“What a great place! I got to sit right in front of the cozy fireplace and ended up spending almost 3 hours here. I had an amazing omelet and toast, and a couple of hours later I had the most delicious cinnamon roll ever! I was so grateful to have this little oasis in the middle of my day. “My favorite spot in Seaside, and some of the best French Toast I have had anywhere. We came in on New Year’s Day and it was a CROWD: long wait for a table, and slow kitchen. But the management and staff were so kind, so cool, so smooth in the face of cranky, hungry, hungover customers: it was a joy to watch them at work. And the food: perfect down to the details, and entirely worth the wait. Abundant queer-friendly vibes were a bonus. My teens and I will absolutely be back to this haven: hopefully on a less busy day!“

The establishment welcomed my wife, I and our dog and treated us as if we were locals. “As an airline crew member, I flew to China, mostly Beijing, for 28 years straight. Candy and the staff at New Garden provide the most delicious and authentic Chinese food I’ve had in the states. It is a ritual of dining I savor.“

The fish tacos were already great, and then I tried the verde salsa with its smoky (mesquite?) flavor and they were absolute perfection. “We found this place on Yelp. Restaurant itself was a typical bar, nothing fancy. However, the waitress was great, taking care of the entire place by herself! She knew the regulars, and had their drinks ready when they walked in. The food was very good - clam strips, burgers, French dip, and pastrami sandwich...and everyone loved the fresh cut fries! Definitely a good find!! We will be back next time we are in Seaside!“

“Really good coffee! We tried several other coffee shops while staying in Seaside and really did not like the local coffee. I'm not sure where Dutch Bros Coffee sources their coffee, but it's much more in keeping with the tastes preferences of eastern-US coffee.“

“I was looking for a place that was open and offered good food along with soup. I decided that Uptown Cafe was my best choice and stopped in as a single diner yesterday around 7 PM. I appreciated that they are open until 9 PM as most places around here close at 8 PM and I don't like going to eat at a location that I know is closing up soon. There were a few tables occupied and one server. I looked at their specials which included a creamy mushroom soup! After a short time he came over to seat me and was very affable.I was seated at a nice window seat and decided upon the mushroom soup and their special pot roast. The server came back over to my table and took my order. He apologized for the wait, which in this post-covid era, wasn't much of a wait at all.My soup came out right away, and it was delicious. I was able to enjoy it while waiting for my food. The main course arrived and it was a huge portion size. I ate half of it and had to take the other half home. The pot roast was cooked perfectly, melting off my fork. The entire meal was very reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. I had not visited here before because the outside and the location gave me the impression it was an average tourist stop along the way to the coast but I could not have been more wrong about that.I will definitely be back again!“

After a poor and overly priced culinary experience the day prior, Mo's helped my kids see the value of quality and of a dollar.We ordered two oyster shooters, a bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings, a combination seafood platter, a Slumgullion Cannonball, a blackened salmon filet platter, strawberry lemonade, root beer, and two Bloody Mary's. $130 including the tip! Everything was perfectly done, flavorful, and serving sizes were beyond generous. The atmosphere was fun and very beachy (and the actual view of a beach didn't disappoint!), and the service was amazing.Seriously, if you haven't tried oysters get a shooter. The texture was amazing and the finish left you with a taste and smell of the sea in the most wonderful way! You won't regret it if it's your first time and you're nervous! I do wish the clam chowder had more clams. It was good, but not the nostalgia of a beachfront chowder I was hoping for. Definitely get it with the shrimp because of that.We look forward to coming back when we hit the coast again!“
