The staff was attentive and friendly. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu! Situated near the lake, you can treat yourself to a relaxing stroll along the park/marina just across the restaurant after a hearty meal and libations. We’d love to visit again. “Hit up Merk with my bestfriend yesterday as it is our favourite spot after a good day of thrifting. We were very excited for the highly anticipated new menu my friend has been telling me about. We were the first ones there and it felt extra special to be some of the first guests to try the new eats and drink menus. Chef killed it!!! We were so over the moon about the flavour combinations and our server/bartender had the best recommendations to navigate the new choices. The pork belly Boa Buns are at THE TOP of my favourites list!! We also got a couple of mocktails, which that specific server made signature and is on the menu, The Paperless Plane. Just, wow. ?All of this followed by a decadent devils food cake jar with score bits and light whipped cream kept a whole smile on my face the rest of the day. The vibes, the people and the food here are always above 5 star. We can’t wait to visit with more friends again. Go try the new menu immediately!!“
“Great experience at plank. Arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday and was seated right away and the food came quickly and was so tasty! They have a great happy hour menu. Highly recommend the torched salmon. It gets busy so reserve a table or come early.“
“Absolutely DELICIOUS pizza. Probably the best I have ever had in Hamilton. So simple but so delicious and flavourful. We did the pepperoni and margherita , and both were fabulous. Drinks were great, service was friendly and quick, atmosphere was warm and inviting, making for a lovely night. Highly recommend.“
“Being vegetarians, we found the options limited and the portion sizes not quite filling, yet the service and atmosphere were enjoyable. It's suitable for a date, though not ideal for those seeking substantial portions. I particularly enjoyed the drinks, especially the Devils Avocado and the Mexican Lager. However, the wait was longer than usual, nearly 1.5 hours. Despite traveling from Toronto to discover this restaurant, I wasn't disappointed overall. However, if you're craving a hearty meal, it might not be the best choice.“
“Cute little family owned cafe. We went to try the empanadas and the churros and they were so fresh and tasty! In fact they were out of veggie empanadas and made them fresh for us! Both the cilantro and hot sauce that came with the empanadas were so delicious! I came all the way from a neighbouring town for this and it was mouth watering. The cafe is beautiful inside and the people that work there are so friendly! Looking forward to returning again soon!“
