..“

“The food was really good, the waiting for the food was decent, the only suggestion that I have is for them to have catchup, they have kids menu and it is a kid stipple, but other than that this place is one of my go to for lunch during work days. Parking is also very accessible considering the area.“

“Love this place! When I moved from Texas to Tulsa, I WAS spoiled by the variety of Tex-Mex in my Dallas area. El Chico & El Fenix were my " go-to" places! There were very few choices. So I was delighted. So, I have been an ElChico convert since. There was a Tex-Mex place named, Guadalajara and it was mom & pop owned, it was beyond awesome, too bad it was forced to close due to the owner's divorce. Great place!“

“Second time going to Abuelo's. We experienced Abuelo's in TX and stopped here on our Eclipse road trip. We had Angie as our server and she was super nice and accommodating. She checked ingredients due to my numerous allergies and kept checking in after the food arrived to make sure all is okay. The fajitas are always always yummy and I really liked their tomatillo pineapple salsa....that was THE best! Great service and food!“
