“You don't have to be scottish to enjoy a visit. 600 whiskeys, some from distilleries that closed so limited stock. Staff and owner are very welcoming. Haggis, deep fried Mars bars, and much more. My wife said it was like her diet when she grew up near Edinburgh. Brilliant place, going back many times“

“I loved this pub so much I got married here! We had a small ceremony (20 people) on the dreamy back patio and a medium reception (55 people) on the upper floors. Steve and his staff were a dream to work with. I won't get into all the details but it was like working with a proper wedding planning team with the benefit (and cost!) of a casual, cozy pub wedding. Everyone raved about the food and the staff.“

“Awesome experience at Char No. 5 - not your typical "hotel bar". Old fashioned is excellent - not too sweet, perfect balance. Pisco Sour and Espresso Martini variations were excellent as well. Tried the Tuna on Crispy Rice and the Corn Tempura - both were great appetizers and nice portions. Had "The Six" for dessert and it was excellent as well. But the BEST part of the experience is the service - both Eric and Abdisa were a pleasure to talk to. They gave excellent recommendations, were patient while we made some decisions and were genuinely nice guys. Absolutely recommend this spot if in downtown Toronto!“

“I recently had my 30th birthday here and it was amazing. The food was phenomenal (burgers and dumplings were my fav), cocktails were amazing and the service was beyond! My friends loved the space for the bday and we’ll all definitely be back! The owner Michael is so helpful and attentive to all wants/needs. Thank you for the best birthday :)“

“We had a nice sandwich for lunch and stayed to work after. The food wasn’t mind blowing; it was a better cafe sandwich though so 5/5. Staff aren’t super friendly, you guys can work on hospitality and inclusion. There is only ONE outlet so bring an outlet extender to make your life easier. The superpower of the place is that you can work in a cafe filled with other young professionals!! They have coffee and wine so you could probably hold quick work meetings here, table is not guaranteed. The outside is pretty as well, there are a couple of benches, they offer blankets for people who sit outside!!!! How nice. Will recommend for work and will come back.“

“Cute lounge! Lots of whisky selection. Some great finds like Jefferson's Ocean Bourbon that i rarely see anywhere . Service was great and friendly but I feel like they lacked whisky knowledge but that's okay because we are whisky connoisseurs. The second lounge where the tunnel is has a nice vibe for an evening gnojr with a group . Smells like cigars which gives it a nice ambiance. There's a human size bird cage for when you have a few too many and think that you are a burlesque girl .“

“Review is based on their venue space alone. I've been here twice already for private parties so the entire space is booked out and clear of tables/ chairs. It really is a large space you can use for whatever the event may be. The event I attended was a birthday and for night time, so the entire space as booked out and for our friends only. They do your regular bar rail drinks that you can order or get a bottle. The space is spacious and can easily holy over 100 people. We had about 50-60 at the space and there was still a lot of room left for others to join. The best part is that the outside is overlooking the waters, with a skating rink in the winter. If you're looking for event space in the future, definitely consider Boxcar Social. However, since it's at the Harbourfront, the parking is quite expensive and is underground right beside the Harbourfront Centre.“
