“John is a good man. Not only was he professional, the debit machine was down and I was 60 cents short cash and he was kind enough to to still provide me service. On top of this he even gave me a water bottle. Now that's quality service coupled with customer service. Best french fries in all of Durham. This is the spot.“
“it's been a while since I went for fish and chips. I find it to expensive for what you get. tonight at Churchills was definitely worth every penny. in comparison to a chain restaurants in oshawa this place has them beat . the portions are hardy and this is why I love family ran business. they know what their customers want! can tell how busy they are, but always great with their customers. very satisfied. now my favorite“
“Was first time there nd wow was I impressed. Sarah was a great waitress with a beautiful smile and great personality that welcomed us at the door and very fast to serve us. The halibut was so fresh and perfectly cooked fries were nice and crispy and the coleslaw was crunchy and fresh. If I could suggest anything it would be to go back and eat there again as we will be also.Thank you for a delightful lunch.“

“Five Stars! Fresh, Delicious, and Friendly at Halibut House!I had a fantastic experience at Halibut House Fish & Chips recently, and I couldn't wait to share it!The Vibe: The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It wasn't fancy, but it felt comfortable and casual, perfect for a relaxing meal. The Service: The staff were the real stars of the show! They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed and were genuinely happy to answer my questions. The Food: Now, onto the most important part – the food! It was absolutely delicious! I tried the shrimp and the fish & chips, and both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were plump and juicy, and the fish was flaky and flavorful. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like them. I also enjoyed the dipping sauce – it was creamy and complemented the seafood perfectly. The salad was a delightful surprise – it was fresh, colorful, and packed with a variety of veggies. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. One Minor Hiccup: The only downside was a slight fishy smell coming from the crab dishes being prepared. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticeable.Overall: Despite the minor fishy aroma, my experience at Halibut House was fantastic! The delicious food, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere make it a place I'll definitely be returning to. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐P.S. If you're looking for fresh, tasty seafood and a friendly dining experience, look no further than Halibut House! You won't be disappointed!P.P.S. If you're sensitive to seafood smells, you might want to request a table away from the crab preparation area.Parking: at site free“

“Just got take out to bring to work. I ordered and paid online. Picked up at the scheduled time. It was waiting and nice and hot. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The food couldn't have been better and the portions.... I've got 3 meals out of their large chicken dinner. 10/10 will be “
“We pre-ordered for Good Friday and it was delicious. We ordered two family packs and an extra 2 pieces of fish, and it was hot and crispy, not greasy at all. The gravy and coleslaw was great too! Big pieces of halibut. They were super organized and delivered our meal right to the car. It was delayed a bit due to the busyness of the day, but it was worth the wait.Yummy.“
“I was out for a drive, looking for somewhere to have lunch, when I came across Halibut King Fish & Chips in Whitby, so I decided to stop in. They have a lot on their menu, including burgers, souvlaki, breakfast, and more but a sign out in the parking lot caught my attention: Haddock & Chips $10.99. That's what I had! I got a large piece of fish, nicely battered, a whole bunch of fries, and house-made tartar sauce. It looked really good, although I would have preferred my fries to be cooked just a wee bit longer. Some coleslaw on the side would also have been nice but it was already a good deal at this price. The fish was perfectly cooked, and flaky. With good food and good service, I recommend this place!“
“Dob bole comes to this place frequently. Dob bole is always happy with the quality of the food. It has gotten a little pricey with inflation but still worth it. Crystal the server is an absolute delight. She is kind and very attentive. Overall a great “
“This is a small, plain restaurant. Went for breakfast. I was thrilled because they had gluten free bread. Had eggs, homefries and toast with a side of grilled tomatoes. All done exactly the way I wanted. Coffee was only $1.95!Service by AJ was as good as any fine dining restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread“
“Absolutely love this place! Compared to the other bars in the vicinity it’s comparatively cheaper. The drinks are basic and the menu is simple, they don’t have a printed menu but it’s written and hung on the walls. Very cosy and the owners/staff are friendly and nice. Would definitely go back again!Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options. They have finger foods for vegetarians.Parking: Located in a small plaza with limited parking spots“
