“Of all the sushi I’ve ever had, Plaza Sushi has to be the absolute best. I went last night to the London location with quite a large group. We all ordered different items and every single one was as beautiful as it was delicious. The staff were exceptionally lovely, and we are already planning our return visit. Seriously 100/10, cannot recommend enough!“
“This is probably my favorite sushi place in the London area. The service and food are fantastic. I only order vegetarian sushi, so I can't comment on the quality of the fish, but the vegetarian ingredients are fresh and tasty. My favorites are the yam avocado roll and inari sushi. I haven't found a lot of sushi places in London that actually do the stuffed inari. I highly recommend it!“
“For a late afternoon dinner today, I went to UMIYA Sushi.I ordered a couple milk drinks and three special rolls. One was banana-flavoured and the other, taro-flavoured. They came in little juice boxes. Both were great.Moving on, a chicken teriyaki, Flying Ruby, and Fire Lips were the rolls. I believe the last two are exclusive to and were created by Umiya. But be warned: the Fire Lips is SPICY. The spice is from jalapeno peppers, sriracha, and hot chili sauce. It was oddly cooler in temperature than the other two. The Ruby had many ingredients, both on top and in the center. Toppings were tobiko fish eggs, spicy mayo, and hot sauce; inside were deep fried shrimp, avocado, cucumber, crab, and tamago. A complementary miso soup that I wasn’t even aware of also showed up. The only criticism I would give is the rolls fell apart easily. Everything else was impeccable. Before I left, I felt compelled to try another milk drink. This was coffee-flavoured and I loved it just as much.Inside, it is tight. But you are allowed to sit down if the chairs are free. You get a nice view of cars passing by on Richmond St.The owners won me over with their friendly presence. They gave me a box for my leftovers and a second pair of chopsticks. I showed my appreciation with a tip.“
“I got a takeout veggie tempura combo plate (cost $16 + tax), which included three pieces of california roll, two pieces of gyoza, and very decent portions of salad, rice and miso soup.Really, I just want to talk about the portion of the tempura... I should have taken a photo or counted, but there must have been like 10 HUGE pieces of crispy, hot, delicious tempura. Holy cow, I was so stuffed. Everything tasted fresh, excellent quality and great portions for the price. It says two $ signs when you search this place up on Google, I would really give this place one $, given the portion size. I would certainly be returning very soon. Only thing I would recommend is that they give more soy sauce and some wasabi. Other than that, I couldn't ask for a better sushi experience.“
“The tuna wasn't the best, but their other sushi was good, I had also ordered shrimp yakisoba which was alright. Nothing overly amazing but it isn't a bad spot to go with friends or familyVegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options“
“My friend found this place on Google while on a Costco run in London. What a pleasant surprise! Sushi was amazing - tasty and fresh! They have a couple seats to sit and eat… Wish they had more dine-in seating. Nevertheless, I would definitely return!“
“Casual restaurant with a huge menu that has something for everyone! They even have a gluten-free/vegetarian section to accommodate those with dietary restrictions. For the menu alone, I would come back as it has all the sushi classics and more. Food was reasonably priced and came out quickly.Echoing other reviews, the service seriously needs to be improved. From my two experiences, the staff were all young adults that cared more about hanging out with each other than offering service. On my more recent visit, the server came quickly at first, but when we were ready to order, he was nowhere to be found. We waited a while until I made eye contact with a different server who was just standing there on her phone. I indicated we were ready to order and thought she would take our order or flag our server, but she just looked back down her phone and ignored me. I actually had to get up to find our server who was at the back hanging out with another person. He wasn't familiar with the menu (maybe he was new), but it made me why wonder why I was tipping. If anything, the kitchen deserved my tip for their work.I frequent Ozen Sushi just down the street and though their staff are also of the same demographic, I've never had anything but excellent service. Plaza Sushi should train their staff better or reconsider their restaurant model. I would have no problem ordering and collecting food for myself as this isn't a high-end restaurant. Tipping a useless server just doesn't feel right.“
“My Boyfriend and I had some really big sushi cravings one night and were looking for places to eat. After looking on Google maps we stumbled on Sushi Ya. We had never heard of it so we thought we should try. They had amazing service, GREAT Food, really good prices, and even a little booklet to see what each meal looks like which was very helpful to decide. 10/10 recommend! I will definitely be going again!“
“This is without a doubt the best place to eat in London. The Veggie Poke Bowl is to die for. The staff are incredibly kind and so fast! I've been eating here for a few years (since they opened) and I am 100% addicted. I'm moving out of province and I had to get one last bowl before I go. It's THAT good. I recommend this to everyone all the time!Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are diverse and vast. The veggie poke bowl is unreal but the maki rolls are also so, so good! A++“
“we went (last night) for new years 2024 the place was insanely busy, every table was taken and it appeared most parties joining after us had reservations. luckily by chance we happened to get a seat without reservations after a short wait despite the fact the restaurant was at capacity. the menu was fantastic, the food was exceptional and service was still good even though they were at capacity. I was shocked after my years of eating sushi that i had not been here prior. fantastic, will be returning again.“
