This winery has the best wine and so much to choose from not only do they have the wine, but they have classes that you can take to enjoy yourself even more the best winery around so many varieties, nobody could leave without finding at least one kind that they like to take home and enjoy even for your friends, which I’m sure they would love this wine and all the other products that they carry. They also have dinners but once a month which are fantastic, great food really nice music and a lot of nice people to talk to so keep your eyes and ears open for a Friday evening that has a dinner scheduled. You won’t regret it if you go. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable and always willing to help with anything that you need when you walk in the door you feel like you’re coming back home very nice atmosphere”

“We had dinner here last night a chicken supreme pizza , the pizza cookie and the garlic bread pizza . We drive 35 ish minutes for the pizza it is so well worth it , fresh yummy ingredients and amazing staff . Always worth the stop !”

“Country Mart is a cute little convenience store and bakery in the Kawarthas. I have been searching for the best butter tart in Ontario — and they were invented here, so the best one in the province is probably the best one in the world. You can see my thoughts on other good butter tarts in my other reviews.

The butter tart at Country Mart is one of the best ones I've tried. What really stood out to me is the crust. It's thick, flaky, and very soft, much more than its counterparts from other bakeries. I much prefer the texture of this tart to the crusts of other butter tarts, so that significantly elevates the product here at Country Mart.

The filling is also good. It has a pleasant texture, solid but also gooey, and with a very slight burnt taste that is very addictive.

Overall I was very impressed, this unassuming bakery punches up with the best in Ontario. Congrats to the owner and staff on baking such an excellent tart!”

“We were there for two family dinners (about ten people per occasion). The most popular dinner on night one was "Halibut and Chips" (followed closely by "Fish and Chips"). There are other dishes on the menu (e.g. Souvlaki, Butter Chicken or Bison Meatloaf). Positive reviews all 'round. On night two, we all had "Pickerel and Chips" which was truly fine, especially when accompanied by the generous and tasty salad. Service was efficient (especially for a large group) and very up-tempo. The menu (posted on the Facebook page) gives you a true sense of the options. A relaxing dinner in cottage country.”

“Food has gone downhill from previous years. Chicken balls are terrible. I don't normally order chicken balls. I honestly prefer just about anything else, but their prices have soared. You need a second mortgage to afford anything else!”

“We tried Brittany’s cookies at an event; my daughter said they were the best cookies she’s ever had and would not stop talking about them. So I hired Brittany to make cookies for my kid’s birthday party. Best choice ever! The cookies were beautiful and delicious. Everyone — kids and grown ups — devoured them. Would absolutely recommend Busy B, it was a great experience.”

“I wasn't there for the atmosphere. The town is gorgeous. I was visiting a good friend, living in the area, and cooking wasn't prioritizing the cathing up we did. The team working there has beautiful souls. The pizza was what we know it is: a delicious treat.”

“Been going there for over 25 years and have yet to have one bad meal, or bad service. Some of the best food I have ever had. When I was out of the area in Toronto they were my gold standard of Chinese food, and I never found a restaurant that matched thier quality in Chinese food.”

“The Lakefield Subway is usually my first option for a to go lunch, during work. The sub masters behind the counter are always really kind and I’ve seen them take a lot from customers. I get the same sub every time and it’s always delicious. The cookies are soft and my favourite part of my meal, besides the friendly workers. Love this Subway.

Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is a good spot to take children. Lots of seating and I think they have booster seats (could be wrong, I’ll check next time I go). Lots of extra napkins available and the washroom is accommodating.”

“The staff are great. When we order and go through the drive thru they always give our dog a pup cone. She loves it and the staff loves it too. They feed her her cone and are so kind to our her. Great fun for the summer.”
