“Mt.Angel Abbey is the reason to visit this town , and Lou's kitchen is a place to stop by for any occasion to eat. Soup, salads, and sandwiches are all fantastic. My favorite is a crossian avocado sandwich with potato soup , burgers, and all other menus will be great. Kristi dad was the owner a long time ago, and Scott, her husband bith works so hard and creates great meals !!! Original old building maintained great condition , love the place!!! Thanks, Kristi and Scott .”
“My food was fresh, hot, and full of authentic old Mexico flavor. Portions are generous. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Bathrooms are provided, and cash and cards are accepted. Service was top-notch.”
“Customers are pleasant to talk to, food is good for bar, good aromphere, prices reasonable & the staff is excellent! I've been going to Tiny"s for 32 years never gets old, comfortable place away from home!!Parking: No trouble with parking on street, usually within a block!”
“Red Haus Pizza is delicious! They have perfected the crust, it has the perfect texture, chew, and crispiness. I had the Red Haus Special which is drizzled with a fondue cheese, it was wonderful. Thank your for bringing pizza to Mt. Angel!”
“Had a great visit to Mount Angel, and part of the reason was this place. I had the Jagerschnitzel and it was fantastic. They have excellent beer too. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in Mt. Angel.”
“Nice place to get food. Easy to get out of parking lot. Kinda hard to turn in depending on which side of the road you are.Parking: Small amount of parking spots.”
“Super delicious! They make their own tortillas everything was made on the spot. We ordered tacos de tripa, sopes de lengua, chorizo, asada, and pastor, and a quesadilla de asada and all of it was so good! Definitely coming back again. Super good service as ”
“Bacon cheeseburger was better than it needed to be, by a lot. Bartender was cool. Patrons were friendly. Beer was ice cold. Pretty safe to say I'll be back ?”
“Amazing diabetic and keto sweets that I like better than sugared items!!Dietary restrictions: Many zero added sugar items. LOVE IT!Kid-friendliness: My friends kids didn't stop a beat devouring the eclares!!”
“We've been wanting to try Happy Garden for a while and finally pulled the trigger the other night. We got a sampling of a few "safe" dishes to get a feel for the food, though when we went to pick it up, we realized that was ill-advised. The order total (which we didn't get over the phone) gave us a bit of sticker shock, as it was $75 for two adults and a child. But, holy moly, that was a lot of food, leftovers enough for a couple of nights! So, accounting for the leftovers we got out of it, the price wasn't bad and ended up on par with the pretty good pizza place 5 miles down the road (also lots of leftovers from that place). The kicker is that the food was actually pretty good! Granted I probably wouldn't know any "authentic" Chinese if I was served it, I'll say I'm not a fan of the heavily Americanized Chinese foods out there that are over-fried before being soaked in an overly sweet sauce that you're pretty sure is just a bad take on ketchup. That Chinese is easy to find and I'm happy to say that Happy Garden is NOT that type of place. So, while I may not be able to attest to authenticity, I can say that what we had was just genuinely good food. The fried dishes were fried correctly, so that they were crispy but not oily. The sweet and sour chicken even kept a nice bite to it after being coated in the sauce! (and they didn't cheat by overcooking it and passing off crunchy for crispy). The kung pao chicken was not overly sweet and had a nice kick. Though I should mention that if you like the starchy, dark, sweet sauce in your kung pao (i.e., Panda Express style), you may want to pass on Happy Garden's version; theirs doesn't resemble that much, though I'd argue it's much better for it. Pot stickers and lo mein were both good as well. And, generally speaking, all of the vegetables were cooked but crisp, and the dishes all had a balanced flavor, where nothing overwhelmed and nothing was bland.Food and price aside, we have no complaints about service. The food was ready on time, hot, and handed to us by a very friendly person (possibly an owner?). Since it's just takeout, there's not much to the service aspect to rate, but what there is was top notch.Overall, I'd say if you're in the Silverton-Mt. Angel area, Happy Garden is the place to go for Chinese. It's certainly now on our top 5 for go-to takeout places!”
“Clean, well stocked with a good variety of items. The store is very high volume so deli items are always pretty fresh. M-F from 11:30am until they sell out, they have home made burritos of different varieties. My favorite is the Asada burrito. Burritos are large and very filling.A negative for me with this store is that the prices are a little on the high side.”
“I had the fish n chips, 2 of my group had the brisket, and 1 had the meatloaf. They were all so so good! We'll definitely be back! We've also tried the Steak Salad, Veggie Pizza, and Burgers, all good eatin'!”
“Oh my goodness, what an experience. Featured local farm foods, gluten free options, amazingly fresh and nourishing broth. And the customer service was incredible. 10 stars, I’m so glad places like this exist.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free”
“I've had a few clients work with The Bake Shop now and rave of about the service + the cake during their weddings! They always turn out gorgeous and delicious!”