“The food is fantastic! Everything from the traditional Banh mi sand which to the refreshing bowls, this place has it all. New owner is doing a fantastic job keeping the old crowd favourites while adding new menu items which I have personally tried many of.“
“The staff were great very accommodating and easy to talk to have answers to all questions I had about the food. The food itself is amazing everything I had was stunning. I had the beef tatiki which was out of this world strongly if you like beef you’ll love this. It comes as a cold meat topped with crispy vegetables which worked well with texture. Also ordered the karaage which is fried chicken it was nice nothing spectacular exactly what you’d expect. I then ordered a mini maki maki. All were amazing sushi my personal favourite was the Hell’s Kitchen. Overall amazing experience I strongly suggest you book as it’s very busy there.“
“Our "go to" place in North London for special occasions, always super fast, super friendly, and absolutely delicious. Discount if paying cash. Kids under 3 eat free, which is nice for us because our toddler eats raw fish like a grizzly bear coming out of hibernation. Also, their fish tank is always fun and well maintained which is nice for the kids.In a world where prices are higher than snoop dog and quality is harder to find than a gold flake in your box of fruit loops, not once have I ever gone here and felt like I didn't get my money's worth.Clean, fast, awesome staff, great food, can't complain one bit.Parking: It's where you store your vehicle when you go in to eat and unnecessary if you walk or take public transit... Lol. Use the gigantic lot to the side of the building if there's nothing out front.Kid-friendliness: Never felt like we shouldn't bring the whole family. Very accommodating, always lets us sit by the fish in a booth.“
“I got the spicy pork ramen last week and that was very good. I almost wish it was a bit spicier but it was still really delicious. Today I ordered the tuna poke bowl with a miso soup and it was also really good! It’s nice and close to work so I will be returning to try more menu items!“
“Tanakaya Japanese Restaurant is a cozy little spot in Covent Garden Market that left me thoroughly impressed. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find that they had a delicious option for me - the miso ramen with dumplings was simply fantastic! The lady serving us was incredibly accommodating and displayed the utmost courtesy throughout our meal. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience, which made the visit all the more memorable. To complement the meal, I tried their boba tea, and it didn't disappoint! The blend of flavors was perfect, and it added a refreshing touch to the entire lunch. The owners of Tanakaya truly take pride in their restaurant, and it shows in the exceptional quality of both the food and the service. If you're in Covent Garden Market and looking for a delightful Japanese dining experience, Tanakaya is the place to be!“
“This place was just around the corner from the Park Hotel we were staying in.The place is casual and clean.I had the bibimbap. It was delicious, and the rice was just right; soft on top and crispy on the hit stone bowl.Service was pleasant and friendly.“
“I love the sushi at Heart. I eat here at least twice a month. Most of the times, I order from home, but sometimes I like to go to the restaurant too. Either way, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. My favorite dish is salmon lover combo, perfect selection, perfect size!“
“The burrito is truly a delightful innovation. The freshness and subtlety of sushi are perfectly encapsulated in the form of a wrap. Each bite is filled with rich flavors and textures, from the tender fish to the soft rice, all harmoniously balanced with vegetables and sauce. i will try other next “
“First of all, let me point out that I'm not Asian, and not a particularly big fan of Sushi. I went to this restaurant with a group of Asian friends. I was completely impressed and blown away. The menu includes many items besides Sushi. Since we all chose from the "all you can eat" menu, I got to try several items. All of them, including the sushi that I didn't think I would care for, were incredibly good. Fresh, beautifully prepared and served, and just tasted amazing! I think the only reason I have not been fond of Sushi in the past is because past experience doesn't even begin to compare with the Sushi served at Hanata. Service is excellent, friendly. Prices are not cheap, but not exorbitant either. Good value considering how GREAT ALL of the food is.“
“The quality and portion sizes were above my expectations, especially for the price. I was really impressed with the quality of the sashimi, they were fresh and large pieces, so you definitely get your money's worth when you order a sashimi combo or platter. I also ordered miso soup, seaweed salad and deep-fried cheese wantons and the portions were generous for the price that I paid. The wantons were full, and the cheese filling was really tasty. The miso had nice big pieces of seaweed and tofu which was above my expectations. I've been to Japanese restaurants that serve underwhelming miso, with few tiny pieces of seaweed and tofu, or sometimes just broth with disintegrated tofu bits - Mikado definitely offers the best miso I've tried in London and again the portions are great for the price.“
“I did phone order for pickup and the food was well prepared. I ordered veggie set (18pcs) and veggie dragon roll. The food was made awesome and was well presented as well. The sushi was rolled properly and wasabi was perfect in taste. The soy sauce on side added a punch to sushi.I recommend this place to anyone looking for best sushi in town. They have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available and food proportions is also worth the amount paid. They said the order will be ready in 15 minutes and it was well on time. We didn’t had to wait for our pickup. Staff is also friendly and cooperative with customers.“
