“We suddenly stumbled upon Cakes and Bakes this weekend when driving down Bloor St. How we have not noticed it before as every few weeks we are driving along this stretch is beyond me.After a couple of errands in the area, we walked into Cakes and Bakes. There are so many colorful sweet treats on display!We got 2 cupcakes, 2 donuts, and 2 popsicle cake pops to go. There is a nice variety of flavors, so it was tough to choose.My wife was thrilled about and loved the honey lavender cupcake. She hopes it is available again as it was a "flavor of the week."" I had the chocolate caramel and really enjoyed it too.Today, we had the donuts. I had the Boston cream, which I must say is the best one that I have ever had. She had the coconut. Her description of it was similar to mine. Having the lavender cupcake and the coconut donut the day we walked in has "sold" my wife to this establishment.We will have the cake pops later today for our dessert. I am sure they will be just as pleasing to the taste buds.The staff, well it was one person behind the counter, was very friendly and helpful.The overall appearance of the establishment was clean and tidy.We've read many reviews from others since visiting, and it's great to see what others are saying, and seeing what they got... especially the custom cakes.We look forward to another visit in a few weeks and trying some other things.Oh, wait, my wife just said she's thinking that we should drive down there later this morning so she can get one more honey lavender cupcake. “These are the best dessert I've ever had.The chocolate Croissant is flakey, buttery and rich. The Nutella Croissants is filled to the brim in the middle. It will get on your face. But the star to me is the cinnamon sugar knot. Truly sublime. I am definitely going to order more in advance next time.Parking: Small parking lot. 3 spaces. Right beside train track and 4 way stop sign, so be safe and watch where you park.“

“Found this gem of a place by accident, but is definitely one of our favorite cafes. Everyone working was super friendly and personable. I tried the chocolate cake slice and a cappuccino, both of them tasted so Good. Me and my wife agreed that this would be our go to cafe when we are in that area for sure. Thanks for the hospitality!“