“The Food was amazing, the forceccia sandwich was the best thing ever, there is multiple options but we got the classic and it was soooooo good, I would come back to oregon just for the sandwich. The lasagna was alright but i liked it. The desert was also just amazing, the gelato was great but the tiramisu was even better. The service was great and really nice. The atmosphere was also amazing and it was authentic italian food.”
“Oh my...YUM! Homemade and fresh tortillas. Homemade salsas and wonderfully marinated meats and authentic rice and bean! This is what REAL Mexican food is supposed to taste like. If you don't like this place, then go back to Chipotle where you belong....hehehe thank you, Santana. Maybe add a little salt to the tortillas, but everything was awesome.”
“Everything is always so good. They keep everything clean. Never had a bad experience. Such friendly people. Excellent amount of food for price. And bakery is so delightful.”
“Went for a cola late @ nite after a long hike and they had 1 left. So I bought their last cola and some cider for my hiking buddy. Definitely more of a restaurant cafe diner/ mini mart. But was there in a ”
“Absolutely phenomenal brewery. Great selection of beers on tap. All different types and all delicious. Our favorite one was the cozier cabin. An amazing holiday ale. Tasted just like Christmas. We couldn't spend a lot of time there but it was fast and convenient ordering through toast. Or they can wait on tables as well, which was very nice to see. Gonna be our new destination spot whenever we go out of town.”
“Food was amazing and not a long wait at all, the waitresses were OUTSTANDING!! Very welcoming, nice, and attentive to their customersKid-friendliness: We brought our feral hangry 1 year old on a last minute dinner run and they were so kind and didn’t make us feel like a bother with him.”
“Literally everything we received, we delightfully devoured. My, oh my... Oso is divine! We had an amazing Lucy's Blend wine by Vitis in Silverton, a Greek salad, cabbage with corned lamb, perfectly creamy gouda mac with fresh spiral pasta, beet chevre ravioli, and a flourless chocolate torte with afogatto. Then we ordered more gouda mac and baklava to go. ??Kasey is lovely, and I'm so happy to have the pleasure of enjoying her establishment. We will be back!”
“My husband and I were just passing through town and stopped here, I loved the taste of the food, we ordered the sweet and sour pork and the teriyaki chicken, both were very tasty. If we're ever in the neighborhood again, I'd come back.”
“Shared to me by a friend, and had been wanting to try this place. It was very good! The staff were super friendly! I had the mac and cheese special with bacon, and bacon jam. It was super tasty. My gf had the mushroom burger, and it was also awesome. We will certainly be back to try some other options! I reccomend giving this little soit a chance.”
“One of the best dining experiences in Oregon in my opinion. Small town feel, homemade style dishes, amazing breakfast, etc etc. The Home Place never misses. The staff are always helpful and happy to answer any questions you have.”
“I humbly admit I am an amateur to authentic Mexican cuisine, but these tacos were some of the best I’ve had. I got the carne asada tacos, the tortilla was so soft and the asada well seasoned and juicy. The chips and salsa were great; salty and chunky salsa. Highly recommend!”
“First time ordering and it was bomb. We did take out, staff was polite lite and prompt . We Will definitely be ordering again. The octopus nigiri was delicious and so was the sweet shrimp.”
“Service was very helpful and welcoming. She explained the menu beautifully. Clean and lovely atmosphere. Food was fantastic! Not too greasy. Highly recommend either type of their homemade tortillas were sooo good. Check this place out (:”
“I am a vegetarian so please keep that in mind.I think this is the best tasting food I have found to date in the state or Oregon. I am originally from California, which has amazing restaurants of all types of cuisine’s. So moving to Oregon in 2019 I have been searching for a Mexican restaurant that compares to restaurants in California and I have just found it.The only complaint was from my friend who was with me who said the chicken was a little dry. But all the rest of the food we had was absolutely amazing. It’s a small restaurant that only has around 10 tables. The prices are very reasonable. They hand all the food here as far as I could tell and the pupusas’s here are the best I have ever had. Rice and beans are on point and not too salty. I will be returning here and my waistline will not be thanking me for it.FYI it is not letting me post any pics for this review. I will try to add some again soonVegetarian options: Veggie burrito is really good”
“As always, the food was wonderful! The Osso Bucca with risotto was excellent. The staff was so friendly, makes me feel like I'm family! Brought someone new along and they were very impressed. The ambiance is lovely as well. Very warm and inviting and romantic.”
“It’s a very nice place! We arrived when they opened at 2:00PM and by 3:15 it was a hoppin’ place! Family friendly too! We visited a couple years ago and again today December 28 will definitely have to come back in the summer they are putting in an additional area for outside seating. ?”
