I got the Coconut Chai Tea and also tried The Arabic People Latte (actual names, swipe right to see menu) and they were both superb. The coffee was beyond smooth and just the perfect hint of cardamom. The chai tea also had a subtle note of coconut in one of my all time fav and go to drinks. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Part of going is definitely for the experience! “First time eating Sri Lankan, and I think it is my favorite. Helps that I had a Sri Lankan friend with me to order and everything was delicious. Flavors that made my mouth happy. Spicy but not too much. We had two different types of roti, string hoppers, dishes with eggplant, chicken, jackfruit, and pop sambol. Flavors were out of this world. The cardamom flan for dessert was yummy and the Sri Lankan Iced Coffee was so good. Can’t wait to return“

“They made up for their mistake. Mothers Day breakfast party of only 4, started out great, hostess, waitress were just great. Waitress took our order promptly. All is good so far. After 30 minutes, no food. After 40, no food. Our waitress forgot to put in our order. We continued waiting. 1 hour now, still no food. We asked again about our food to the manager. They kept saying, any minute now like if only a few minutes had gone by. Needless to say, we were very upset. Moms day breakfast ruined!!. Manager was under the impression that we had only been waiting just a few minutes . Miscommunication among staff. Not good. The only reason we stayed was because all other restaurants close by were already packed with people. Our food finally arrived and it was delicious, I wont lie. Excellent food. A few minutes later the chef came out to our table very, extremely apologetic and accepting their mistake on behalf of the restaurant and she made sure to make things right and really took care of us. This shows that this place cares about their reputation, their image, their customer satisfaction. After the whole ordeal, we left satisfied that staff made up for their mistake. We will still return to this restaurant next time we visit Portland. Food is great.“

It has the classic homey feeling that I love in a coffee shop.We got chai tea lattes and they were delicious.We also got some GF treats that were made by the owners mom. They were delicious, however my partner has celiac disease and had a reaction to them. I do not fault the business, accounting for celiac disease in gluten free foods is difficult because of the cross contamination and even needing to use separate cutting boards or other utensils. I only mention this so other people with celiac can remain safe!I will be returning to speedboat for more coffee soon! Thanks for the great service.“

Ordered an 18” Pepperoni pie and everything about it is just right. The fold, the cheese pull, the taste, Yumm! Also ordered a sausage calzone because it is so rare to find a calzone here that contains ricotta cheese. This was huge and full of goodness. That ricotta sure hits the spot!“

The only thing I was surprised by was that there weren't more fruit pies -- it seems to be mainly nut, seed, and candy pies. I was also impressed by the chai, although I do wish the spicy option was spicier. It was quite busy and loud inside when I went, which meant there weren't any tables inside, and most of the outdoor seating was taken. The outdoor seating aside from picnic tables was a bit precarious. I'd love to come back here again to see what other seasonal flavors they will offer!“
