I first discovered portage bakery in 1978 with our Italian club Leader John Catoline. Back then it was mostly Italian breads and buns and some specialty items. Today had the opportunity to introduce it to my wife Kyree and our youngest child Nicolina. My last visit was 1980. Old style Italian bakery with good selection of pastry and breads. Lots of Italian delicacies. Hot table was very good. Staff very helpful. Felt like Nona and nono were looking after me.

Stopped here for lunch after a quick google of sandwich shops and it did not disappoint! The staff was so incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us. Sandwiches made fresh to order and homemade soups. Not to mention the baked goods. What a GEM to stumble across
